E - Everyone

Cross My Heart

It all began when you felt your heart tightened in your chest
The world around you suddenly became a red hot mess
And you are slowly breaking down yeah
And you always got that frown yeah
'Cause you're often wasting what's left of your happiness

The moment you said life is hard you know that you will lose
The world around you suddenly became a living noose
And you are slowly crashing down yeah
And you always got that frown yeah
'Cause you've let your tears put out that fire in you

CHORUS:
The best is yet to come and I cross my heart
But then your hope is gone feeling like this war would never end (would never end)
If you want we could ride those shooting stars
And run away but then would that light you up even just a little? (even just a little)

You always got those coldest shoulders everyday
The world around you suddenly became the darkest gray
And you are slowly tumbling down yeah
And you always got that frown yeah
But when you feel like giving up here's what I should say

CHORUS:
The best is yet to come and I cross my heart
But then your hope is gone feeling like this war would never end (would never end)
If you want we could ride those shooting stars
And run away but then would that light you up even just a little? (even just a little)

When the world is breaking down on you
When the world is crashing down on you
When the world is tumbling down on you

When the world is breaking down on you
When the world is crashing down on you
When the world is tumbling down on you

CHORUS:
The best is yet to come and I cross my heart
But then your hope is gone feeling like this war would never end (would never end)
If you want we could ride those shooting stars
And run away but then would that light you up even just a little? (even just a little)

I think that the lyrics is not very original.

One thing I like is the rhytm. It is really smooth and easy to sing.

Hey there!

It's musicgirl here! Alright so I'm obviously going to give you a review so here it goes. These are very nice lyrics, but I think it should be more like a poem. I don't think it really is perfect for a song. Don't take this personally though. The chorus is nice though. The verses just sound more of like a poem than a song kind of thing. It is hard to explain, but you don't have to take this advice personally or you don't have to follow my advice at all. I really don't mind. Well, that's pretty much it. Nice chorus, but maybe change the verses. That's it.

Peace out,

Hi! I love these song lyrics, they are very fun! The lyrics are indeed very uplifting. If this were a song I think it would be a very catchy one! Again I love the lyrics and I cant think of anything wrong with them, they are absolutley wonderful! I think my favorite part of these lyrics are the chorus and the line that says " If you want we could ride those shooting stars". They are absolutley beautiful!

Hey! :) Thank you for commenting and I appreciate it. I'm glad you like it.

This song is brilliant!
I like how the lyrics are somewhat subtle and indirect, and how they're really playful. Though that's just one half of the fight, of course.

If you're going to make this into an actual song, you can use the melody and tune of the words to further convey what it is you're actually trying to say.
Just wondering, how would you want this to sound?

Anyways, I liked it! It's uplifting on my part, and if it were me, reading this will make me happy because at the very least, it's reassuring.
I'm a musician, and it's nice seeing pieces like these from other people! So, thank you! Looking forward to seeing you carry on with your song!

Hello! Wow, you're a musician! :) Thank you for commenting on my work, I appreciate some thoughts from other songwriters out there. This song already has a tune, but it doesn't have any chords yet because I can't play the guitar and I am too shy to ask for help... by the way, no one ever heard this song yet. Ha ha. Again, thank you!

These are great lyrics. Literately there is no constructive critique I can give you because I do not see a need to change them at all, the story makes sense and you have managed to avoid most common lyrical cliches. However I can comment musically.

This is very nice, even without the tunes the lyrics seem to work well. They rhyme, but in such a way that is not comical which is good to your theme. From the lyrics i imagine the music to be proud and uplifting, but being a song, it is hard to judge without the melody and chord progressions. (Writing chords above your lyrics, this example is found in many online lyrics and can be helpful because it gives an indication of a major, minor, suspended chords and also where the cadences are.) Another aspect that i can not judge due to the lack of aural material is if the lyrics correspond correctly to the melody, meaning that the strong words are on the strong notes, but creating a song like this, that aspect is usually correct.

One thing you need to take note on is the form (order in which your sections appear) At the moment i see you have Verse:Verse:Chorus:Verse:Chorus:Bridge:Chorus. This seems that the structure may be a little top heavy on verses as you put two at the immediate beginning and none at the end. I'm not saying this is bad, but you may like to experiment moving them around and see what sounds the best if you have not already done so.

I really think these lyrics have great potential and will go far, as I can see through syllables and structure a formed song coming along. I wish you luck in completing your song.

I think the lyrical form order is good and most popular songs start off with two verses, then chorus, then one single verse, then chorus etc. however, like blackwood says, it's fine to mix them around. Just saying that i personally think the form in that way is good :)

Hey guys! Thank you for your comments! :)

Yeah, I've been experimenting on some different forms of songs, such as the simple verse and this one. I'll try to mix it up next time. This song doesn't have any chords yet, but it has a tune already. It has a beat of soft rock/upbeat style to it. I'm glad you guys like it.
