Sarafind stumbled into our room a little while after I got back. She looked distraught but that didn't matter to me. I walked up, tripped her, and pinned her to the ground. Even with just feeding, I am still a better fighter. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I screamed.

"Uh," she moaned, "not you too. Will no one let me live this down."

"In case you haven't noticed, we are trying to keep a low profile. Not to mention you forgot to remove the venom from her."

She laughed, "I did not."

"I just saw her, you did forget."

"Oh," she showed no remorse, "well at least she won't talk."

"Yeah but now we have a new vampire on our hands."

"Why would we..." she saw the cut on my hand, "you didn't!"

"I had to!" I screamed.

"Fabulous," she groaned, "I will never hear the end of this."

"End of this?! You ruined a young girl's life!"

"Stop being so melodramatic."

"No, now she is going to want to feed immediately and not to mention, everyone knows now your a vampire."

"Whatever."

"Sarafind, there are consequences for your actions."

"Yeah right," she snorted, "What are you going to do?"

I smiled, "You are going to be her mentor."

Her eyes widened, "No!"

"Yes. You are in charge of teaching her the ropes of being a vampire. No matter how long it takes. You are in charge of getting her safe meals and if someone dies because of her, it is your fault. She is your responsibility 24/7 until she dismisses you."

Sarafind looked horrifid and I was happy, at least she gets what she deserves.

Tatsel leaves, leaving me to our room alone, and I glance around, tapping my fingers on my desk.

What would I be doing on a Thursday night? Oh, Right. I already practiced. The big game is tomarrow.

I sigh and stand, walking out to just wonder around. Girls smile at me as I walk by and I halfheartedly smile back, hating how every girl that I date I never actually love. Shaking my head at the thought, I go to my locker and pull out a book. I hide it behind me and walk to the library, sitting down in the back as I start reading. I've never been myself around people before, and this is how I let it go.

I strolled through the library, looking for a little light reading. Lately, I'd been on a sci-fi streak, but I'd decided to try something different this time. A Brief History of Time--that would do. I'd already read it about ten times, but one more wouldn't hurt me.

I sat down at a table and turned to the first page. I always found this one interesting, but today, I just couldn't get into it. I closed the book again, sighing. What had Sarafine been thinking? She could have blown everyone's cover. She was lucky nothing more had happened. I shook my head. Poor Heike--to have to choose between death and becoming a vampire? At least I was safe. I had fed just before Sarafine's incident, so I could at least lay low for a while.

I flipped my book open again, but the sound of footsteps distracted me. I looked up, and watched as Chase sat down at a table near the edge of the room and open a book of his own.

"Chase," I said. "Got an exam tomorrow?"

"No," Chase replied.

Huh. How odd.

"What are you reading?" I asked.

I’m hanging out in one of the schools ventilation systems, trying to enjoy my meal. Although it’s pretty hard to enjoy peace and quiet when there are screaming vampires right beneath you. I roll my eyes, open the vent and drop to the floor.

It’s Tatsel and Heike. “Yo bro. Hands off the newbie.” I say separating the two. I pull out a bottle from my bad that contains something red and toss it to Heike. Both Vampires look at me questioningly.

“I have my ways and means just like everyone else. Now, bottoms up before you kill someone.” I gesture towards Heike and turn towards her companion. “So I just saw our teacher lay a beat down on Sarafine. For ultra-powerful immortals, you sure get your asses handed to you a lot.”

When I got back to the dorm Nadia was no where in sight, so I decided to take a shower and wash away all of this filth and excitement. I tossed my shower gel, loufa, shampoo, towel, and anything else i might need in a study bag and headed for the shower room, which I had no idea where it was. On my way out of the room somebody else ran into me. Really? A sigh of relief rushed through at the sight of Isobel. I smiled in greeting.

"Hi Isobel. I'm sorry, I should've watched where I was going. Are you ok?" I picked up my bag and handed Isobel her journal.

"Thanks," she hugged her journal tightly to her chest. "and i'm fine. No harm done. Are you ok?"

"No harm, no foul." I shrugged. "Hey, would you mind showing me where the showers are? If you're not busy or anything."

"Sure," she walks ahead. "follow the leader"

And I did. For the first minute we didn't say anything, but i remembered her talking about music in class.

"So," I began. "you play guitar and piano?"

"Yes" was all she said.

Ok, let's try this again.

"I love playing the guitar, and you can do alot of creative thing with a piano." i tucked a lock of hair behind my ear.

That got her attention. She turned her head. "You play?"

"Oh yea" I nodded. "I play just about everything you could imagine."

"What kind of guitar do you prefer?" she looked at me.

"Acoustic." I answered. "Something about the way it sounds just makes me feel like i don't have a care in the world"

She smiled softly. "I know the feeling."

For the next few minutes we didn't talk. I don't know how many people we walked by, but they watched as we went by. I could feel their eyes on my back. Instead of thinking about them an errant thougth passed my mind. Sarafine. When I was with her in the hallway. I could someone's eyes on us. Someone had been watching, but who?

"Well," the sound of Isobel's voice broke my train of thought. "here we are"

She motioned towards something and turned to see a door with one of those little people on it like you see in resturants. A pink women in a nondescript dress beneath the words SHOWER ROOM. I turned around and across the hall was the exact same door with a blue man with the same thing written on it.

"Thanks Isobel," I turned back towards her. "I would've gotten lost in this place. And if you want we can play together sometime. You can show me what you got."

"You're welcome." She smile and walked away. "And I may take you up on that offer"

I'd just opened the door when she called back. She walked up to me.

"You do know there are showers in the dorm rooms, right?" she asked.

Mental face slap.

"Uh...." I blushed. "Totally"

Her lip twiched pretty hard. She was trying not to laugh in my face. I can respect that, I think.

"Ok then," she busted out laughing anyway. "since we both know you're lying, we'll just go our separate ways."

I sighed. "Bye Isobel."

She was too busy laughing to say anything back and took her leave. It's a good thing I put more make-over my scar or nobody would've been able to look me in the face. I walked into the bathroom and looked around. Midnight blue marble floor and matching counter tops. Nice. I heard someone singing and welcomed it. Who ever it was had a beautiful. I even sang along to the song. Everyone back home loved my voice. Singing was in my blood."No One" by Aly and AJ Michalka. Nice choice. I picked a spot and got down to business. It didn't take me long and I was out in five minutes. I was putting everything back in my bag when someone rounded the corner and came into view through the mirror. I was Trinity.

"Oh," I blinked. "Hello Trinity. You have a very beautiful voice."

"Thanks, you too." was all she said before she scurried out the door.

I finished putting my things up and headed out.

I get lost in the commotion at the nurse's office for a while, but once that's all over I go to the shower room while it's still empty and half way through someone else must come in because another voice joins mine in song. When I get out I find it is Ms. Wenchester, she gives me a compliment and I nervously return it. Then, a little embarassed, I hurry back to my dorm. Ian's not back yet and I'm glad, if she understood what I meant before then she knows I'm a vampire, and I really don't feel like going through all of that right now. I'll talk to her in the morning though, I'll have to. I set my alarm clock a lot earlier than I did last night and go on to bed.

I must've slept really well because after what seems like only minutes I am awoken by the sound of The Backstreet Boys' "Back to Your Heart." Good song. I get up and sing along as I get ready. I feel like wearing clothes that are a little dressier today. I pull on my black dress pants and a purple blouse, along with black wedges and my pendant. I leave my hair down and use only a black headband. I look over to check, but Ian must have left even earlier, if she even came back last night. I clean out my neon yellow, over-the-shoulder purse and put everything I'll need for the day in it, and my books in my bright orange backpack. It's audition day and I have to be completely focused, it couldn't be at a worse time, not only is there a lot of drama, but I really need to feed, soon! I'm still singing and go to turn off the radio alarm clock when there is a knock at the door. Much to my surprise, and horror, it's Sarafine.

She pushes me into the room and shuts the door behind her. "How could you betray your own kind like that!?" she snaps, "What is the matter with you, I should turn you in for that!" "I only told Ian, she kind of forced it out of me." I answer. "You better watch your back, because I'm coming after you." she threatens. She shoves me, knocking my small bookcase and all of my books over and onto me,I am completely buried in this pile, she exits and leaves the door wide open. I dig myself out and find I have a few paper cuts and bruises, and I twisted my ankle, it hurts to walk properly on it, but other than that I'm alright. I shut the door and clean up my cuts. I leave the bookcase and books all over the room and head to class. I'm the first one there and I take my seat in the front corner. Ms. Wenchester notices I'm slightly limping, though I'm trying to hide it, it hurts too much to walk correctly. She must also see my cuts and bruises. "What happened to you?" she asks. Just then Sarafine walks in. In response to Ms. Wenchester I just put my head down and ignore her, hopefully she knows what it means, because Sarafine and I are the only two students in the room. I look up and Ms. Wenchester is back at her desk.

I was so relieved when I walked into the nurse's office to see that vampire couples' manwich laying on the cot, unconcious but alive. I had been feeling awful about not telling an administrator the whole afternoon, but never got the courage to do so. At that moment, however, I again almost told someone, but didn't. Coward, I think to my self, self-loatheing consuming me. But then it washes away, with the fact that someone must have told the admin already, so me telling wouldn't help at all reassuring me.

So, that night, I actually did do some studying, and got a lot done. I finished all of my homework, not just for the day, but for the whole week. I was even done early, too. So, plopping on my bed with a bowl of cheerios for dinner, I searched the internet for monologues and songs for my drama audition. After searching for over an hour, I finally found the right momologue and song. The monologue is one from Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, and the song is "Defying Gravity" by Wicked!. I practiced both for about an hour, and then decided to go to bed early.

* * *

The next day, at breakfast, I sit in my usual spot, alone in the corner. I turn up my music and delve into my book, as usual. Until I feel someone tap me on the shoulder. Jumping up in my seat, fearing that the vampires saw me in the woods yesterday, I am suprised and happy to see Trinity sit across from me.

"Little jumpy there?" She asks, jokingly.

Then I zero in on the bruises and cuts all over her. Not really knowing if I actually want to know the answer to the question I'm about to ask, I do anyway. "What happened?"

She looks down at her various injuries, and says unconvincingly, "Oh, that... I fell." Yeah, right, I think, but don't say anything about it. I don't want to ask too many personal questions and end up pushing her away. She's the first person that's really been nice to me since I got here.

I walked into class as everyone toke there seats. That new teacher was sitting at her desk grading papers. I sat down in the back of the class. I wanted to have a good view of Sarafind and Trinity; a fight in class would be all I would need. Even though I was worried about us being found out, I was also very content. I finaly got something to eat last night.
...............................................................................................
Last night around midnight my thirst got so bad that I couldn't stand it a moment longer. I did my best to keep calm and used my logic. I will not do anything to get us caught . I was as quiet as a mouse as I crept to the boy's dorm and into room 552. Tatsel and Chase were both asleep in bed when I peeked inside the room. I bent down next to Chase when I herd Tatsel's voice break the silence. "Are you that thirsty Anna?"

I looked over to him, "pleas don't judge me but I need a clear head right now. If I lose control I am going to end up like James."

"Do what you got to do," he said with a grumble and rolled over.

I bent down and found his pulse. I enjoyed the smell, the sound for a few moments. After two months, I treat this like I am drinking the finest wine in the world. I coverd his eyes with my hand just in case he woke up, and sunk my teeth into his neck. Oh, his blood was so good. When I finished, I was careful to remove the venom and did my best to cover up the marks. I dabbed a little concealer on the skin. The punctures should go away in about a day or two and hopefully he wont notice it. I sneaked out of the room and went back to bed in peace.
.................................................................................................
I watched Trinity all through out class. How could a vampire rat on another? I know Sarafind was wrong to be so careless but that doesn't make it right to squeal. I hope they can work this out. I really don't want to get into this anymore than I have to but I will to protect my family.

After I toss Heike her snack, I slip into class quickly and quietly. Luna glances up at me but doesn’t seem to care that I’m late. Sarafine is seething and giving me a death stare. I smile at her and pull out a can of mosquito spray. Her scowl deepens. I notice Raven and Trinity speaking softly. Trin’ is covered in bumps and bruises. I feel a flare of anger. I decide to sit between Tatsel and Anna.
I quietly hand a note over to Anna.

I won’t mess with your family, if they don’t mess with mine. I’m extending my hand in friendship. Consider me a kind of ambassador, need blood? I can get it for you no problem.

P.s. I case you deny my offer there are at least three humans in this room that know who most of you are. Keeping a low profile isn’t exactly working out with your group, is it?

I looked down at Ian's note. I reread it several times and did my best to respond aproprietly.
Dear Ian
I would like to accept your offer but first you must understand my posision. This must be decided among all of us. I am not a dictator and I cannot pretend to be able to control all members of this, err, family. And even if we decide to follow your agreement, I fear that some may not be as inclined to the idea of depending on humans to give us food. Some prefer to be able to take it for themselves. I wish things were so easy that a simple 'we don't mess with you, you won't mess with us' arrangement. I fear the dispute between our kind and yours in this school has only begun.

I go over Anna’s reply thoughtfully

Dear Anna,

You seem like a good person. I understand that some might not take to the idea. I am by nature not a violent person. Others however are not so kind. When you present my offer to the others, may I suggest that you mention that there is a good chance that they’ll be killed? Gruesome but effective.

For those that enjoy the thrill of the hunt, I don’t mind that. As long as they take it off campus, if they bite a student Its preferred they be willing. I know myself and possibly others are open to the idea of a… blood drive.

I hope for this agreement to hopefully lead to a day where Vampire and humans can co-exsist without trying pop a cap in each other some day.

For the most part class was quiet. I gave them their assignment. It was something simple. I wanted them to name the main twelve Greek gods and tell what they did. Of course I went over it with them before they began. And everything was going good until Sarafine raised her hand and called on me.

"Yes?" I looked at her.

"Did the gods ever rat on one another?" she asked.

"Yes" I answered. "Why do you ask?"

The veins in her neck looked like they were about ready to pop out and her eyes glowed like magma.

"And what happened?" she asked.

"The outcome was never good for the humans if that's what you mean." I told her.
"Why all the questions?"

"Just curious." she shrugged and went back to work.

Then Trinity raised her hand. "Ms. Wenchester, was there probable cause?"

"In some cases yes, it was justified." I nodded.

"This is just a shot in the dark here, but what if they attacked, or even killed a lesser god or a human?" she pushed.

I looked back at Sarafine. She was s

"Yes," was my answer.

"So the person who did this so called 'ratting' isn't to be blamed for something another person did wrong?" she gave a humorless laugh. "If the perosn who was 'ratted' on was smart enough not to get caught in the first place there would be no problem would there?"

Sarafine's fists came down so hard on the desk she left dents in it. she stood up and locked eyes with Trinity. "If you have something say, then say it"

Trinity stood up."If the person who was 'ratted' on was dumb enough to get caught doing the crime, then shouldn't she have the balls to own up to it?"

Sarafine snapped and launched herself at Trinity. And man did they go at it.

"Somebody go get help and go now!" I ran over towards tussle.

Chase shot out of the room like a bullet. They were attacking each other like rabid dogs. I pulled them off the ground, or at least tried to when one of them scratched me on my neck, but I didn't stop.

"Somebody get over here and help me!" I shouted.

I don't know who, but the next thing I know the girls are pulled apart. It was Nadia. Thank the lord. I had the unholy honor of holding Sarafine. Yay. She bucked on me so hard we fell to the floor and my shoulder popped out of place. Not the best timing. Sarafine tried to strangle me, but I got her on the ground with my arm to her neck.

"Somebody hold her down for me please" I called.

Anna came up and took over for me.

"Thanks." I got up and sat down on the window sill.

Just then Chase came back in with giant men behind him. Sarafine and Trinity were taken out of the room kicking and screaming.

"Ms. Wenchester, are you ok?" Anna asked.

"No," I started unbuttoning my jacket. "my shoulder's been dislocated and i need to pop it back in place."

"Is there anything I can do to help?" she offered.

"Help me get out of this jacket" I told her.

Once that was done she took a couple of frantic breaths.

"Ok, you're gonna have to hold me still while i do this, because if you don't i'll have to do this again, and I don't like doing this a first." I put my hand on my shoulder.

Anna looked like she wanted to run away screaming.

"Now, let's do this on the count of three ok?" I stared ar her.

She nodded.

"One, two, three!."

I wrenched and shoved my shoulder back into place witha loud crack and pop. Then it was over. I moved my arm around to make sure I did right. All good. Iput my jacket back on and stood up.

"Thanks for your help Anna I appreciate it" I smiled at her.

"You're welcome" she smiled back.

"Now you can get back to work" I commented.

Her jaw dropped. I turned around. My students looked at me like I was crazy.

"What?" I asked.

I posted yesterday but seems like YWS deleted it. :/ God, so annoying!

Pearl

I put my alarm to my 6.00 in the morning, and put on my headphones in. Humming to "Primadonna" by Marina & the Diamonds, I kept back all my accessories in place, back to each box and then keeping it safely in the drawer. I was pretty much a "clean" person when it comes to these stuff but when checking out the other side of the room which belonged to [my roommate, it seems everyone's booked except Pearl.], it was okay. But yeah, out of all, our room still looked untidy.

[Roommate] came out of the washroom and closing the door behind her. She tied her hair back. We never had any time to talk to each other so, I decided to talk but before I could, she fulfilled my wishes.

"Try to wake up a little early tomorrow, kay'?" she says, smiling.

"Yeah, I put my alarm to 6o'clock in the morning. The earliest." I replied.

"6.00? That's a little late, don't you think? After all, you've got a lot of stuff to do. Bathing, dressing, make-up, putting in your books. It might take more than an hour."

"Yeah, but I'll try to jump in by 7.00." I say.

"Pearl, you have to reach there by 7.00." [Roommate] says, grinning.

I shrugged. "Okay, is 5.45, fine?" I ask.

"That's when I wake up. So, I guess, yeah. But you'll have to wait for the washroom."

"Then, I'll wake up after 5 minutes. Glory!"

We both laugh and get on to our beds, and I put my music into the fullest, wrapping the blanket over me. I fixed my alarm. Smiling and soon not realizing, I was off. To a whole new day.

x---x

I woke up to sound of the showers and put my head back in again. [Roommate] came out and I smiled, with my eyes half shut.

"Good morning." I say in my sleepiest voice.

"Mornin', Pearl. You might want to hurry. I think you didn't hear your alarm. Its 6. " she says, and my eyes widen.

Jumping off the bed, I soon take a bath and get dressed. Putting on my two-strapped beige, polka heart top, and my navy blue jeans, I fixing my hair. Pulling my bangs back to one side, and tying my other to the same side. I put on a ribbon made belt and some make-up on. Switching to my black heals, pulling out some books [Roommate]'s done with her's and she waves at me, and I return the favor.

Running to class, well not really. More like jogging because of my heals, I swish to class and I stand there. Ms. Wenchester was talking to them about a test and she looks at me.

"One minute late, Pearl. Come early next time." she says, and points over to my chair.

It was next to Molly, and I go in and take my seat. As she distributes the papers to write, I pop in to write. I can score this. It was all to easy! Then Trinity and Sarafine ask questions about "ratting" on some gods which was more like what happened yesterday! More like VAMPIRE talks. So, out of the blue, Sarafine grabs and kicks on to Trinity and it turns into a full-on cat fight. Molly is terrified and is behind me. I roll my eyes.

"Break it up you guys!" I scream through the ruckus. Chase goes off to get some men and I can see Luna trying to get hold of both of them. I go over to Sarafine and grab her back but she won't let go. Nadia comes to help and tells me to move aside, and bam! She grabs the heck out of her and whispers something to Sarafine that I'm not too sure off.

I sigh and moaned. I saw Luna's dislocated her arm and Anna came to help her. We all saw what she was doing, and boom! This time, she got it in and I wanted to puke and run out! Then, she turns to us and asks, "What?"

"We were perfectly fine with writing, you know?" I tell her and Luna groans.

"Back to work y'all!" she says, giving me a look.

Its just the start of the day and its already so yuk! So, not in the mood for this day.

My neck somehow hurting terribly, I ignore it and sit back down when the girls stop fighting. My gang crowds me again, but I can't seem to stay confused on why my neck is stinging. Plus, Nadia caught me in the library reading. That could ruin my whole reputation.

When she walks into class, late, I make sure I give her that stare. The one that I always give nerds in computer class that says- You EVER tell anybody, and I will run the whole school against you without a second glance.

She swallows and sits, which makes me look back at Ms. Luna.

"Chase," She starts, looking at me, "What is.." Her eyes set on my neck and I set my hand atop it, feeling two marks. No way.

My friends start freaking out, yelling, and I glare at them. They shut up, knowing that's the wise thing to do, and I glance around the room.

"If this is the bright idea," I start, "Any vampire in this room, better cut the crap now. Go bother someone else at night. I'm off limits."

Everyone 'oohhs' and 'ahhs' and I stand, fixing my jackets before I walk out of class without saying anything, and off to the gym.
