Lost in a Book

E - Everyone

In Poems

That time,

When you get lost in a book

And forget what happens

So you have to read the whole page

All over again.

.

If it's from annoying siblings,

Or maybe the radio blaring,

Perhaps even the noise of cicadas outside

That make you get lost

In the book you're reading.

.

Maybe the book

Is changing from different point of views

And you have to go back

To see who is narrating

The current chapter.

.

The feeling

When you're lost in a book,

Reading the page several times in a row

And now even knowing what you just read.

Completely, utterly, lost in a book.

Oh, yes, I know that feeling all too well. While I can totally, completely relate to this poem (I would imagine that most people on this site can), it's like the previous reviewer pointed out. This just is not the most... poetic of poems. You could use more imagery and poetic devices. For instance, instead of saying,

If it's from annoying siblings

you could say something along the lines of,

If it's from those (insert insulting term towards siblings here) that deter your concentration

That's much more poetic and entertaining to read than just saying, "annoying siblings".

Don't be afraid to spice it up. You've got a good start here, a good, totally relatable subject, it just needs to be more like a poem. I enjoyed reading it as it is, but I would love to see more imagery in it.

Keep on writing!

Thank you!

Hi! Dogsrule5 here to review!

One thing. I don't understand how this can be a poem, because it is just describing a feeling. Other people might mention this, but I guess anything can be a poem. If you think about it anyway.

Nitpicks.

Number 1. I am not sure if this is correct, but when you say...

Maybe the book
I think you need to put a comma. I could be wrong cause I am not good at this kind of stuff, but just saying if I am correct.

I didn't see any major mistakes.

Grammar: No mistakes here.

I didn't really see much mistakes to tell you the truth. Which is good because you are a really good writer and I think you should keep writing cause you are a really good writing.

Spelling: No mistakes in spelling either.

I didn't find any really mistakes. Well I will talk to you later.
Love,
Dogsrule5

Thank you!

No problem.

I know what this poem means exactly. I'm sure a lot of us on this site do, as writing often goes hand in hand with reading. I don't really see how this is a poem..... it's just describing a feeling. But then again poetry can be anything really.

something I have been thinking about ever since I saw the Super Mario Bros movie is how once I took a "what Nintendo character are you" quiz and I got Waluigi.
