It's the happiest time of the year! 2025 is coming to an end and what better way to celebrate than take a look back at all the people and events that took place and made your YWS experience cheery and bright. Everyone is welcome to post and share their appreciation, no matter how long you've been a member.

Your post can be whatever you want: shout-outs to beloved friends, favourite poems or stories, or other highlights that really shone for you during 2025 on YWS.

Nate wrote:This is pretty much a free-for-all. Like any yearbook, you can simply leave a very short message, or if you like, leave a very long and rambling message. Talk about your favorite YWS memories from the past year such as friendships you have made or how YWS has helped you with your writing. If you just joined a few days ago (or even several months ago), write about joining YWS.

Artwork and pictures are welcome.

The YWS Yearbook has been a tradition for many, many years and remains a longstanding archive of the impressive community over the years. Feel free to browse past yearbooks for inspiration!

My Year on YWS

Image

    - Under a Waning Sun: I started this roleplay in January, and 120k words later, we are halfway through a story I've grown to love, with a group of friends I've grown to love even more. Super thankful for you guys.

Image

    - Ordadus: In the summer of 2025, I joined this roleplay run by Wolfi and have since had no regrets. It's been super fun and I love the friends I get to write with. The worldbuilding is superb and I love how deeply collaborative it's been.

    - NAPO Month / NAPO Week: You know what's wild? Is how so much in my life changed between April and October that I barely remembered either, but especially the former. I'm glad the beginning of this year was full of so much thoughtful reflection on intimacy with Jesus, but to be honest, most of my poetry and songwriting has been off YWS, where no one will ever see it. A quick count shows I've written at least 26 completed songs this year, with plenty of unfinished ones sitting in my notes.

    - The Lost Dragon: This year, I finished a fourth draft of my novel during Camp NovMo in April, and it was the first draft that felt real. I planned a lot, I wrote on a disciplined schedule, and wrote 120k words with 30+ graphic novel pages. I did, however, still get burnt out -- but that was when I subjected myself to real beta-reader feedback. It was a learning process. A necessary one, and I feel thicker skin for it, but it was hard at first. I hope to hit the next draft hard in 2026 with hopes to publish... someday soon.

My Year Off YWS

    - My friends' 2-year DND campaign, "Tome of Plane's End" finished at the end of the summer. And thus, my half-elf life cleric, Rae Alanna Keisner, has been retired as a character. She was fun to play, but I'm also happy to move on to the next thing!

    - I am now GM for my friends' new DND campaign, and it's set in my original world of The Nye. I'm four sessions in and enjoying it for all of the joys and challenges. It's been a great opportunity to grow and also share my inner creative world with my friends in a new way! Art I drew of the party below!

Image

    - I was blessed to visit so many friends at the beginning of this year. Some came to see me, others I went to visit. I got to go to the beach, and for the first time in a long time, take vacations that were sincerely refreshing.

    - I finished two playthroughs of Baldur's Gate 3. This was my guilty pleasure timesink.

    - I completed a journal in one year. This is a big deal for me, because I've been slowly trying to move back to journaling regularly enough to accomplish this.

And everything else was left unwritten, because it was lived <3

Thank you to the friends along the way who let me bless them, and who blessed me in turn. Here's to another.

Happy New Year!

~ [2014] [2016] ~

I regreened on December 30, 2024, after a long break from moldy duties (six years, I think?). My life had a comfortable, steady rhythm, opening up the capacity for YWS again. Even though I wasn't writing anymore, I wanted to reconnect with the younger Wolfi who loved it so much.

@soundofmind reached out to me at the beginning of 2025 to see if I'd be interested in joining another storybook set in the world of Nye. I was so down. It was a little daunting at first to get my sea legs back, but Under a Waning Sun has been the best roleplay experience I've ever had. sound is a fantastic DM, and I've learned so much from working with her, @Silvern, @winterwolf0100, @Lael, and @Corvid. Our cozy Monday write-ins have become a staple of my weekly routine and I love writing with you all.

In March, I traveled outside of the country for the first time to meet my boyfriend's family on the other side of the globe!

I participated in NaPo for the first time with my thread Lest We Forget. It was a beautifully reflective month. Shoutout to @Quillfeather, @alliyah, @Que, and @Liminality in particular for encouraging the poet in me (deep down somewhere in there <.<).

As RPMo was nearing, the urge to start my own storybook was getting stronger and stronger. I picked up my old fantasy world Ordadus and had an absolute blast compleeetely overhauling the worldbuilding to set the stage for a roleplay, greatly inspired by sound's DM style. When I opened up five character slots, by complete chance, four were snatched up by my UWS buddies, and @theromanticchemist rounded out the group! Experiencing such skilled writers bring Ordadus to life has been an absolute delight, and I'm so grateful for you all.

I became engaged in July! It's taken me until about now to get used to wearing a ring LOL.

In mid-October, I received the honor of becoming a Global Moderator!

My digital marketing job was becoming increasingly toxic, so I was spending a lot of my evenings job-hunting - such an endless, disheartening cycle! In late October, I finally accepted a new marketing position. It's been a welcome change, though the fully in-person schedule has taken some getting used to after working fully remote for most of the year.

In other news, I'm continuing to work on a couple video game development projects with friends, I'm in the process of preparing my first-ever D&D campaign, and I almost always have a painting commission or two to work on. My fiance and I are currently hunting for a new apartment, and once we move, we're adopting a puppy!

Some extra little shout-outs:
Spoiler
@Ravena I so appreciate your sunny presence on this site, from the photos of your animals to the words of the week to your amazing art! Your love for this site and the arts in general is contagious <3

@canopy you can be delightfully goofy and funny some of the time (see: xD vs XD) and so mature and hard-working at other times (see: JM mode). I love and appreciate both sides of you! Thanks for all you do!

@Tikaya you have been an absolute blessing to the site in your short time here so far. Thank you for inspiring me and others to review!

@AlexWrites you are conscientious, kind, and passionate <3

@ToastK thank you for your consistent willingness to lend a hand! One of your top love languages seems to be making art for your friends - it's a beautiful thing to see :3

@Messenger there aren't many folks I can tag who are still active and knew me back when I first joined. You received my first ever terrible review, and look at us now as moldy buddies!

@inksthewriter your art style is SO unique and I love it so much

I feel like @soundofmind, @cocteau, and @pixels would make a killer standup comedy trio. You three are all so wonderfully witty and I love witnessing the funny and thoughtful things that come out of your brains <3

@Spearmint @Iggy @alliyah thank you for your perpetual helpfulness!
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled
and do not be afraid.

Lullavieve’s 2025

2025 started off with a bang!, as I was filled with high hopes, high expectations, and a lot to look forward to in the new year! I had bold resolutions and big plans… although some of them didn’t turn out as I had hoped. Let’s get started on what my year looked like!

NaPo Thread April ‘25 - The last month before May
In the thick of wedding planning and house preparation… I attempted NaPo this year. I didn’t reach 30 poems, but I am proud of what I did write. April was a year of reflection before change, as I was moving out of my childhood bedroom and embarking on a new adventure. My theme this year was heavily inspired by birds, nature, flowers, and nostalgia. I had so much fun brainstorming and crafting these poems (alongside @Quillfeather) and sharing them with others. This NaPo, while incomplete, is one of the most special NaPo attempts I have had.

May '25
We closed on our house on April 17th and we got married on May 3rd! Being a wife and adapting to this new life has been the biggest part of the year for me. I love my husband so dearly, and we are slowly creating the life we have always hoped for, together. We took our honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and stayed in a cute cabin in the mountains. It was an absolutely amazing trip, with so many memories that I will cherish forever. On May 31st, we got our brown tabby kitten, Lucy! She has been such a joy in our lives and I have discovered just how much I love cats (after being a dog person my whole life). May was the beginning of this new chapter of life!

June 30, 2025 - Changed my name from Lullaby to Genevieve. Genevieve is a name I absolutely adore, and I felt so comfortable being called “Gen” that it felt really natural to me.

Camp NovMo July ‘25: Project N.Q.
This one is a doozy. I had been brainstorming and outlining a novella idea I had become pretty passionate about. It revolved around Daisy and Theo, a boy and a girl that meet in high-school and their lives just seem to cross at numerous points throughout their formative years. This is a story about friendship, crushes, heart-break, and discovering your place in this world at such a young age. I love this story, but I had gotten so lost and overwhelmed that I ended up losing excitement for it. Which, I know, is natural for any novel or big project. I really hope to one day pick up this project, and try a new approach! For now, though, it will stay in my mind and Google docs until that time comes. I appreciate all and any support I had for this!

August ‘25
On August 7th, I turned 24 years old! It’s still hard to grasp, as I feel like I have been stuck at 17. Although, I think I grew up a lot this year, and have started to feel like an “adult” with all the changes in my life and the maturity I have had to develop. I really love being 24 though, as I still feel so young and hopeful, yet I have some experience under my belt! My brain is still developing though… and that’s a pretty obvious fact haha.
The CoolCatsKeep opened on August 25th! I had no idea this riseup pad would be as popular as it was. This pad was filled with memories of writing, chatting, and everything fun. It was so nice to go into the pad during my work days and talk to people! I got to know so many individuals and grow close friendships. While it got overwhelming, and I ultimately decided to move on from it, it was a fun period of time that I do not regret.

RevMo: September ‘25 - 33 Reviews
Yes, I failed to reach my pink name glory. BUT! I wrote 33 reviews this month, which landed me my third review star! I really love reviewing, although it takes a lot of time and energy to really read and process people’s work. A part of me really loves studying and critiquing writing, particularly poetry, and that really showed this month for me! I hope my reviews were only helpful and introspective.

2 Years on YWS - September 21st
I reached 2 years on YWS! Which isn’t entirely true. As with a previous YWS account, I was active for roughly 2-3 years on. So even though this account is only 2 years old, I feel like I’ve been a part of YWS for a bit longer! Here’s to more years!

NaPo Week Thread: October ‘25 - brought back to life by the dead man’s hand
I was tempted and convinced into participating in NaPo Week this year! I had been burnt out by review month and, honestly, just pretty tired and lost in my writing. So, I took a small break to dedicate a week to poetry (my beloved). I took a different approach to my poetry this week. This was fun, but challenging. I love telling stories in poetry, but I found I put myself in a box, and it was hard to tell the story I wanted to in just 7 poems. This was very experimental for me, though, so I did learn some things from this experience!

December 15, 2025 - Changed my name from Genevieve to Lullavieve. This decision was based on me wanting all my usernames to be in sync. I wanted to have a name that was unique, not-taken, and stood out from the rest on multiple platforms. Ironically, it ended up being a mix of Lullaby and Genevieve. Although now, I can go by either Gen or Lulla. I’ve really been enjoying this new name change, even though I loved the user Genevieve.

*a ☆ represents my favorite books of the year

This year has been my most involved year on YWS yet, and I have made such fantastic memories. Looking back on the year made me realize just how packed 2025 was with action! It’s been a great one, and I thank God for each and every moment. 2026, here I come!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

2025

JANUARY
(technically... late December) published 9th edition of COOP Zine link

FEBRUARY
enjoyed drama regarding the YWS helicopter / time machine link also enjoyed sending 130 chicken gifts for YWS's gift giving weekend which I think I may have sent out the most, but the results were never tallied up. Nonetheless it was fun to participate.

APRIL - really enjoyed my napo thread "a tree of infinite roots" this year, and felt like there were some strong poems throughout. I did end up writing 30 poems, though the last couple were written outside of April. Enjoyed participated in the community this month too.

Image

MAY - In May we released the "Best of COOP" zine celebrating 10 COOP editions, this was really fun to put together and I made sure to get one copy professionally printed for myself too. It turned out great and can be accessed at coopzine.com.
Image

In May I also celebrated my 13th cake day.

JULY - This month I hosted a couple fighting AI contests post. And also celebrated KotGR reaching 200 Knights! post

OCTOBER - In October I participated in NaPo Week which was super fun, and continued the tree theme for it. Really in love with the poems I did for this week in a thread called "weathered roots"

Image

We also got a new spooky Coop zine published in October! here which was super fun to do a themed edition. I also participated (somewhat!) in Inktober on YWS, which was a lot of fun, though only got around to posting a few of my art projects -> thread.

General Year Review

Overall, I didn't write a ton this year, I've been busy with work mostly - though I did get a few devotionals published in 2025 (yay!) and was one of the primary speakers at a national conference for work, which was also a lot of fun, but took a lot of time as well. I did write and record 2 songs, and am hoping to do more in 2026. Looking at 2026 I'm very much hoping to get more into writing more and especially working on my ancestry related writing projects; we'll see where I get!

YWS-wise I wasn't as active this year, but still treasure the opportunity to have been involved with this creative community throughout the year. Thank you to those who reviewed/commented or shared your poetry, especially during NaPo this last year - it was so much fun (especially thank you to poetry crew past and present - @Quillfeather @EllieMae @Meshugenah @Plume @Que @Avian @cocteau & @Lavvie for all your work in NaPo and NaPo Week - what a fun event!) - thank you also to all the wonderful GMs and admins for being wonderful to work with in moderating and being such lovely, talented, kind, and creative folks to work with too @Iggy @Wolfi @Spearmint @EllieMae @keystrings @Snoink @Meshugenah @Omni @Plume) Thank you to the rest of the hardworking JM Team, it's a pleasure to work with you all - @Leya @Ranger @winterwolf0100 @NovemberCrow @canopy @NadyaStaham @Roxanne @Messenger @ToastK) Thank you to all the oldies who continue to pop in to inspire, encourage, and grace us with your wonderful iconic presence @Liminality @Hannah @BluesClues @keystrings @Hijinks @niteowl @looseleaf @AresFig @soundofmind. Thank you to all the YWSers who continue to bring such a vibrant, lively, and kind energy to this community. Thank you to @Rook for being an absolutely fabulous co-editor for COOP and keeping this project going all this time later, I'm so proud of what we've accomplished!

Thank you all for being part of my 2025, may your new year be blessed with kindness, grace, hope, creativity, and lots of poetry!
