It's Up To You

E - Everyone

In Lyrics

Look at how beautiful today is
You're wasting it, you're putting yourself to sleep
Look at how your life have been a complication
Of broken dreams and strings

CHORUS:
It's never late, no it's never late
To put away that blade
Am I too late?
I am not the one who will stop your own mistakes
It's up to you

Look at you in the mirror
Too bad that thing cannot see what's inside you
Look at why you think you are not beautiful
I think that's never true
When one thing falls apart you think the fault is you
And now you're going through this

CHORUS:
But it's never late, no it's never late
To put away that blade
Am I too late?
I am not the one who will stop your own mistakes
It's up to you
It's up to you

Look at me I'm standing on my feet
I know I'm weak but I have found the strength to pray
That's one thing that you need
I have nothing and something I can give to you
Cause in the end it's up to you

CHORUS(2x):
You know it's never late, no it's never late
To put away that blade
Am I too late?
I am not the one who will stop your own mistakes
It's up to you

Hiya dark_angel! Here to review your lovely song lyrics~

Okay, so the message of this poem was so good and just so true. I thought this was a really motivational song, and has a really good message that isn't always talked about enough. You've taken a sensitive issue and handled it really well, which is something that's quite hard to do so well done.

Look at how your life have has been a complication

Quick nitpick!

I've mentioned this before when reviewing your lyrics, but I've noticed you use the same structure each time! It gets a bit boring, and if you added a melody/music to it, you might see that it can get a bit tedious. Also the fact that there's only two sections might get a bit boring too. I think with these sorts of things it's important not to be shy to play around a round a bit, have three different sections and mess about the order a bit. You'd be surprised at the results.

The other thing I wanna talk about it your actual language used. I don't wanna sound too harsh as it's a sensitive topic, however this language is rather bland and just not that interesting. It might be to do with the fact there's some rhyming which seems a bit forced. Just remember that lyrics are very similar to poetry, and poetry often included lots of lovely imagery- something you might wanna include here. If anything, it'll leave the readers/listeners feeling more sympathetic towards the matter because they've imagined it now.

These were some really good lyrics, and I always enjoy reading your work! In the future don't feel scared to move away from the usual structure you use, and maybe add some more interesting language. I hope this review helped, please feel free to PM me with any questions you have or if you'd like anything else to be reviewed.

Just keep writing!

I love it! I can almost hear it in my head, which I can't do with some songs. I also fell as if it's almost addressing me, as well as a lot of my friends. I wish I really could hear the melody. The lyrics are definitely worth someone listening, (or I guess reading), too. But well done.

This is really good. However, I believe that you should label your verses as well as the chorus. And I agree with Blackwood, it does seem to be rather short. But I can see more than one verse in this, and I believe they are just not clear enough and they should be labeled. And to add to the length of this work, perhaps you could consider adding a bridge or perhaps a repeat chorus (i.e. sing the chorus twice, portrayed by CHORUS X2, but you probably already knew that).

And you were quite accurate in your description. This song should be written.

As with all of my reviews, this is based on my personal opinion while I attempt to be as objective as possible. If you choose not to take my suggestions (for indeed that is all they are) into consideration, then that is you prerogative, and I take no offense. I hope this helps you in some way.

Happy Writing!

Thanks for the review! You're right, I was actually considering adding another chorus at the end. :D

What you have here are really great lyrics. very inspiring and uplifting.

However i consider this incomplete. All you have a chorus and verse (?) at the beginning. You need more verses. A tip for writing more verses is to continue the story of the song while the chorus conveys the message. Your message is spot on.
Your first verse (I think it is but you didn't label it) works well like a verse should, it is written in a sense that establishes the situation. More like these will work well, put in some more verses. I advise you put in at least Two more verses. Look up some strong structure as well. Also consider the length in proportion to the chorus. The first thing I keep calling a verse seems more like intro length so you may want to extend any more if you write them.

Hi Darkangle I really like your song :D

Never to back down, only you can save yourself, and it's never too late. I love the message of the song. Really inspiring :)

If there was one thing I could add to the song, that would be some encouragement. "Be strong", "don't give up","you are almost there", "I'm here for you" or something like that :D

Thank you for such a wonderful song :)
