As you drive past a car,
Or walk down the street,
Are you really aware of how many strangers you meet?
You glance at them once,
Then glance away,
I wonder how many faces you've seen today.
What is their purpose?
What are they like?
Have you seen them before on a cold winter's night?
You see billions of them everyday,
And they see you too.
You've seen so many you don't know what to do.
In your own subtle world, you don't have time for them.
In your mind's deep lair, you couldn't possibly care,
For another stranger who breathes the same air.
You're aware that you'll see them.
The ones you see but don't greet.
In your already hard, busy and crazy week.
So think about the strangers you'll know and not meet.
For everyday also, you're the stranger they'll meet.

Hi there! This was really good! And I especially like the fact that rhyming isn't as popular in poetry right now and it can sometimes be cheesy but you really made it work. I was very impressed with this piece. It makes a person truly think about the fact that there are so many people in the world and you are just another face among the crowd. Very beautifully written. Keep writing!
Thanks! I think about the topic, strangers, a lot. So I thought, why not make a poem about it

I thought your topic was really interesting and rare. The fact that we meet strangers everyday but you don't really think about it that much. But then the fact that you're a stranger to them too.
I didn't see any gramatical issues. Uou successfully put a punctuation mark after every line.
Overall good job, keep up the good work!
Thanks again!!!
i once wondered about that also. Your topic was great. Among the world's many strangers, it is also amazing that we meet some of them. It might be frightful at times but they do help us also. We are also strangers in their eyes but we help each other go on in this life, right?
Keep writing.
Totally right, and thanks!!
This was really interesting! I'd never really thought about how many people we see each day. They could either be the most important person to us one day, or someone we never see again. You are a really talented poet! I thought your meter was very strong and you stuck to it. Your rhymes did not seem forced or stretched. Great job; keep it up!
I'm so flattered to hear that so thank you! Poetry has always just been a natural thing of mine, I guess I'm lucky! Thanks again
Hello there musicandme!
I saw you posted this poem & wanted to check it out. & I must say, I really enjoyed this! This concept of strangers is something I believe everyone can relate too. I myself have thought about this before many times. Like when I'm in a restaurant eating & I'm surrounded by different families, it makes me wonder what kind of people they are and what they go through in life.
Anyways, I think you did awesome on the rhyming. The words didn't sound forced to rhyme and everything just flowed together nicely.
Overall awesome job!
Thank you!! I'm glad you can relate to it! We should cowrite a poem together sometime!
Hey that would be an awesome. But be warned I'm still like super new to poetry so you will def have to show me the ropes lol. Just lmk whenever you want to try
Ahh, this poem gives me some conflicting feelings between "scared" and "enlightened", which I really enjoy! On one hand, it feels almost scary, as you're talking about all of these people who you've only seen once, and how you see thousands of strangers every day. It's almost scary to think about how many people you pass by and never think about. However, the end of the feeling is also relieving, though, to know that there are other people who are seeing you and noticing you, knowing that you're a real person walking through the street. It makes me wonder what they might think of me, what their impressions are upon seeing me.
I noticed one little error in the poem, in this line: "In you mind's deep lair, you couldn't possibly care,". I think the "you" here was supposed to be a "your"? Other than that, I didn't notice any spelling errors or anything.
I give this a 10/10, a great poem. Keep on writing!
Thank you so much!! I'm so happy I got a review so soon! Yeah, the you was supposed to be your. I'll see if I can fix it. Thanks again!
