The darkness chases us all,
with outstretched arms.
Cackling with the joy of our fear.
And the few that notice
are casted away.
With a label reading
"DEFECTIVE! DEFECTIVE!"
And the blind eyes of the many
look down at the few.
Forcing us to watch in silence
as the darkness surrounds us,
and consumes us.
The many, still looking down at us.
"REJECTS! REJECTS!"
They exclaim.
Until we the few
put our hands over our eyes,
force a smile,
and say,
I made it up.
"It's just a poem!"
"It's just a story!"
Then being aloud to continue.
Marching blindly.
Ignoring the things we see.
Because they can't.
Ignoring the things we hear.
Because it's "wrong".
Ignoring the feelings...
exclaiming with tears in our eyes,
"I just like to write!"
For our eternal punishment.
We the few...

Amazing just amazing *Applause*
The darkness chases us all,
with outstretched arms.(Great personification right here)
Cackling with the joy of our fear. (Cackling great word choice)
Chills just went down my spine, I love that hair raising experience when your reading something so dark, or chilling to the bone that it feels as if fingers are trailing down your back.
And the blind eyes of the many
look down at the few. (I like the contradiction, or irony. Blind eyes, yet they look down at you.)
Forcing us to watch in silence
as the darkness surrounds us,
and consumes us. (I can see the darkness opening its mouth engulfing everything, story of my life XD) Great imagery!
The many, still looking down at us.
"REJECTS! REJECTS!"
So dark, this is just amazing I am so glad you took the time to write such a beautiful poem and share amongst us all writers, just amazing! Thank you and rock on!
Thanks!
I agree with Wanderlustgirl this is a motivational poem. It talks about how those few really feel and the lies they tell to hide it. I can relate to this poem, it's great and really speaks. By the way, casted is a real word whether the computers think so or not.
They exclaim.
Until we the few
put our hands over our eyes,
force a smile,
and say,
I made it up.
"It's just a poem!"
"It's just a story!"
BEST LINES EVER!!!
I think these lines really sum up the message of your poem! I must admit, when I first started reading your poem I was actually thinking that you was referring to people who were generally rejected due to their views on certain things. But those lines made me realize that you were actually describing the hardships that authors and poets face at the eyes of the world.
I might suggest that you consider removing a few filler words. I did get a bit confused in the beginning and slightly distracted by the presence of short stanza's and words. But if you created your poem to be this particular way then keep it as it is! The overall message made me really want to read your poem a second time (and so I did, haha!)
Keep up the good work!!
Hi this is fallen here come to review for you. So without addressing any grammatical error which are few and just looking at the meaning of the poem you written lets begin. I actually liked you using made up words like casted to aid in your meaning don't stop doing that because its great. As for what you wrote about i found it eerie and amazing my favorite lines were
'exclaiming with tears in our eyes,
"I just like to write!"
For our eternal punishment.
We the few...'
I liked this because i feel full heartily about this words. That some force smiles to those who condemn other writers. or at least that's what i got out of this poem. I also liked it because of your imagery. It is amazing.
I also liked your details about the speakers feelings and actions when this happens to them.
My only after thought is was this suppose to be a song? this could easily be one.
As for negatives i see nothing wrong beside keep the tense the same but that isn't a priority.
Overall, excellent job and don't let these writers get to you.

Hey,
I'm new to "writing" so I found your poem relatable. and I don't even know what defines a review but I'm just going to assume this is one.. I guess. I'd like to see more of your writings.
I just wanted to point out that this is motivational and I enjoyed reading it.
