*This fanfic is underneath my folder titled “Marble Hornets fanfics”. This is a fanfic of one of the characters from the analog horror YouTube show “Marble Hornets”. The show ran from 2009-2014 and was created by Troy Wagner. This is my interpretation of one of the character’s childhoods (all of the characters are young adults in the show). Gacha Club character designs are under my forum titled “My character designs<33[2]”. Enjoy!*
Tim’s eyes were wide open. He didn’t dare close them. What if the faceless man came and took him away? He had to be prepared or else one day, he might be gone forever.
He didn’t want to sleep, anyway. Sure, his eyes hurt, but his room felt like it was closing in on him, like it wanted to squeeze him until he couldn’t breathe. Tim kept asking Mommy to get him a nightlight, but she said no. She said that he had to get used to the darkness or he would never be able to face his fears.
But if it was dark, then there were more places for the faceless man to hide! More places for the faceless man to lurk! It was dangerous, to not know where the faceless man was! The last time-
“Tim, get up. We’re going somewhere.” Mommy’s voice said.
Tim sat up in his bed. Mommy stood at the door, he could see her from her silhouette. It was just Mommy, so the faceless man wouldn’t come.
“Where are we going?” Tim asked, hoping that it’d be somewhere fun, like the amusement parks the kids at his school went to.
“We’re going to a place that can help you. It’s a very special place. Go and pack your things. We’re gonna go soon.” Mommy said.
Once she walked away, Tim reached over to where he knew the lamp would be on the nightstand and pulled on the switch. The lamp’s light made the green painted walls more vibrant, more calming. He sat on his bed for a while, thinking over what Mommy said.
They were going somewhere? Why? What was the reason? Were they both going to enjoy it? Would the faceless man follow him or would it go away?
Tim got right to packing. Mommy would probably tell him later.
………………………………………………………………..
It was still night out, but cars were whizzing by anyway, focused on their own journeys. The streetlights were fuzzy and hazy, like the lights at the doctor’s office if Tim stared at them for too long.
He kept asking Mommy where they were going, but Mommy wouldn’t tell him. She kept saying that the place would “help him”, but she wouldn’t say how. Tim kept asking and asking, but she wouldn’t say, so he gave up and stared out the window.
The lights were pretty, at least.
After a while, Mommy stopped the car in front of a brown, nondescript building. She told Tim to unbuckle his seatbelt and take his things, to which he did.
But then Mommy drove away! She just drove away! Why did she leave without him? She didn’t even say much either!
No matter. Tim would just go towards the building. Mommy probably had a good reason for just leaving like that.
She’d come back later.

Fanfics that connect to this!:
He was dropped off to a mental hospital. The hospital did many tests on him to try and figure out his diagnosis. Sometimes he was aggressive and other times he was deeply, deeply frightened. He would run away to “Rosswood Park” to escape the faceless man, who would be known on the show as “The Operator”. They could not diagnose him but later settled on “schizophrenia”. As a grown man, Tim does not want anything to do with The Operator when Jay Merrick, the protagonist, tries to get Tim to join him on his investigation and whatnot, but later, he has to get involved because he can’t just avoid it. He insists that he is “fine” but he is not. He seems to care about Jay and his other friends. The show itself is tragic, but Tim, I feel, is a very, very tragic character, because he tries to “get better” and yet, he does not.
Tim’s “terrific” Christmas!!!
“Now that you’re gone”
“Entry despair”
“It’s not going to end”
Marble Hornets amusement park ad!
Here is where Tim went and more about him if you want to know:
Spoiler
I rly understand the mom here, not wanting to have her son rely on a nightlight. Even if the circumstances are really extreme.
Nevermind, she’s evil! Where did she abandon her poor child? WHAT?!
Didn’t even wait if someone would come out of this weird building! Poor child.
Ah and it’s time for the daily reminder of dialogue formatting:
Mommy said is not a complete sentence, therefore you need the comma 😊
Hello Again, My Friend!
Hello again!! Now we're into Marble Hornets, yay!
To start, very cool to see more backstory given to Tim! Although, man is it sad! Poor little guy—as if it's not enough to be tormented by the Operator, he just gets abandoned by his own mother too? Brutal ToT
I have no recommendations for change, so let's dive right into highlights!
Okay, right off the bat, this is just so...UGH. Like, just give this poor little kid a nightlight, this feels toxic!
Immediately, just red flags, the way she says this. You know something's about to go down, and it makes Tim's blind trust and faith just so much worse to see in the moment.
Ooo, I like how you compared the street lights to hospital lights, like that was a clever bit of foreshadowing! Very cool ~
HEARTLESS. And still, he thinks she'll come back, even after seeing that. Oooooh man, poor Tim!! ToT
Overall, that was a very sad yet very well done bit of backstory for Tim, that really fit his character and the fandom! Nicely done!
"They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."
"Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.”
"I would define, in brief, the poetry of words as the rhythmical creation of Beauty."
Thank you! You probably guessed it, but she dropped him off at a mental hospital with no explanation. Tim%u2019s gonna grow up there. Truly sad. :<
Yw!! ^^ And yeah, so sad ToT
