Who are you to sit high and mighty upon your throne?
As your subjects exclaim, "Lead me! Lead me!"
Their minds nearly as hungry for knowledge, as yours is stuffed with power.
WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT?
WHO MADE YOU ONE TO JUDGE?
Taking farmers land...
and mother's babe.
Smiling as feasts rot in your garbage... and civilians on the street.
Claiming none other is strong enough to take your place,
yet keeping guards at the gate.
No horse
No sword
No bride
Can best that of your own?
HA!
Give back that of which you have stolen, then boast of your petty things.
Set yourself strait, before you whip the backs of your servants.
The throne is nothing more than a seat for the judge of those below himself...

Hi. Your poem is really very nice. The theme which you chose to write on was really well chosen and I loved reading this as I think that this poem is unique.
I liked the flow of the poem; it was smooth. It was nice to read the description of the setting and the ruler since gives you the feel of the poem.
The poem was well done and I hope to read more of your work.

Hi there!
And it almost had a medieval-rennaisance-y feel, the way you talked about "subjects" and "guards at the gate" and "the throne."
I like your poem. And I like the way, as Dusk mentioned too, you spoke directly to the reader. It made me think.
One line I was a bit confused about was: "Can best that of your own?"
I'm not sure that I got exactly what you meant here. And also, when you capitalized the fourth and fifth lines, it sounded a bit angry -- like you got really mad at the reader all of a sudden. But that's just me. I've never really been one for all-caps in poems, so if you like it, and others like it, keep it.
Other than that, sounds great, keep writing!!!
Best that of your own- an old way of saying "there's none better". But thanks!
Oh haha I probably should know that
Hi there!
I really liked your poem. It has a very unique format that I think suits your style well.
However, there were a few things that I noticed. There should be a comma after "exclaim" in the second line. Also, in the first two lines that are all capitalized, I don't think you need both the exclamation point and the question mark. The capitalization is emphasis enough, so I would leave out the exclamation point. Other than that I didn't see anything.
Overall, I enjoyed this poem a lot. I like how you are talking directly to the person, and not just telling us about him/her. I also like the message of this poem, how you are saying that this person shouldn't be judging because it isn't their place to. This poem was very good, and I look forward to reading more things from you!
~Dusk
Thanks! i have a tendency to leave out the commas... ha ha. And i see what you mean with the exclamation point. I'll be more careful with that next time. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
