Missy
29th March 2019
Two weeks. Two glorious weeks have passed. Two happy memories filled weeks. The best weeks of my life, yeah you know I’m being sarcastic, don’t you? There’s no point trying to be normal is there. So, what’s changed, I hear you ask? Firstly, it turns out that Kian has a correspondent at Millar Stacey. Holly, I think her name is. I mean is that even legal? Are you allowed to correspond with other people at law firms? I say that, but this is Kian Thomas we’re talking about after all. The multi Grammy winning manager, so I guess he has a reason too, don’t he? After all, like Harvey says, he can do what he wants, when he wants.
Since we last caught up, things haven’t exactly been fantastic let’s just say. Well not for me at least. Harvey went on to his interview, on his own, taking full credit for the song. Leila surpassed 1.29 million followers on Instagram, “Skylight” reached 3.4 million downloads, Kian’s net worth has reached £240 million, Liam’s son Frances has turned 5 and Matt has moved into a £3.4 million house. I know, sad innit? According to Harvey, this is what I’m meant to be grateful for. “This was the life that he created for me and it’s about time I started to appreciate it.”
Well, sorry to burst your bubble but no I don’t.
I came home from school, to find that the band had been nominated for the Becknell Awards. Four in fact. One for best single, one for best album, one for best headliner and the final one for best group. Talk about arrogance or what? We’ve already won four in 2015, why do we need another four? All it will do is just end up contributing to Harvey’s already overinflated ego, making his delusional little head think that he’ll win the case.
“Why are you even surprised, Leila? I mean it was on the cards anyway. As soon as we surpassed 3.2 million, then we know that Becknell had to consider us.” Harvey gloated, holding the nomination notice , as he made him and Leila a cup of tea.
“Oh, if it isn’t for Miss Cynical. Did you hear what me and Harvey were saying just then?” Leila spat, whilst filing her nails like a spoilt teenager. Once a trollop, forever a trollop. Sorry, I just really don’t like her. Anyway, carrying on.
“No, I didn’t and surprisingly enough, I don’t care.” I retaliated back, emptying out my lunch on the worktop.
“Guys, guys, don’t be like that please. We should be happy, ok. This is a perfect distraction, from Diana. At least we have tools we can use against them both now. Once the judge sees how dedicated I am to providing a good life for you, then that’s immediately going to give me an advantage, don’t you think?” He emphasised, carrying the cups of tea to the dining table. Can you get any more naive than this?
“Tools? Because that’s really going to convince the judge to let me stay here, isn’t it? Oooh, take a look at my achievements, Judge Crossley. My band has won possibly eight awards across their nineteen year career. It proves that I am a skilled, working, dedicated father, and that everything Diana has accused me of it is untrue.” I snapped, hoping that they would hear how delusional they sound. Putting the emphasis on hoping there, because I never was able to find out the answer.
“Leila, could you see whether Kian, Liam and Matt have arrived yet? They said they were going to be here for 3:30 and it’s 3:32 now.” Harvey asked, completely ignoring what I said.
Obediently, she rose up from the dining chair, and headed out of the kitchen to the front door, screwing up her long horsey, sorry nose and her monolid eyes in jealousy, as she walked passed me. I know I’m beautiful (trust me I’m really not), but I would much rather hear it in words rather than having to make the effort to exchange a glance, with panstick face over here. Sorry, I just really hate her.
Deep breath, Missy.
Just stay calm.
You’ll be fine.
You’re just overthinking everything as per usual.

at first, let's figure out some mistakes-
this line is not clear. please make it clear.
Grammy winning will be Grammy-winning. don't he will be doesn't he.
there will be a 'the' before best. also there will be a comma before and.
remove the space before notice.
me will be I
there will be a comma before please.
emphasised will be emphasized
hyphen between nineteen and year.
remove the comma after father.
past not passed.
pan stick not panstick.
apart from these, I have no other complaints. your chapters are improving. they are becoming more detailed. i really appreciate that.
I loved the detail you put into this, it's so descriptive and personal and you make personal opinions with each of the characters which was really effective.
I love the comments you have made and the sarcasm included, I can really see how Missy feels and the state that they are in: 'well I'm sorry to burst your bubble but no I don't'
Perhaps with the line 'the best weeks of my life, yeah you know I'm being sarcastic don't you' you could make those two parts two different sentences: 'The best weeks in my life. You know I'm being sarcastic don't you?' Or maybe just add a little bit before like 'Who am I kidding?' Just to break it up a bit and make it flow more easily.
I also liked the storyline. I haven't read your other pieces to this story, but I've managed to identify the characters relationships with each other; it's always good when you can recognise and already be familiarised with the characters themselves despite having no previous knowledge. Enjoyed this read
