Pokemon Ultimate Evolution Season 2: Episode 13, Madness Part 1

by dark

"Hm? What do you want to tell me?" Jason asked.

"Um... I uh...." Cristina stammered. "I wanted to know what you thought... about me."

Jason stopped walking, fixated his eyes on hers and placed a hand on her forehead. "Are you feeling okay? Just a few seconds ago, you were clearly angry about something, you're so far away from home right now, and now you're asking me what I think of you?"

"Just answer the question Jason!" She cried. "Please, I don't know why but I need to know what you think."

Jason let out a loud sigh. "Cristina, you're one of the most amazing people I've ever met. You're smart, funny, and even though I've never seen you fight, I think you could pack a hard punch against the strongest of enemies. It's an honor to be your brother, and now that I know you, I don't think I could live my life if you were gone. There. Is that what you needed to know?"

"Do you mean all of that." Cristina questioned with tears flooding her eyes.

Jason hugged her tightly. "Every last word. Now tell me, why did you need me to tell you that?"

"I think I'm insane. I don't remember leaving the house, or walking so far. I only knew that I was looking for you." She said.

Jason started to walk again while Cristina followed. "C'mon, we're related to the most insane person on this planet. If you have black outs or thinks happen to you that you can't explain, it's perfectly normal for us."

"Jason I'm serious. I think something's wrong!"

"I'm serious too! If I end up being wrong then that'll be my fault, but until then I'm asking you not to worry." Jason said, sternly. "Look, just let this play out for a bit. Things have been happening to me too. Flannery told me that we shouldn't always worry about what our minds do to us. However, if you really feel that something is seriously wrong with you, then tell Ryan. He usually knows what to do."

----

Five hours passed since Cristina stormed out; Hours as long as twenty minutes long in Milky Way time. I decided to finally unbox and set up some of the electronics I had stored in the room with healer beds. I speedily pulled out the boxes and lay then in the area behind the stairs which was a path to the living room. In an attempt to entertain myself, I activated my Extremespeed and set up the PC and one of the Tv's, then rearranged and reconfigured the wires so that only the shortest wires were used. It worked out well enough so that nothing was awkwardly tilted or hugged against the wall too much.

Now even more bored out of my mind I went out through the back door to where Gavin and Jill kept their webs.

"Hey lovers!" I called out. Gavin, who was resting in the middle of the yard, opened his six eyes while Jill bounded onto my head. "I'm bored you guys."

"Aww, you poor thing!" Jill cooed, nuzzling my head. "You men are always bored."

I sat down next to Gavin and leaned on his side. "Can you blame us? We're in some sort of a grace period. No danger, no problems, no one to try and murder me. I don't go to work so that's out of the question."

"Why don't you ever work?" Gavin asked, his voice obviously groggy.

"I never had to really. Besides, I'm too unorthodox to work for someone as my first job. The first job I get is a job where I'm the boss." I couldn't help but laugh.

"You and your ego." Jill said sticking out her tongue.

"Jillian Spidar, please. This has nothing to do with ego. I just do things the abnormal way. I'm insane remember?"

"Oh, I know."

We sat there for a while just looking up at the stars when a comet fly by. "Where do those comets go?" Jill asked.

"Anywhere before they die. That one looks likes it's headed towards the Milky Way, where Earth is at." I sighed. "That makes me wonder; How did I ever manage to create a planet at all?"

"What do you mean?" Gavin asked.

"I mean, how come I was born with such amazing powers? Look at our world for example. I've read that within only hours of the first few eggs hatching, Pokemon were already inventing the things that humans are only scratching the surface on."

"Wait, if you created our world, then how come you didn't know that from the start?"

"Well, I sealed myself in a black cloud shortly after I found Jason's egg. I wanted the world to be a surprize for me when I woke up. It also forces the way I aged to be slower so no one could easily tell that I was the oldest person in existence. After billions of years, I had really only aged one year. I was eight when I created this world."

I closed my eyes as Jill spoke. "What was your home like? Did you live in outer space?"

"I don't know. I have no memory of who or what I was before I woke up in space. All I knew was that I had to create a world or people like me. Maybe this is the kind or planet I lived in before and I just wanted to recreate home. I never gave it much thought. That part of the past doesn't matter to me. Only what I do hear and now."

"Wow, that's deep."

I opened my eyes and saw Jason with Cristina hanging on his arm. "Most people would give anything to know what they couldn't remember."

"Hey, you two." I said. "I guess I'm just different, and that's the way I like it."

The two of them sat down on each side of me and lay their heads on my shoulders. The moment Cristina touched me I knew something was bothering her.

When you want to talk I'll be here. You can wait until Jason goes to sleep. I projected my thoughts to her; I has been practicing it for many years now.

Hello dark, Wolf here for a review.
So I'm not sure how I'm supposed to review this, but I have read it so therefore, I must review. I was slightly disappointed though. I came in expecting to see some world with wonderful Pokémon bouncing around, and these people on their journeys, doing whatever Pokémon trainers do.

Your imagery was really well done, and this was written so well. I like the ending mystery added into the effect. You use the first person point of view really well, and I love being able to know this character's personality after only reading about him just now.

So I was very confused about Christina. So apparently she was mad, and then she was really upset (or so it seemed), then the protagonist says that he just found out he was Christina's brother. The first part left me going, What?? *reread* I don't understand. *reread* What is this talking about? How did he not know that she was his sibling? If he even is.

If they aren't siblings, it seems like some kind if romance, but anyway. The flow of this was very nice and I cannot wait to see where this goes. Bit wait, one last comment. What is this grace period? I think it is mentioned somewhere else, but it left me lost. Well, Keep Writing,
~Wolfare

A few episodes back, I wrote a comment saying that the story will being entering a grace period, which is a period of episodes after a serious conflict has been resolved This is meant to make time for less important things like what a character do in their free time ect. The confusion about Cristina is intended because she is confused about her own antics and her short term memory loss.

The grace period is already coming to an end.

Uh oh... a multi-parter... what's going to happen?! An ominous chapter name, too. I thought you said this was the grace period!

It worked out well enough so that nothing was awkwardly tilted or hugged against the wall too much.

Now even more bored out of my mind

Haha, I love that you took the time to describe everything he did as he did it, in such boring detail, because it really added to the idea that he was bored out of his mind. If you had just said "bored out of my mind, I set up some game things and was still bored", we wouldn't believe it, but you took the time to show it to us rather than tell it to us, and that was really successful. Nice!

Hmmm. We finally got some more concrete information about how Ryan created the world, and I'm still a little confused, but I guess I'm never going to get less confused. Is it right of me to understand it as it was just something he did. No real reason, no real intention. He didn't set out to create planets to be consciously great, he just did and was kind of playing around with them? It's hard for me to understand, a being living on Earth. Maybe he had no idea the kind of people that would evolve?

You're tackling big questions of consciousness and intent here, and it's nice to see Ryan handle it kind of non-chalantly. I mean, it's really ODD, because to us it's a BIG IMPORTANT QUESTION, but it fits his character, I'm sure.

I'd like if he would wonder a little bit more, and I wonder if he'll ever find someone who can answer his questions for him!

Also, BAM way to surprise us with new powers. Can Cristina hear him?? Can she respond if she hasn't been practicing for years? Wonder!

I'll be waiting for your next chapter. Lemme know when it's up. Keep writing and let me know in PM or as replies to my reviews if you have any questions or comments about them.

Good luck~

Thanks for all of the reviews. Glad to have you back, Han.
