Prudence’s parents did not expect a girl to come
Mother wanted freedom
Dad wanted fun
They sent her off to an orphanage
And hoped for the best
For the dazzling life was for them
And to parent was too much of a test
They never dreamed of what would befall her
Of the horrors she would endure
Up in Heaven, they watched in terror
As she braved through it all
Though Prudence found a family
And eventually made it through the pearly gates
They both wished that she hadn’t died so young
“Oh Prudence” They’d say
“We wish you didn’t have to come”
She’d only smile and say
That she simply found her way
That even though life was hard
She still found it in her blooming heart
To give a warm grin
That was enough
To make them both content

@Ravena, you might want to check this out!!
And last one, so I reach Top 65 for today :3

I like the rhyme scheme in this one too and also the first lines that really tell the story abt the accidental pregnancy here.
Also… well, kinda understandable to send the child away if they cannot afford to take care of it ☹
(Also also true if you just don’t want children.)
Sad that this means the child had to suffer tho ☹
Wait, they died? How when? Bc of they dazzling life?
Old age killed them. They didn%u2019t reunite with her until death.
Thx for reading!

Hello creeperfeverdreams!!!!!!
Hop here with a review for Team Roses Of Red!!! I'm determined to at least try and win! Good attitude = good chances, right??
Anyways, I won't try and make you jealous of the fact that us roses will dominate this review day so let's just jump into this review lol!! I am actually super excited too because this is a poem so EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
OKay, let's do this!!!
Okay, for some reason I got Matilda vibes a little bit? Like the parents just wanted to have fun but ended up with a child they didn't want? I do feel like in this poem the parents are put in with a negative connotation, but I honestly do feel like I understand why they did it.
They might have been young and wanted to enjoy their life without having a baby to constantly worry about. They also might've not felt like they could have handled her so they sent her to the orphanage where she could have hopes of finding a loving family that would take her and love her how she deserved to be loved.
Unfortunately, they had no idea that Prudence was not treated how they expected her to be treated. That just shows the harsh reality of life and not getting everything you wanted. Like a baby, or how the baby was going to be treated.
Anyways, I really did enjoy reading this and I really do admire your work!!!
Have a good day/night!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Hop
