The pen is my sword ,
and the paper my charioteer .
Alphabets form my shield ,
and Imagination my armour .
My mind and heart have four children :
The short story is the youngest ; full of wonder ,
The poem comes next ; with beauty of the heaven ,
The article is the third ; brimming with splendour ,
The quote comes fourth ; with the wisdom of a raven .
My body is the home
Of this happy family .
And in me together they have sown ,
the seeds of literary agility .
I bring joy to people ,
I act as their voice .
I mirror their pain , their every feel ,
I choose from the platter of immense choice .
I may not be like the singer ,
serenading with every note ,
I may not be like the dancer ,
mesmerising others with the work of their foot .
But I am equally talented .
I can create wonders .
While reality has many minds cemented,
I gallop into wild adventures .
I create people on the way ,
I nourish their new born soul .
I can control what they say ,
Be it a superhero or a garden troll .
I am the rainbow in the reader's life .
and the backbone of the publisher's desk .
I light the candle of new beginning,
and open the door of entertainment .
I am the keeper of words .
I am a Writer .
This is who I am .

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
I had difficulty grasping the rhyming scheme at the start but I enjoyed your message and can relate with a lot of what the poem is. I'd extend on it and turn it into a slam if you have the ambition. Good work :]
This. Was. Amazing. It expresses me, and I'm sure it expresses everyone else here as well. It had so much meaning in it, excellent figurative language, and flawless structure. My one (tiny) gripe is the use of the phrase 'short story' in stanza 2. Now, I know I'm nitpicking here, and I'm sorry for that because it get on my nerves as much as I'm sure it does yours, but it kind of throws the flow of the poem off (just a little bit). Might I suggest the words "novella", "narrative", or "novellette"? Otherwise, excellent job! I give this story a like!
Hello, here's Adah with a review ^^
So I was wondering for a while in which section my first review would be. And I have to admit, I've never thought it could be under one of poems. I actually have some of them in one of my notebooks but I link myself more with prose than a poetry.
So I thought but I like this poem so much that it changed my mind. I see it as a hymn for all writers - poets, novelists, essayists etc. Everyone of them can understand it because all of us feel in similar way.
Also, last two lines reminded me of one movie I've seen last year - "This is who I am". It was about a boy whose teacher would always ask him to say this phrase:
"I am a writer - this is who I am".
I'm a big fan of this line so I'm really grateful that you put it there, even if you haven't seen the movie and it was pure accident ^^
Anyway I love your writing, keep moving on!
