Celia and Delia’s Mom and Dad

Watched from Heaven

As their little girls had begun to feel more frightened and sad

Oh, they’d hold them close one day

And let them cry into their arms

But up in Heaven, they could watch

As they suffered all alone

Why, if they could come down they would

For it felt too high without them around

Wasn’t Heaven supposed to be a happy place?

Why did they feel like they were going to drown?

Oh that is such a sad and revealing line:

For it felt too high without them around

I really like that image!
Again I like that you show the parents' point of view; I will keep pointing that out!
You can really feel the emotions in this one. No comments, just very tragic!
I bet I can find more stories that show what's going on on Earth if I continue the work. So, have a great day and keep up your work :)

Thank you. I do try to do everyone%u2019s POVs, parents included. Most ppl would not think of them. At least, I think lol.

Hello, My Friend!

Hiya, Vamp! I'm here to give this poem a quick review, hope you don't mind!

Ooo, and here we finally get more of an idea of Celia and Delia's parents, and where they stand in this massive tragedy! Poor guys, having to watch everything that transpired, unable to do anything. Much like Wyatt and others who came to know the Elsdale cast, I imagine...

As far as recommendations go, I have nothing! Great writing job ~

For favorite lines, hmmm...I would have to go with:

Oh, they’d hold them close one day

And let them cry into their arms

Not only did this capture that paternal/maternal emotion in this poem, but it touches on that bittersweet idea that comes with the twins' passing. On one hand, it's sad that they died so young and in such a grizzly manner, but on the other hand, at least they can be with their parents for them.

Wasn’t Heaven supposed to be a happy place?

Why did they feel like they were going to drown?

LOVED this line!! Indeed, there are some crucial things (or rather, people) you can't be truly happy without, so what is Heaven if not for those things, not just a place??

Anyway, that's all I have for now. Great poem! :D

Thus concludes my review. To leave off, here are some inspiring quotes, courtesy of your resident Poe freak ~

"They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."
"Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.”
"I would define, in brief, the poetry of words as the rhythmical creation of Beauty."

Thank you for your review! Also, love the new username!

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
