Knights of the Green Room Great Hall

Knight Alliyah, Court Magician rode into the hall atop her unicorn and smiled at the assembly of knights gathered in the hall. It had been some moons since the Great Hall had been stirring with so much energy, yes, there was something in the air... excitement? foreboding? a new challenge? She was eager to be in contact with the @KotGRCommander soon to see what their take might be.

On her left she saw Knight @Spearmint holding a wiggling tortoise, on her right she saw a few knights @NovemberCrow and @OrabellaAvenue and @Roxanne pointing excitedly at some places on a rolled out map. Knight Alliyah passed a few posters over to Dragon Knight @BluesClues to pass out that said "FIGHT ROBOTS, WITH... POETRY? PROSE?" and made her way to the front to see the newest recruits!

@Floodlights - you've been a long time comrade in poetry, but we'd welcome your quick wit and humor in the battle field too, am I right in understanding you'd like to be a knight?

Floodlights reached in their backpack uncovering a ballad guitar and began singing a beautiful song of adventures, journeys, walking over the bones of enemies, and a journey of friends made along the way, the Great Hall had quieted to a hush, when suddenly a wailing could be heard from the back - Knight @EllieMae pointed to the owl companion who was perched on her shoulder that appeared to be ... sobbing?

Duo the Owl croaked "I'm sorry, the sentimental stuff! I can't handle it!"

Floodlights laid down the guitar and re-affirmed, "I wish to be a knight!"

Knight Alliyah nodded at her friend and handed them some sharpened training knives - "Glad to have you comrade! I'll entrust these to you until it's time to get a real blade - and task you with bringing back 10 green room reviews in a log! - Welcome aboard Squire Floodlights!


A few other knights rattled their shields in support. Then Squire Pixels (@pixels) made their way up smiling ear to ear - and handing Knight Alliyah their newly penned log. "Should be all here Magician!"

Alliyah did a quick review and nodded to Knight Looseleaf, Court Accountant (@looseleaf) who had been standing by with a clipboard ready. Looseleaf clapped her hands and a few of the office squires unrolled the Green Carpet, while the Knight band began to play their kazoos.

Alliyah beckoned Pixels forward, where Pixels kneeled before the assembly. "From this day forward Pixels, you shall be known as a Knight you shall vow to defend abandon literary works in the lands of the Green Room, Review with Bravery, and Critique with Courage. You shall defend the Green Room from foes and rescue Golden Geese from peril. Do you take this pledge?"

Pixels nodded and jumped up shouting "I WILL!"

The assembly erupted in applause and shouted with one voice "Huzzah!" to their newest knight!

Floodlights poked Knight BluesClues shoulder and asked "Did I hear you say something about fighting robots?"

after much dilly-dallying and more staring at the beasts than actually slaying them (she forgot to update her log), squire avian has finally completed her quest, and is now on her way to slay more beasts (she has found new motivation). you can see her accomplishments here!

After a long journey that took many months, Hope has slain 10 Beasts of the Green Room.

(Also, this might have been asked before but forgive me for asking again, but am I allowed to count the 7 reviews I have already done before discovering the green room knights, and just add them to my log? Or do I have to do 10 additional reviews?)

i wish to become a knight!

Knight Spearmint dramatically burst through the doors of the Great Hall, blasting German pop/rock music. "Er- wait- maybe that doesn't fit the whole knights theme?" She quickly conjured up a medieval German playlist instead, then unrolled a lengthy parchment scroll.

"Ahem. As Knight Alliyah, Court Magician and Knight Looseleaf, Court Accountant have been summoned away to quests in the fabled land of Rielyfe, the duty and honor of announcing updates to the ranks of the Knights of the Green Room falls to me!" Spearmint skipped over a few portions of the scroll, where frogs on mushrooms and surfing castles had been drawn.

"Alright, let's see here... Ah, I see Squire Avian (@Avian) and Squire HildegardHope (@HildegardHope) have successfully slain ten Green Beasts each! Well done. For your valor and persistence, I now name you Knight Avian and Knight HildegardHope! Go forth and review!"

The Great Hall resounded with cheers and applause. Knight Avian stood a little straighter (perhaps even levitated a few inches in the air?) and Knight HildegardHope looked regal with her luminous eyes and curled horns.

Knight Spearmint smiled and peered at the scroll again. "Oh, is that where my conlang notes went?" She rolled the upper portion of the scroll up and continued.

"Welcome to the Knights of the Green Room, @inksthewriter and @radiogrl! Here are some training knives to aid you in your quests of slaying ten Green Beasts. I look forward to knighting you soon, Squire Inksthewriter and Squire Lina! Do let us know if you would prefer a different knightly name by specifying it in the title of your log, or by announcing it in this Great Hall."

Spearmint reached the end of the scroll. "I believe that's all, folks! Happy reviewing!!"

As she was rolling up the scroll, a small piece of parchment slipped free. "Oh, what have we here?" Pumpkins and spiderwebs decorated the parchment. "Of course! It's a decidedly spooky time of the year... and I do believe some themed events are going on. Hm, perhaps the Knights of the Green Room should hold a pumpkin-carving contest?"

Spearmint pondered pumpkin scones and apple cider as knights and squires bustled about the Green Room, preparing to venture out and slay more Green Beasts.

After a long, long journey filled with far too many side quests, Squire Forest has finally slain the 10 beasts!!!!! HUZZAH!!!

Well, I suppose I should apply for membership too =D
Now to find out how to do a log!
hah, and to think all this happened just because I stumbled upon The Ultimate YWS Word Crawl!
