In Poetry

The world crumble around us,
our darkest thoughts suffocating,
we are too small to overcome.

Star light, star bright, first star I see tonght,
I wish I may, I wish I might, get the wish I wish tonight.
A childhood rhyme we wish wasn't lie.

Words with no meaning, lyrics with no words.
At some point things lose their sense.
Who cares?

How do you know what's a dream?
We are so blind, reality is the enemy of many.
Fantasies that haunt us,
insanity that damns us.

Why do we endure such torment?
So easy it would be to simply let go.
To give up.
One small decision.

One huge impact..
We are not capable of many significant things,
but we love, and we hate.

We love because we could not survive alone.
We hate because we can get hurt, because we protect.
We love for comfort, for achieving something great.

Love is something of a fairytale.
Almost impossible to truly feel,
unbelievable.

Love is also powerful.
Although most of us feel true hate before we feel true love,
maybe love will overcome.

Love and hate,
Endurance, determination.
This is how we live.
This is how it ends.

The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices; to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill, and suspicions can destroy. A thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own.
