“I wish someone could fix me.”
I am a robot. Made from scraps of metal long ago, I live in my scrap metal home with my scrap metal tree and my scrap metal grass.
I have befriended the boxes I have found. They are very humble and we make small talk once in a while. They help me water my grass and trees and plants. I love my friends.
Sometimes I get angry, I can’t control my mood swings. My friends don’t like me when I get mad. They are scared of what I can do to them. After I am done being angry, It takes long hours to make up. I swear I’ll never do it again, but I can’t control these things. I hate it when I can’t keep my promises.
Every once in a while I feel broken, but no one is there to fix me. I wish I could die sometimes. Dying sounds peaceful. Like a snowfall. Or maybe an overcast sky. I wish it would snow again. The heat has been unbearable lately. Like an oven left on for eternity. Maybe death is like an overcast sky in the summer. Maybe a cool wind gently lifts you up into the sky when your time has come. And flies you all around the planet and through the clouds and over the trees. I wonder what its like looking down from up above. Who's there that can do that? What do they see? Do they see me? Am I a speck to their eyes? Am I only there like scrap metal by the side of a road? Or am I truly alive?
I hear humans can die. They die like a tire coming to a rest. Their bodies gently cool and they're lifted up into the air to be among the stars. I've seen stars before. Maybe if I was human that'd where I'd go. But I am a robot. And robots don't die.

Wow, I really love this.
I really enjoyed reading this because for one, I feel like I can relate to the robot. This is something I personally think is important in any story. I also thought it was really touching that the robot is sorry for breaking his promises, not something everyone pictures when thinking of robots.
Although, I was confused by the befriended boxes. Are the boxes other robots, since they water plants? Or are they like, actual metal boxes? That was the only thing I would have changed.
Overall I think this is a very good story that makes you stop and think. Keep up the good work!

This is interesting
I really liked the last part
but overall very good job. You should turn this into a story. Maybe not a book but a short story with a life lesson in it would be perfect
goodjob!
"I hear humans can die, but robots never die."
"We only break."
I never thought about that before. That's just very clever!
But I feel bad for this robot. He seems so sad and depressed. Makes me just want to help him and fix him. I'm reading this and trying to relate myself or people I know to it. I like stories when you can connect to the character and connect to the meaning of the story.
I'm not good at grammar so I won't be mentioning any of that stuff haha
thanks
Hi Verser!
"I wish someone could fix me" - that's so sad. I highly recommend you expand this at some point, because I'd love to read it!
I was very interested to read this after I saw the description; I think you've got a really nice fascinating idea here. In fact, I think you could go much further with it! Just think: how incredibly cool would it be to have a story where the main character is a robot instead of a human being, but you could perhaps only tell the difference in the way they talk and speak, not in the way they feel... I think you've got endless opportunities!
What you have here seems to me more like a back cover blurb, a start of something bigger. The thing is, when you get a great idea, exploit it as much as you can - don't be scared! I think this could be a great longer story (even it's still a short story) with a plot and more character development - there are already lots of cool ideas in the boxes the robot has befriended, the mood swings, feeling broken... It could be something really touching.
I look forward to it!

thanks. I'll think of it
