Hopelessly Awaiting Prince Charming

Warning: This work has been rated 16+ for language.

Today, no one believes in fairy tale kisses,
their minds are set on only side bitches,
and oh how it sucks
for us with not so much luck..
Us hopeless romantics
are growing quite frantic!
It's not so alarming,
just give us Prince Charming.
A kiss that feels like lightning,
while our heart's busy tightening.
A simple, "Forever."
Or, "We'll always be together."
It's not too much to ask for.
Maybe he'll just show up at my door.
Who knows,
maybe he never shows.
But I will keep dreaming,
'til my heart stops screaming.

This is a wonderful poem. When I first saw the title I was all like, no way, this person is writing about a fairy tale concept. That's literally my favorite thing to write about. You did a great job! I know about a million young girls who are awaiting their prince charming and this can really speak to a lot of them. This poem made my night. Great job and keep writing!

Awww I'm glad you liked it ! Thank you for the review! :)

This is a great poem. I like the rhyming quality to it (even though I have problems pulling it off). You've stated exactly what is wrong with today's idea of "romantic". I only have one critique; I'm not sure if you meant to put hear or heart. Heart goes with what the poem has been talking about, but you may have meant to say hear. Either way it's a great poem. Keep writing, and I hope to see more from you! :-)

I did mean heart thank you very much. I've reread this a million times and never noticed. Thank you for the review!

This is amazing!!!! It reminds me so much of finding the right person you want to be with.
I really like the last 2 lines but I will keep dreaming til my hear stops screaming. It's fantastic!

What was your insperation for writing this?

About 2 years ago I had my first kiss with my best friend and it was fairy tale like and I can only say that now because I know how it feels to kiss someone you're not "in love" with. We didn't last long and I just recently broke up with my second boyfriend because I wasn't feeling the love anymore. Now I'm stuck on my fairy tale kiss waiting for the right Prince Charming.

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I like this because it reminds me of how I've felt for a long while. To wish for someone (your perfect someone) to scoop you up into their arms. I agree times have changed and people forget about how enchanting life could be.
Your work makes me think of a poem on the side of a piggy bank my parents got me that always made me smile and think about fairy tales.
I think you have a lot of talent and you should definitely keep writing.
:)

Yeah I've experienced the whole fairy tale, tingling kiss and he slipped away a long time ago and that's where this poem came from. Thank you for the review! I'm glad you liked it! :)

Some call me a legacy, others call me a hero. But I assure you, dear admirers, I am only human.
