Aarin the clown
Ascelin the snake whisperer
Circe and Eris, the conjoined twins
Found a home within Shapcott’s circus
Leopold was their friend
Though as dark his thoughts were
They never thought of him as a monster
They stayed close even as times got hard
But ol’ Leopold Shapcott began to change
He became something quite deranged
Before they could escape his clawed grasp
He snuffed their lives out in a flash
They all surfaced to Heaven
And shuddered at the thought that Leopold Shapcott, once gentle man
Would be destined for Hell
But what broke their hearts
Was that Leopold left little Prudence alive
Oh Prudence, poor orphan!
With a Mom and Dad who left her behind, who wanted to live their own lives
Poor Prudence, with Leopold
She had a fate worse than death
They could only pray for little Prudence
And hope for the best

Hello, My Friend!
Hi Vamp!! I saw this update and thought I'd give it a review!
Omg, I can't believe I forgot about this original cast in the circus! It's super cool that you decided to include a little poem dedicated to them! I love how you describe them finding a home and some level of family/community under Leopold, and how it took such a long time and such a drastic change for them to finally leave—and by then, it was too late. And poor Prudence, who got stuck with him...
As far as technical reviews go, I have nothing to complain about! I thought this was lovely!!
As far as favorite lines and parts go, ooo...I would have to say:
This whole bit was awesome!! I think the fact that the crew "shuddered" at the thought of Leopold going to hell really spoke to how much they believed in him—or wanted to believe in him. Even after he killed them all! Wow...
Aw, the crew's sorrow over Prudence's fate was a nice addition, and such a bittersweet way to end this poem. I mean, they weren't wrong...but at least Prudence got a happy ending in some way, in the end, right?
Anyway, that was awesome! Nicely done!
"They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."
"Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.”
"I would define, in brief, the poetry of words as the rhythmical creation of Beauty."
I%u2019m glad you enjoyed this!!
I have another one!:

Oh, cool! Thanks for the update!
You%u2019re welcome!
Hope here!
Fun little poem. I've read some of your other circus stuff Vamp but not recently so its kind of fun to pop back in every once and a while. The basic content of the poem is good. But it kind of implies that there were only four people in this entire circus, which, I'm not sure if that was the intention, because I haven't kept up with your universe. The picture you tried to add didn't work, and it just says 'attachment PNG' not sure what went wrong there, but you might want to edit the post. It also seems like Prudence is not necessarily an orphan, just that she was abandoned. Unless she was abandoned, then her parents died. I'm not sure.
The parents sent her off to the orphanage. So yes, she was abandoned.
This is only the old cast, in my other stories under my folder %u201CElsdale Circus%u201D you can read about the old and new cast.
I wasn%u2019t trying to add an image, that was a mistake.
But glad you enjoyed!
