hmm, i'm not quite sure about the content, because, I don't know, I read a lot of poems and I feel like lots of them prove me the opposite of what your poem claims - there are so many people who present themselves as great poets but only a few who actually are. perhaps this poem is thought to be an ironic statement about exactly this feeling of how easy it is to write stuff that makes you a poet... if that's what you meant it's actually very clever.
Yes, this is satirical. This is how people now think poems are constructed, and it's annoying to me.

I've only recently grown fond of poetry, before then I had a massive distaste for it and I just got the vibe that poet's were pretentious. So because of that, I can definitely appreciate the humour in this!

Free verse poetry has been around for just as long as immensely structured poetry, if not longer, and it's actually freer to express various images in the format than structured poetry.
I get the point. At the same time, it's immensely disrespectful and I feel like plenty of free-verse poets would agree that it's just as difficult to write a free-verse poem as a structured poem. It's not all slapdash throwing words across a page.

that was really amusing, i get what you mean sometimes you want to just put pen to paper and stop worrying about punctuation or structure. some of my best work comes when i am just thinking random thoughts that narrows down to an interesting topic or idea.
i have to say though that its a little insulting though to find you hinting that anybody can be a poet and that a poem is no different than any other. anybody can write yes i agree but not a lot of people can effect others with what they write. it is truly a gift and sometimes a curse to find your self unable to stop writing.

All I really see wrong is the occasional lowercase 'I'. I'm really horrible about messing with other peoples' grammar, whoops.
