I woke up to the sound of running water and the scent of bath soap. Cristina's bed was empty.
I hopped out of my bed, stretched, and let a loud yawn escape from my lips. The shades covering a small window let little light through, so I shuffled over and torn them open. The beautiful twilight of dawn was revealed. I opened the window to replace the stale air, and then I saw that the window was still reflecting my face back at me, as if the glass hadn't been moved. Curiously, I stuck my hand through to the outside, but an invisible force stopped it from continuing. Then I clued in. I'm still asleep.
I spun around and saw myself sleeping silently on my bed. Another limbo session was now in progress. They were pretty common for me when I sleep for a long time. The last time it happened was when I was separated from my body by rage, went into limbo and met Anabell. If I'm right, I should be seeing that girl again...
____
"Oh dear... Those dreams again. That man, those two little children... What could it possibly mean? Are they the family I've been missing?"
The girl sat up in her bed and looked around her dark apartment. "Jeez, get it together, Panara. You're losing your mind. Every time I have a dream like this, I never take advantage of them to find out what they mean. Ugh! What is wrong with me? I know that man sees me, but he expects me to come to him."
Panara hopped off of the bed and stretch. She quickly grabbed her blanket and wrapped it around herself to shield herself from the frigid air. "These, dreams... They scare me. I could be sleeping right now and not even know it..."
"You are sleeping." I chuckled. Just as I am still sleeping. You see, these dream worlds tend to be very deceiving. I don't quite understand it either. Look at your bed."
Panara was petrified. She slowly turned around, as if she were expecting a Hypno to snatch her up like a helpless child. She looked at me funny, avoiding eye contact on purpose. She did as I said and saw her self still resting with the blanket she supposedly pulled off of the bed. She examined her own body, looking transparent and ghost like, the way people always were in dreams. Her blanket was gone, of course and she just stood there, as if she had never seen herself in those pink pajamas before.
"Why I am here?" She whimpered, now shivering vigorously. "I- I don't know why I'm here."
"I don't know either, but I know it means we have a connection." I answered. I peeled off my jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. Her shivering immediately stopped.
"Thank you, uh.."
"Ryan, Ryan Sparker."
"Yeah, thanks Ryan. What do mean by a connection?" She asked.
"Well, when I was nine, I had dreams like this on a daily basis." I began. "I see people, people that I have connections with. At least, I think that's only reason I always see specific people. Those dreams aren't as common now, and recently, I've only seen you."
"So you did see me before."
"Indeed I did. You seemed so timid and afraid; I didn't want to scare you even more."
"Oh, how thoughtful of you, Ryan." She said sarcastically. "Scared little Pan, is that all I am?"
"I don't know, silly. This is the first time we've ever spoken to each other. Telling each other our names is a start." I said, trying to seem as friendly as possible. "What did you say yours was?"
"Sorry. My name is Panara. No ever calls me that though. Then again, I don't really have anyone to call me anything. No real friends and no family.
"Well, you have me now don't you?" I smile. "We're family."
"What makes you say that?" She asked with a puzzled look.
"I have no idea. This happened before when I met my young sister, Cristina. I had this feeling, as if we grew up together, knowing we were siblings. The only catch was that this wasn't the case. I have that very same feeling now. Exactly the same in fact. You're my sister. Something in you mind is telling you that I'm you brother, right?"
Pan gave no answer. Instead, she gave me a tight hug, dropping my jacket on the ground. I felt a new kind of warmth within her embrace. I hugged her back just as tightly, wishing we could stay like this forever. This girl, another sister, has just expanded my family by one.
"This... This is unreal. After all of these years, with no family. I finally found out." She sobbed, soaking my black shirt.
"Shh, I know, I know. It's just one of the greatest feelings know to the Pokemon world." I said, stoking her hair.
The room around us slowly lit up. We were now outside of the apartment building Pan lived in. Pan looked up at the sky, just as bit as confused as I was.
"How did we get out here?" I asked.
"Oh, sorry." Pan said, releasing me from her embrac and wiping off her tears. "When I cry, I tend to teleport short distances randomly. You were hugging me so tightly that I took you with me.
"Hm, just like Palkia." I answered.
"Palkia? You mean the Pokemon that rules over space? How can that be? Wait, you don't think-"
"That you're Palkia? No, you definitely are Palkia."
"Don't be silly, Ryan." Pan, laughed. "I'm not anything special."
"You'r a Sparker, of course your special." I smiled giving her a playful punch. "No doubt about it."
"If you say so." Pan sighed.
"Do me a favor and wake up, okay? It looks like we in the same city. I have seen this building before. I live west of here, so you can come visit me anytime. Hell, come live with us if you'd like. There's plenty of space."
"I'll be sure to." Pan blew me a kiss. "Love ya bro!"
I smiled and replied, "Love you too, sis." Suddenly the world around me spiraled into darkness and I awoke.
____
I got up from me bed feeling well rested, tore open the blinds and opened the window for real this time. I stepped outside. The sun was just about finished with rising. The cool, brisk air felt incredible on my hands, feet and face. It was odd, I didn't remember taking off my shoes or socks. I also noticed my jacket was gone. While I was dreaming, I gave it too Panera to keep her warm, but that was in another world. I came to the conclusion that Cristina had undressed me, probably to make me more comfortable. I stepped back inside, closed the door, and propped myself up against it to relish in the thought of expanding my family.
"Ryan, what's up?"
I turned around to see Cristina in the black bathrobe I bought her back in Rustboro. "You seem awfully happy about something."
"Yup. Still as observant as ever, Cristina." I answered. "Let me ask you something. How would you feel if we had another member of our long separated family join us?"
"Is this about Panara? 'Cause if it is, I'm all for it. An older sister. Now I'll have female for me too look up too, plus you and Jason."
"So, you know about Panara?" I asked.
"Well, I kind of fell asleep while I was bathing and I sort of got mixed up in your little dream gathering. Sorry if I ruined a surprise." She said, plopping herself on her bed. The light pouring in from the window shone on her glistening wet hair, and gave it this amazing glow. I only just notice her hair was longer in the back.
"I only just found out so its okay. However, I can't shake the feeling that you don't want her to live with us." I sat down next to her. "So, what's the matter?"
"You know. I- I just don't know about it. I know she's a proven family member, but... Ugh, I'm sorry. Last night I had a nightmare. Everything was dark. The entire time, I was in this dark, cold, damp place I knew nothing about. And then, I saw her, looking at me with this evil loo in her eyes. Not like yours, Ryan. Her face scared me. I'm surprised I didn't wake up screaming." She said with a haunted expression.
"Its okay that you're afraid, Cristina. Just don't worry about it. If something happens, I' be here to protect you." Cristina looked up at me and met my eyes with a smile. "Why don't you get dressed and then we'll go out for a bit, okay?"
"Okay, Ryan." Cristina answered. She hopped off the bed and bound back upstairs to the bathroom, silently shutting the door behind her.
____
"Okay, Jason. I know its your favorite, so I made you a vanilla fudge cake. Hope you enjoy it. Its on me."
"Thank you Mary. I bet Flannery will really enjoy this." Jason smiled.
"So, you got yoursef a girlfriend Jay-Jay?": Mary asked.
"Uh, huh." Jason's face flushed with red. "I came here so early to get this cake made for her. Vanilla fudge is her favorite. I made sure to come get this today, because she's really special to me."
"Aw, that's sweet, honey. Well, take care now. You best get that cake to here before the mornin' rush comes in. Your know how the people of Fearahu love their cakes."
Jason took the glass container holding the cake from Mary's hands and hurried over to the apartment building Flannery lived in all the way in eastern Fearahu. Jason entered the building's lobby and bounded up to the stairs. He was running so fast the he crashed into a girl walking down the stairs. The cake few out of Jason's arms as they both fell to the ground.
"No!" The girl shouted and flung out her arms towards the cake. It miraculously froze in mid air. "Oh dear, that was close." The cake safely floated to the ground.
"Thanks for save my cake. I'm sorry for crashing into you." Jason said, scooping up the container.
"It's fine, kid. Just slow down when you're carrying something made of glass." The girl smiled. "Hey, have we met before? I swear, you look familiar."
"No, sorry, I don't know you." Jason stared at the girl, wearing a red vest with a black shirt underneath, skinny jeans and sneakers. He quickly continued up the stairs, thanking the girl again.
"Huh. That looked like that little boy I saw the first few times I dreamed about Ryan and his family..." Pan shook her head and continued on down the stairs. "It's probably just someone who looks likes him..."

Oooh, nice to see a new character introduced. This should be fun!
I'm wondering why Cristina isn't upset about Ryan speaking like this this time. Last time he said this, she was upset saying that she could take care of herself and he didn't need to always protect her, and she proved that by "defeating" Alex. Is it because that was "her own problem" that she made and wanted to get out of it, while Ryan deciding to add Pan to their family would be his decision, his problem, and then his responsibility to protect her about? A little confused about her strength v. wanting protection dynamic.
Haha, and how silly that Jason runs into her on his way to Flannery. Did we meet Flannery in an earlier chapter? I'm sorry, I can't remember... I feel like we did, because I remember being a little upset that Jason, who was once this little baby in Ryan's eyes, was somehow big enough to have girlfriends and care for people on his own. Or is this a surprise girlfriend just being revealed now? Again, if it's important for me to know, reply to this review and lemme know as I continue on to the next chapters. It's been a long time since I read this story, so I'm still sorry I forget some things. ;_;
Anyway, you say this is the grace period, so I feel sad that there's still some stress with Cristina feeling afraid of Pan -- but is maybe that Pan's other pokemon form coming out of her and being scary??
We'll see~~
Hey there! Cricket here for a review!!!
Now this review isn't going to be that long, as I have limited time, so please bear with me. Oh, and please understand if I nitpick something that the last person did. I found their review rather confusing, so please understand. As always with me..
NITPICKS
With this one I would suggest maybe adding on to the Cristina's bed was empty Maybe saying something like..I rolled over and saw that Cristina's bed was empty. Maybe something like that.
How about re-wording differently. Maybe "She turned around slowly" instead. lol xD, just sounds better to me is all.
Just a typo. "Something in your mind is telling you".
Just a typo.."Thanks for saving my cake". Nothing big.
Alright!That's it!! Hope I helped!!
Thank you for reviewing. I don't usually go back to fix tiny spelling and grammar errors anymore, but please don't feel that you reviewed for nothing. Thanks again!
Hey there it's Kat here to write a review for you on this lovely review day! Go Team Reviewlution!
Anyways, I have never read any of you works before but I really love Pokémon so bare with me in this review!
"so I shuffled over and torn them open." should be "so I shuffled over and tore them open." Maybe it's just because I haven'tread these before but it was hard to tell if the main character who was in limbo in the beginning was seeingthat is his "dream like state" or if someonehad woken him up so the first part was very confusing. But I figured it out later in the story. ""Why I am here?"" should be ""Why am I here?"" whe were she and Ryan Sparker in the same room is it like a family or...because she didn't appear to know him. "Yeah, thanks Ryan. What do mean by a connection?"" should be "Yeah, thanks Ryan. What do you mean by a connection?"" and " I think that's only reason I always see specific people" should be " I think that's only reason that I always see specific people" and "Something in you mind is telling you that I'm you brother, right?"" should be "Something in your mind is telling you that I'm your brother, right?"" and "stoking her hair. " should be "stroking her hair." and I have no idea what you were saying here "Pan looked up at the sky, just as bit as confused as I was. " ""That you're Palkia? No, you definitely are Palkia." " wouldn't he know if she was a giant palkia ???? "It looks like we in the same city" should be "It looks like we're in the same city." "I got up from me bed feeling well rested." should be "I got up from my bed feeling well rested" I stopped correcting them there but there are A LOT more you really need to proof read this. you used the phrase "I only just" twice in a row towards the end and it might be better if you refrained from soing that. The ednign confused me with Pan and Jason's little bump in it seemed to be just a random thing you threw in there. So are they pokemon or people with pokemon powers or what XD I'd like to know more about it. It was very well written aside from all the little typos and it was certainly interesting and if I have time some day I may go through and review your other episodes in order. Please proof read this though!
Keep it up!
~Kat
Okay, I have got a a lot of explaining to do. These Characters are indeed Pokemon. However, most of the people in this world assume a human form soon after they hatch form their eggs. It is unknown why this happens. Certain people, usually the legendary Pokemon, are born as more than one species. For example, Ryan is part Giratina, Arceus and Zekrom. I trying to gradually add in more background as to the exact biology of this randomized world I've created, but I have yet to realize that people who haven't read through the entire novel are going to have a hard time understanding it. My apologies. I hope the confusion didn't make it less enjoyable for you.
We enter, the Grace Period! During this time, all will seem at peace with no serious conflict. et me know how it comes out.
