The flashes of the camera,
The screams and blinding lights,
Waving their photos for an autograph,
I won’t leave here soon tonight,
We have all we want,
The music and likes,
The money and our place,
But it could never erase this feeling,
The difference in our life,
To the world we’re happy,
The famous duo who have each other for family,
Smiling and cheering,
But they could never understand,
The flaws and cracks,
That divide us as we stand,
Our world is full of change,
Being famous is just an act,
Freedom could never be the same,
Thriving on our connections,
Looking in the mirror,
Despite our reflections,
Reality never equates to what you see,
Read our stories if you want to understand,
The life that is never shown on the screen,
And maybe you’ll understand,
That being famous is just a craft.

This poem sent chills down my spine, I loved the line 'the flaws and cracks'. I can imagine a beautiful statue, tall and proud breaking down. Your rhyming structure was also very effective. I also loved the line 'reality never equates to what you see'. This will really hook anyone to read your novel. It's so deep and science- fiction like, when this is the world that we live in

today.
I enjoyed reading this poem
Thank you for your review
Hey sunlightwarriorxo!
My name is Elinor, and I thought I would drop by to give your poem a quick review. Welcome to YWS, by the way, I hope you're enjoying your time here so far! Congratulations on already writing 39 reviews-- that's crazy impressive!
I enjoyed the concept of your poem. Something I've always been interested in as a writer is exploring the other side of fame, and how our culture tends to raise people up to levels of fame and then not afford them the same rights to privacy, to make mistakes and to be human as others.
Because of this, I thought it was powerful that you chose to write the poem from the perspective of the star. I notice that this a part of a novel you've written? It seems like there's a lot more here than just the poem.
I'm almost wondering if you could even dig a little deeper. While I resonate with what you're writing about, as the poem is right now, it reads a little bit like the narrator hates the fact that she's famous and gets to live her dream. Obviously, there's more to it than that, but usually, with famous people, they love their craft, they just don't like the attention. That could be an interesting dichotomy to play with.
I will try to check out your novel too! Let me know if you have any questions and happy writing.
Cheers,
Elinor
