Hush Now

Hush now dove. Go dry your tears.
Leave your sadness and bury your fears.
You're alright, everything's fine.
I will protect you for you are mine.

Through the hours of the night,
When darkness fills your heart with fright,
My love will burn and light the way;
I won't let the demons lead you astray.

So close your eyes my little sweet.
Listen to the words I speak.
The night will soon be over and gone.
You will wake again in the bliss of dawn.

I'm not usually a big fan of poetry, but I am rather fond of this poem! It's safe, warm, and inviting. Almost like a parent to their child, or from one lover to the other. It's a very nice poem. It's short and to the point. I like it. Very nicely done. Keep writing.

This is a very nice poem, and it flows rather well except in a few areas.

"I won't let the demons lead you astray"
This line doesn't quite match up to the others. I think that "I won't let demons lead you astray" flows a bit better.

"The night will soon be over and gone."
This line has the same problem. It contains an extra syllable. Try making it "The night will soon be over, gone." In my opinion, that flows a bit better.

Otherwise, i think this poem is simply perfect, and it really convey's the message well.

Keep writing!

That's how we should measure our lives. Not in distance traveled, or time passed, or worlds conquered, but in moments... and the rush of joy—of grace—that exists within them.
