Another day.

Another hour.

Another session at Havenshaw.

I know, exciting right?!

Well, that’s the perks of being a musician for you. Having the same tedious tasks to complete, week in week out. Being with the same people, day in day out…. Pfft…. Seriously it’s boring sometimes. There you go, I said it. In my ideal world, I’d only work for three days and then spend the rest of the week at home with Leila. Making memories, enjoying our life. Just savour what it's like to be in love…. you get me? But no. Here I am. Working pretty much all day every day, making ends meet.

“Turns out Radio X wants us on today.” Kian announced, as we sat in the meeting room, coming off the phone from executive producer, Katie.

“What? I swear that we were booked in for next week. How come that’s been changed?” I echoed, perplexed at this change.

“Hayley Mae is releasing her debut album next week, so she gets priority slot-”“Priority slot? Excuse me but has she had three number one albums and four number one singles? Hmm… I think not. Get back on the phone to her and tell her that we booked that slot first.” I demanded. No offence to Hayley, but she’s only just starting out. Her music’s alright, but she’s nothing special. No way near as good as I am… sorry… no way near as good as we are. She’s a pop artist?! Big deal(!) There’s hundreds and thousands of artists out there, what makes her so special to knock us off this interview? It infuriates me when this happens, ok. I put so much time and commitment into what I do. The tours. The recording sessions. The albums. The interaction. And what do I get out of it? Hmm. Nothing. Well, not anymore at least.

“Oi, there’s nowt wrong with Halee, she's a good girl. Talented az well,” Liam snapped in her defense. Just because she had a crush on her at school. Cringey innit? I’m sorry but as much as I love Liam, he can get a bit in your face at times. Likes to think he’s the big I am. I understand we’ve been successful and everything but you sort of need to know your limits with your ego. If you keep getting in everyone’s face all of the time. Then chances are people are gonna start to dislike you. And when people start to dislike you, well… don’t even get me started on the consequences of that. Losing fans, views, profits, tickets, tours, concerts. The list goes on and on. But I ain’t getting into all that. After all people, who are actually famous would only understand things like that. I mean, that’s hardly applicable for yourself (no offence).

“Look, we all know you still have a massive crush on her Liam, but it’s time to move on. There’s plenty of other fish in the sea, mate.” Matt insisted, flicking through our recently updated stadium brochure.

“Iz there though? I been with so many birds over da years. Kiarra. Jess-”

“Alright, alright we don’t need to listen to the history of your tragic love life.” I said, trying to bring the conversation to a well needed halt.

“Ay, don’t start putting dose turning tables on me Harvee, Matt started it.” Liam said, desperately defending himself.

“Alright guys, moving on. Anyway, I just had an email through. They want us there at 2:15 for a thirty minute slot. Now, I know we said we would work on finalising the bookings for the final five stages for the tour, but clearly this needs to take priority. The last interview we did was way back in January, so it's time to refresh our marketing image to the fans. We need to put across clear, composed and crisp and make the fans want to buy the single. We need them, we need them to be hyped up for the tour. We need them to be invested in our new music... Invested in us.”
