The Dream

PreviousNext

I dream a lot.

There I go aloft,

to the clear skies,

to meet the wise.

I laughed out loud .

From on top of a cloud.

I saw the world,

Which swirled and twirled.

I went to space,

Beyond this race.

I dreamt it all,

As I slept with my doll.

Hello, happy review day!

I love this poem. It keeps to the rhyming scheme, it is interesting and it is relatable!

I dream a lot. I love how simplistic this line is. By doing a simplistic start, the reader is compelled to think about it. You cause them to ask questions like: Doesn't everyone dream a lot but they just don't remember? or hmm I wonder what they mean by dreaming?(for someone could interpret this as the idea that you never have nightmares).

There I go aloft, This line really rolls off the readers tongue as it is such a lovely phrase. Many people dream of flying but this is a really nice way to describe how you fly. I like how you use aloft instead of the actual word flying as it strikes the reader a little more. I like how you are not straight to the point as if you were, I feel like it would completely ruin the feelings created. The reader would not feel like they are 'flying' with the poem.

The idea that all of this is a dream makes the poem a dreamy experience as the reader can relax at the fact that nothing is going to spike in and ruin it. It also means that the possibilities are limitless. (Yes that is a hint to tell you I'm expecting you to write another dream poem. Maybe about nightmares?)

Punctuation's ok, no major promblemmos.

That's all from me,
Godly :D

i'm glad you liked it

'There I go aloft, to the clear skies,' is refreshing to read and quickly grasped my attention in the first few verses. The rhyming is cleverly used, but you could always add some more adjectives to give a clearer image in my mind. I like how you kept it short but rhythmic as the lines stick in my head. Your imaginative verses have put a smile on my face and I would love to read more of your work!

thank you.I assure you, I will try to use more adjectives

As simplistic as this is, I like it, and the last two line serve as a good clincher. Don't be so self-critical; it's actually great. Is it the work of Longfellow or Melville? No, but it's really good. Also, this poem has well-developed rhythm and end rhyme. Reading it aloud to myself, I found that it has that musical quality which is characteristic of any good poetry. Well done! This left me feeling satisfied. I would say that reading a good poem, however short, is like finishing a meal. Ah, fulfillment! That is what I felt when I finished this. Also, you followed a more traditional approach to poetry which I have always been a proponent of. Good job, and I hope to see some more from you. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you.You really boosted my confidence

I'm glad to hear that.
