Hey! KnightTeen, here to review!

This is pretty darn awesome, and one of the truest things that I have ever read.

While the rhythm is a bit off, I like it like that, because to me it's just another representation of how we are all different and yet we work together well.

But YWS isn't perfect, everything has it's flaws.

But this kind of looks past them to focus on our good stuff, and that's cool.

You're right, the dorks don't get hate. Why? Because we are all dorks.

A lot of people are willing to help or to direct you to someone who can.

I have a lot of friends on here, and I don't care if they are gay or straight, I love them anyway.

YWS is awesome, and thank you for sharing this with everyone.

~Teen~

Hehe, this is pretty cool :) Yeah, this place is nice! ^.^ A few technial things! :P The rhythm feels kinda off :) It is slightly awkward to read. Many writers do not seem to bother with adding much rhythm, but I personally find that it infinitely enhances a work :P Perhaps the easiest way to check for rhythm wold be to read the work out lod and see how easy it is to read, and whether it sounds good.
The big variation between the different line sizes is also rather weird, I find. A gradual change in variation might be more welcome to experience. The current variation kinda kills off much possibility of a better rhythm .-. As I read this, I am naturally drawn to search for a rhythm, but even the illusion of any possibility of one is kinda broken as I read a line more than twice as long as the previous one .-.
Anywho, this aside, it's quite welcoming, and yeah! ^.^ Although I am slightly skeptical, as only a few days ago I heard reports of anti-gay works being posted on here ._. I do see that you try to keep it positive, though, so I guess that can be forgiven! ^.^

Anyway, overall I quite like it :3 A quite refreshing change from the typical negative themes that seem to haunt the works on here. Well done XD *gives chocolate medal :3*

I'm not sure. HighTop said he saw some .-.

That sucks. I don't understand why people think homosexuals shouldn't get married. I mean, if it makes them happy, then who cares? They're not hurting you.

Exactly! :P

Huh. A poetic welcoming message to all of YWS. Whatever next? It practically promises no worries about this website. However, as much as this is a nice welcoming message, don't forget that there are things that new members should be aware of. They must be aware that they should be carefully about what they post. People don't want to end up posting something that would end up being potentially offensive and nor should they be offensive when they read other people's work that they end up not liking. Also they need to remember that as they contribute to the site that they need to be as fair as possible. They must not out-rightly say "I hated this". They must give critique that will help others improve upon their writing. They themselves must also not be discouraged by harsh criticism. If they do that, they will never improve as writers. They must be able to listen to the advice of others before they make the decision to become writers themselves. You're right, this website can be a haven, but it can also be unwelcoming if people aren't willing to improve or if they aren't willing to help others improve. And anxiety can happen, unfortunately. Sometimes people feel their pride severed when they don't get as positive critique as they expect. They need to have the humility to accept criticism and improve upon their writing.

All in all, this was a good poem, just remember that while people are here to have a good time, they also need to know what they are getting into.

I was just writing about the positives, but alright!

Oh, I know, I didn't mean to sound like I was panning you, it just that I have had some new members send rather mouthy replies to me for harsh criticism on their work and I think to myself "Dude, don't post work on here if you're going to take criticism so personally." You know what I mean?

Ciblio replied · Apr 11, 2014

Totally. I need harsh criticism so that I can get better!

Way, way back in the 1988 Presidential election, then Vice President George H W Bush had a phrase he liked to use: "A Thousand Points of Light." It refers to the idea that a community is made up of people who contribute in a thousand, different small ways, but with each helping to illuminate their community. It's a phrase I think about a lot when it comes to YWS. Looking forward, the site will continue to change and grow, but it will always remain a community dedicated to promoting creative writing as a favorite pastime.
