Camp NaNo April ‘24: The Clocktower

As any year, of course my April is going to be super busy with graduate work and with teaching work, and with NaPo and NaNo, but I want to give myself a chance to write some xD

For April ‘24 Camp NaNo, I want to see what I can do with a kind of snapshot of an idea: for some reason I want to write about trains (even though I’ve never been on a true train I don’t think?) clocktowers, and small, mysterious festivals in small towns. Also, probably demons of some kind, but they won’t enter in until later.

I've loved every single slightly weird/odd/mysterious blend of gothic/historical/whatever fiction ??? And for some reason I really want to blend clocktowers and mysterious festivals xD

The fun part is I'll be learning with my protagonists as they come to the town :p

I also really want to include plenty of times for flashbacks/references to other time eras!

OMG, one of the books that I ~finished~ (which... um... doesn't happen very often, I'm afraid...) started on a train and involved vampires. It was pretty awesome. It kind of has similar vibes to what you're describing, so there is a potential that I will love this story, lol.

@Snoink That sounds so good ?!?! Some of my favorite movies have trains and vampires xD And lol I really need to -- I'm hoping maybe during the summer I can get a true vacation and sight see! Even further in California c:

My goal the next two weeks is to maybeeeee have some kind of plan/plot prepped so it makes my life easier but we'll see. Also, I need to use my planner to like plan out my days and not have any wasted time ;-;

... My brain is wiped right now. 0-0 April always gets too busy for me, but even if I'm kind of just spending a few minutes writing up notes in brackets, I think it's worth while to get something on a paper so that on less busy months, I can come back to it!
