 PROLOGUE

“Eclipse is attacking!” A man with dark, red-brown hair and brown eyes was screaming. “Ruby? Ruby!” He ran through the burning Base, his eyes searching for his love. Suddenly, he spotted her. A tiny movement under a burning tree. “I’m coming!” He helped Ruby to shelter, way outside of the Base. She had red hair and blue eyes. He thought she was beautiful. She was carrying a baby in her arms. Something burst out of the trees. It was someone from Eclipse. “Leave her alone!” The man growled as the person lunged for Ruby. Ruby handed the baby to the man. “Helix…keep her safe!” She started fighting. Suddenly, a tree caught fire above them. “RUBY!” Helix screeched as the tree fell. “NO!” His tears fell, soaking the ground below. He hugged the only thing he had left of her. “Scarlett. I will keep you safe. Your mother will be proud of you.”

CHAPTER ONE

“Come, daughter. I have something to show you. My latest works.” Scarlett followed her father down the underground tunnel. The tunnels were under the Base, and none of the other Tribes had a clue about it. Totally secret, hidden away. They never, ever talked about it. Her father, Helix, was the scientist, and his job was to help the Phoenix Tribe get what they wanted using experiments. Helix opened the door to his office, and unlocked a door.

Scarlett covered her mouth in shock when she saw what was in there. A teenage boy was chained to the wall from his neck, ankles, and wrists. His skin was pale, like he hadn’t gotten water or food for days. When he looked up, his eyes were slits of mesmerizing, lightning blue, but they were dull. “What are you doing to him?” She asked, trying not to let the fear in her voice show.

“Oh, a little something Riven told me to do. He wants the water power inside of it. Eclipse might be attacking soon, and a weapon like this would be unstoppable,” he grunted. Scarlett gasped. “He has water powers?”

“Yes, IT does. The only one in the world since the ancient Whirlpool. Listen, I’ll leave it with you. I’m going to get something, be right back.” He left, leaving Scarlett and the boy alone. Scarlett approached him cautiously. His chest was heaving with every breath. He’s cute, Scarlett thought. His black hair matches his eyes. But I have a boyfriend already, and he might have a girlfriend as well. At least…he did. “How long since you’ve last eaten or drank?” She whispered, looking him in his eyes. The boy looked up. “I don’t know,” he slurred. At that moment, Helix returned with a sharp needle. His head dropped. Scarlett stepped back from the boy. She watched as he pierced one of the weak boy’s wrists, and extracted some blood. The boy closed his eyes and groaned softly, trembling.

“Can you handle it yourself?” Helix asked Scarlett. It took a while to occur to Scarlett that he was talking about the boy. “Yes, father,” she murmured. “Good,” Helix smiled. “I’m going to run an analysis with this.” He held up the needle and walked out the door, leaving the boy and Scarlett alone.

Scarlett walked up to him and gently touched his neck. She could see the whip-marks made by Riven torturing him. The sound of the whips were frightening to Scarlett. She could sometimes hear it and the cry of pain from the boy. “What’s your name and Tribe?” She asked sharply. “Why does it matter?” The boy breathed weakly, his voice deep and dry. “Just tell me!”

“Dylan, assassin of Eclipse,” he muttered. Scarlett knew that Eclipse had killed her mother. Helix had been furious, and swore to fight Eclipse until his last breath. But still, I feel pity for Dylan. They’re using him against his will…against his Tribe.

“He’s not the assassin anymore, he’s our WEAPON.” Scarlett jumped at the wicked voice. Riven!

CHAPTER TWO

Riven laughed as he entered the room. He had a whip in his hand. “He’s WEAK,” he snarled. “Tried to protect his mother. I’m going to keep him from water. See what happens. Foolish boy!” He jeered, punching him hard in the stomach. Dylan struggled to defend himself, pain flashing in his gaze, but couldn’t. The chains were too strong. He was defenseless. Riven punched him again, then used the whip on him. “Stop!” Scarlett blurted out. Riven turned and glared with quiet threat at her. “What did you say?”

“N-nothing…” Scarlett mumbled. “Good,” Riven hissed. “Because we’re keeping him here until we drain all the power from him. We don’t have time for disloyal people.” With that, he left the room. Dylan’s head drooped. His neck was bleeding badly, and he seemed to be in serious pain. “Oh gosh…you okay?” Scarlett gasped. Dylan was wheezing for breath. Scarlett couldn’t believe how Riven and Helix treated him. That’s when she decided to help Dylan in secret. She ran to the Eclipse Tribe. She hadn’t been long when something slammed into her. She looked up. It was a girl, around her age. She had black hair and black eyes. “What Tribe are you from?” She snarled. “Phoenix,” Scarlett replied. The girl held the knife against her neck. “What’s your business with Eclipse?” She growled. Wow, Eclipse has gotten a lot more hostile. “I know where Dylan is,” Scarlett said, raising her hands to signal she was no harm. “You do?” The girl’s eyes widened and filled with love and sorrow. “You’re his girlfriend,” Scarlett guessed. The girl nodded. “I’m Raven.”

“I’m Scarlett.” Raven looked at her. “Come with me. You’re seeing Saber.” Scarlett followed the girl.

“Girl from Phoenix…” Scarlett looked up at the Eclipse leader, Saber. His eyes were cold and unfriendly. “What’s your explanation of being here?” He hissed. “I know where Dylan is,” Scarlett murmured, repeating what she said to Raven. For a moment, Saber’s eyes lit up with hope. But then, he shook his head. “You can be lying,” he growled. “I’m not, I swear!” Saber looked away. “Fine. But save him on your own. I don’t trust people from Phoenix.” Scarlett dipped her head. “Very well. I came to ask for help. But I guess I’ll have to do this on my own.” She walked away. Back to Helix’s office. Horror struck her as she heard the snap of a whip. “TELL ME WHERE SHE IS!” Scarlett ran towards the room where Dylan was being held captive. Riven was striking Dylan with the whip. Dylan glared at him, hatred in his gaze. “Never.” Riven roared with anger and struck him again. Dylan closed his eyes and winced at the pain. But Riven didn’t stop. “WHERE’S SCARLETT?” Scarlett flinched as Dylan let out an agonized wail and cringed as Riven hit him again and again, defenseless. He knew. He knew I was going to try to help him. Riven was doing this to get information from him. This was her fault. “I’m here, Riven.” Scarlett walked out from her hiding place behind the door. “Scarlett…where were you?” Riven hissed, turning his attention to her.

CHAPTER THREE

“I…” Scarlett thought fast. “I, um, went to take a drink from the stream.” Riven narrowed his eyes, as if trying to know whether or not to believe her. Finally, he smiled. It was empty of emotions. “Ok,” he said smoothly. “I believe you. Just tell me if you are going anywhere from now on.” Scarlett almost sighed out loud with relief. Riven left Scarlett alone with Dylan. Her heart ached at the sight of him. “I’m sorry…this is all my fault!” Dylan looked at her. “No,” he breathed. “It’s no one’s fault.”

“I found your friends…” Scarlett murmured. “I’ve decided to help you.” She guiltily remembered the Loyalty Oath that she had vowed. She was breaking it now. But it was for a good reason.

Scarlett studied the chains. They were tightly wrapped on Dylan, and a small keyhole was in the locks. When she tried unsuccessfully to unwrap it, Dylan let out a small, agonized groan. She immediately pulled her hand back. “Sorry!”

“It’s fine, all good,” he slurred. “I need the key!” Scarlett remembered the gold chain around Helix’s neck, leading down to a matching gold key. “That’s it…” she whispered to herself. “I’ve got to get him to trust me…enough to give me the key.” Scarlett ran to her father. “Do you think I’m ready to experiment with it?” She asked. Helix’s eyes widened with surprise. “I’ve never seen you this interested in my job,” he said. “I’ll think about it.” Without another word, he left. Scarlett sighed in frustration. She wanted it now. Maybe she can ask her boyfriend to help. She went into the bright sunlight of the Base above, and looked for him. “Rex?” She asked. “Scarlett? Over here!” Rex called. He was sitting at the edge of the Base. Rex had curly, light brown hair and green eyes. “What’s up?” Scarlett took a deep breath. She didn’t know how he would react. “I…I’m helping him.” Rex frowned. “Dylan?” He spat out the name like a piece of trash and glared at her. “Why?” He hissed, and dragged Scarlett out into the forest, where Riven wouldn’t overhear him. “What are you doing!? You’re risking your life to save a boy you’ve never met?” Scarlett met his eyes. “I know that he doesn’t deserve to be kept here,” she shot back at him. “I want to ask for help!”

“Do you really think I’ll help you?” Rex whispered angrily. “I’m not as reckless and foolish as you, Scarlett.” Scarlett gazed at him with calm indifference. “Fine. You and I are done.” She turned away. “Scarlett, you can’t do that! Your father chose me for you!” Rex shouted after her. “I don’t care. This is MY life. I get to choose, not my dad. He has his own life to govern.”

Scarlett almost crashed straight into Helix just as she said that. “Ah, I was just looking for you, Scarlett! I need to-” He broke off as he heard a crash near the wall. “Eclipse, ATTACK!

CHAPTER FOUR

They’re attacking. To save Dylan! Scarlett looked around in horror as the two Tribes launched into battle. Saber cornered her against a wall. “Where is he?” He growled. “Don’t do this, Saber! There is a way to fix the peace!” Saber looked away. “Scarlett, listen to me! There is no way. Believe me, I’ve tried.”

Her loyalty was torn between Dylan’s torture and the Phoenix Tribe. “I know you’re torn apart,” Saber whispered. “If Phoenix drives you into exile, we can take you in! We aren’t heartless. I know now that you don’t mean any harm.”

“I can’t just leave my father! He’s the only family I have left!” Saber suddenly embraced Scarlett in a hug. She found herself blushing while he was pressing close. “It’s your choice,” he breathed into her ear. What am I doing!? He suddenly let go of her. Something jumped onto Saber. Helix! “Leave her ALONE! Eclipse isn’t going to take my daughter too!”

“What?” Saber grunted under the weight of her father. “Don’t fake innocence! Eclipse took my family! Scarlett is the only thing I have left.”

“If that ever happened, I had nothing to do with it!” Saber snapped. “Where’s Dylan!?”

“If it isn’t his friend…it looks like you fulfilled your promise. But you won’t take the weapon we worked so hard to get.” Scarlett looked to see Riven. If I attack him, he won’t expect it. But I’ll be betraying Phoenix. If I help defeat Eclipse, I’ll be loyal, but Dylan will be…Scarlett shook off the thought. But staring at Saber’s desperate amber eyes made Scarlett’s decision. Scarlett grabbed the key and pulled it off forcefully from Helix’s neck. She attacked Riven, driving him back. They got into a wrestle, Scarlett trying to get a hold of Riven. “TRAITOR!”

“I’m sorry…Riven…I just can’t let you kill Dylan.” She ran to Saber and held his hand. She dragged him with her down the tunnel system until she reached the room. Saber gasped when he saw what state Dylan was in. “Help me!” She yelled at Saber, trying to stab the key in the lock. “I’ll do it.” Saber got hold of the key and unlocked it while Scarlett untangled the rest. “Saber…?” Dylan murmured weakly. “It’s me. I’m here now. Everything’s going to be okay,” Saber comforted. They managed to free Dylan, Saber supporting him gently. Suddenly, as they were trekking towards the door, Riven came and blocked it. “You are NOT escaping!” He snarled. Saber glanced at Scarlett, then got into combat with Riven, punching and firing blows. That distracted Riven enough for Dylan and Scarlett to stumble out. “Come on, Saber!” She cried. “We need to go,” Dylan muttered to her hoarsely. “He’s strong. He can handle it.”

The whole clearing was in chaos, no one noticing Dylan or Scarlett limping back to the Eclipse Tribe. Dylan seemed to have sprained something in his leg, because he barely touched the ground with it and winced every time he did. He leaned heavily on Scarlett.

It was official. Scarlett has betrayed Phoenix, and it was too late to turn back now.

CHAPTER FIVE

They were almost to the Eclipse Base when a spasm shot through Dylan and his legs buckled, crumpling to the ground. “Dylan?” Scarlett asked, panicked. For the first time, she noticed cold sweat on the sides of his head. Dylan was very pale and his lips were blue. “Stay with me! Dylan? Can you hear me? Stay with me!” Scarlett said in a frantic voice, shaking him firmly. She could see the whip marks left by Riven, and blood. Think, Scarlett, think! He needs water. Yes. Where can I find water? Scarlett looked towards the direction of the lake. If she ran, she might be able to make it back quickly. She just hoped no harm would come to Dylan while she was gone. Scarlett dashed to the lake. What can I use to hold water? She glanced around wildly until she spotted a huge leaf, grabbed it, and filled it up with water. She then ran carefully back to Dylan. Thankfully, nothing happened while she was gone. Scarlett held the leaf up to his lips, urging softly for him to drink.

“What’s happening?” Scarlett turned to see Saber approaching. He had a few wounds, but wasn’t badly injured. “I don’t know! Come on, Dylan…just swallow this…” Scarlett encouraged again. Dylan was struggling for air, his chest heaving with effort. He managed to swallow a bit of water while Saber knelt down, murmuring comforting words to him. He continued drinking down the water, bit by bit, getting stronger. “Are you okay, Dyl?” Saber asked gently. “Yes.” The word was rasped out painfully. Saber and Scarlett supported him on both sides as they made the rest of the way to Eclipse.

“Is your Tribe okay?” Scarlett asked. “Yes. We had a plan. They are right behind us,” Saber assured her. He turned to her. “I’m sorry you had to choose between your Tribe and ours…” he said. “It’s okay. It was the right thing to do, choosing you.” Scarlett blushed when she realized that she said ‘you’ instead of ‘Eclipse.’ Saber smiled. They reached the Base and sent Dylan to be given an analysis to make sure he was fine.

“Yes, he’s okay. Has a sprained right leg, but other than that, he just needs food and water,” the nurse informed them. Saber nodded, then assisted Dylan to the bedroom. He gave him food and water. After that, Dylan looked much better. Someone burst in. It was Raven. She ran to Dylan, pulled him in close, and kissed him, tears falling down her cheeks. She rested her head on his chest as Dylan hugged her. Their actions spoke a thousand words.

“Don’t ever leave me like that again, Dyl! Please don’t…” Raven sobbed. Dylan gazed into her tearful eyes. “It’s alright, Raven. I’m here now,” Dylan breathed, placing his hands on her face and wiping her tears away. Raven hugged him close, their love everlasting, forever.

CHAPTER SIX

The next day, Raven, Saber, Dylan, and Scarlett were out gathering food. They decided to split up into two to find some quicker. “Don’t leave your partner,” Saber instructed. “Who’s going with who?”

“I’ll go with Scarlett this time around.” Scarlett turned to Raven, surprised. “You want to?” Raven nodded. “Sure, I’ll go with Dyl,” Saber said.

Scarlett walked with Raven until she broke the silence. “You like Saber, don’t you?” She murmured. Scarlett looked up with surprise. “I saw that battle. I was there when Saber hugged you.” Raven turned to Scarlett. “Yes…I do like him,” she admitted. Raven danced around her. “I knew it! Dylan wanted to ship him with a girl called Dawn, guess he was wrong,” she murmured. “I know you’re suited for him.” Scarlett blushed. “I broke up with my boyfriend, Rex, just yesterday…” she said, trailing off. “Then he’s not right for you. Give Saber a shot. He’s been through so much,” Raven encouraged.

“How did you and Dylan meet?” Scarlett asked, curious. Raven stopped and looked at her. “Do you know Thorn?” Scarlett nodded. “The former leader of Cobra before Snake,” she said. “Well, she was a cruel, merciless leader. She took Dylan in when he was younger, and trained him until he was like her. A cold-blooded assassin.” Scarlett listened quietly. “But then, Thorn gave a mission that would change everything. To kill the former leader, Axel, and steal the pendant. Saber and I found him. I guess he changed his mind about Eclipse. He betrayed Thorn by fighting on our side when she attacked. He later got captured, but I set him free. That’s when I started having feelings…” Scarlett couldn’t believe it. Thorn was just like Riven. Cruel, ambitious. Dylan…he was just like her. “Saber was jealous. I don’t blame him. He liked me, I knew. But I liked Dylan. I couldn’t help how I felt. Saber pulled a trick on me, telling me that Dylan hurt him. I drove Dylan out. I can’t imagine how he felt. But then…then he came back. For me. I knew that he liked me too. He loved me. Saber got over jealousy. He’s fine now, a great friend to Dylan.” That made Scarlett feel like saving him was the right thing to do. His backstory is tragic…Eclipse really isn’t bad. Neither Saber or Dylan were to blame for my mother’s death. Dylan wasn’t even born then, and Saber was the same age as me! “I understand now. He’s just like me,” Scarlett murmured. “And Saber…Saber just wanted someone to love.” Raven looked up and nodded slightly. “Hey!” Scarlett whipped around. Riven was standing there. “Found you, traitor!”

“Leave her alone!” Raven shouted. Riven threw a dagger right at her neck, hitting accurately. “NO!” Scarlett screamed, and pounced on Riven. Through her anger, she managed to hit a few blows, but Riven knocked her quickly down. He was about to land a final blow when suddenly, Dylan appeared with a dagger. He swiped expertly at Riven. He backed down. “I’ll be back for you. And you won’t escape me!” Riven hissed

CHAPTER SEVEN

Scarlett ran back to Raven. Dylan was kneeling over her. “No,” he whispered, his voice shaking. Tears began to fall. He gently picked her up. Fury flashed in his gaze. “Riven will pay for this,” he hissed. “...Dylan…?” Raven asked softly. “It’s okay Raven,” Dylan comforted her. He ran to the lake, dipped his hand in water, and gently touched her neck. The wound healed completely as Scarlett watched, in awe of Dylan’s power. “This was why Riven wanted it…” she muttered to herself. Dylan looked up. “I need to see Storm.” Scarlett knew Storm was Riven’s brother, but nothing like him. He was Glacier’s assassin. He bet “You’re going to be okay, Raven.” Dylan glanced at Saber and Scarlett. “Keep her safe, please?” He asked. Saber gave him a comforting smile. “Sure.” Dylan dipped his head and walked away, towards the Glacier Tribe. “Dylan, please be cautious!” Raven called after him.

Scarlett, Raven, and Saber walked back to the Base. “I thought getting Dylan back was going to settle the conflict,” Saber muttered. “But Riven isn’t going to stop there.” While they waited for Dylan to get back, they sat in Saber’s bed, talking in quiet conversations.

“Saber.” Scarlett turned around to see Dylan at the door. “Storm agrees that his brother is too ambitious and cold for good leadership of Phoenix. They’re going to hold a fight at the arena. Storm said he’ll talk Riven into it.”

“Who’s fighting him?” Raven asked. Dylan shrugged. “Whoever wants to challenge him for Phoenix’s leadership.”

“Could it be outside the Tribe too?” Saber asked. “Yes,” Dylan replied.

The next day, they headed for the arena. All of the other Tribes were attending too. Riven was standing in the center of the arena sands. “Who dares to challenge me?” He shouted, a sinister grin spreading across his face. “I’m going to change the rules. It’s now going to be FIGHT TO THE DEATH!” There was silence. The people watching shrinked away from him. Dylan looked around. Storm was glaring coldly at Riven, no mercy showing in his eyes. But Scarlett knew he didn’t want to fight his own brother. No one else was showing bravery. Except…Dylan. Dylan was staring at the arena, uncertainty in his eyes. Raven noticed. “No…Dylan don’t do it. You aren’t even part of Phoenix!” Scarlett could practically see the flashes of memory in Dylan’s expression. She guessed that he had once been in the arena. “Who do you expect to do it then? Raven, no one is volunteering,” Dylan whispered. “I can’t afford to lose you again!” Raven protested. “But…it’s what I have to do. Phoenix deserves a better leader,” Dylan murmured. Raven sighed. “I suppose I can’t convince you not to go?” Dylan nodded. “Then…go. Let your battle skills help, Dyl.” Raven hugged him tight, not wanting to let go. “RIVEN!” Dylan shouted. “I’ll challenge you."

CHAPTER EIGHT

“Ah…isn’t it Dylan.” Riven smirked and narrowed his eyes. “Or otherwise called…IT,” he jeered. Dylan ignored the smug comment and walked out onto the arena sands. “I’m challenging you, Riven. Not for leadership. But for Phoenix’s own good,” Dylan hissed coldly. “Very well,” Riven muttered. Then, without a warning, he lunged on top of Dylan, pinning him down as he struggled to escape the sudden attack. Riven gave him a smug grin. “Also, I don’t think using your powers is fair,” he snarled as Dylan shot a blast of water. He pulled out a dagger. “Oh, damn it, it’s poisoned!” Saber cursed, a panicked edge to his voice. “The one he used to capture him!”

“Isn’t this going to be easy,” Riven sneered. Dylan kicked Riven hard, then pulled out a sharp knife from his pocket. “No, it’s not.” He held the knife up against Riven, trying to defend himself. Riven tried to keep Dylan pinned down, but he was strong. Dylan kicked him one more time, knocking Riven off himself. Riven threw the dagger, which pierced Dylan in the side. “Gosh…” Raven hissed. Dylan staggered, then collapsed. Saber tried to run down to help, but one of Phoenix’s guards blocked him. “It’s one on one,” he grunted.

“Hah! You’re as weak as a mouse,” Riven taunted, his voice full of scorn. He kicked him hard. Dylan let out an agonized groan. “The poison…what’s it doing to me…” Dylan stuttered as he clutched his side. “Oh, Whirlpool…help me!” He wheezed. Riven glared down at him with cruel, merciless eyes. “You’ll never win this battle,” he jeered. Suddenly, his side lit up with an ocean blue glow. “Don’t worry, Dylan…” the voice was deep and soothing. The wound disappeared, and Dylan lay there, panting for breath. “WHAT! That’s unfair!” Riven screamed. “What’s unfair is that you used a poison dagger on me!” Dylan hissed. He advanced on Riven, their knives clashing together. Riven threw one of his poison daggers, but Dylan dodged. “Hmm…you have some good moves…” Riven snarled. “I’ll need backup.” Before Dylan knew what was happening, four Phoenix guards suddenly appeared in the arena and started driving him back with powerful blows.

“You TOLD me that it was one on one!” Saber screamed at the guard. He once again tried to barge past, but the guard held him back. “Riven’s orders.” Saber glared at him. Dylan was now defending himself as the guards and Riven closed in on him, blows coming from all sides. “Since you’re cheating…” Dylan’s wrist cuffs and pendant glowed. He sent a blast of water in all directions, driving them back. “He’s dangerous,” Riven hissed a warning to the guards. He made a tiny motion with his hand. They threw all their knives, some managing to hit Dylan back. Dylan stumbled and fell, breathing hard. He let out a gasp of pain and surprise. “Pin him down!” Riven ordered the guards. They pinned his legs and arms down, leaving his throat exposed and vulnerable. Dylan struggled to use his powers, but couldn’t manage to get his hands free. Riven used his sharp knife…and threw it down. Straight at Dylan’s weak point.

CHAPTER NINE

“NO!” Scarlett screeched. She had tried so hard to save him from her father and Riven. Her efforts couldn’t be for nothing. “No…no,” Raven whispered, her voice shaking hard. “DYLAN!” Saber’s eyes flashed with fury. Storm suddenly ran down, pushing past the guards in his anger. “Riven…how can one person be so cruel!? You CHEATED!” Without another word, Storm attacked his own brother. “You aren’t my brother. I am ashamed I am even related to YOU!” Storm snarled. Through his own fury, Storm unleashed his full energy on Riven, driving him back. He managed to land several blows, weakening Riven, but his guards quickly drove him back. “You are not going to do the same thing you did to Twister to me!” Riven hissed. Saber finally pushed the guard down and ran over to Dylan. Scarlett and Raven sprinted after him. Raven pressed her ear to his chest. “No…” Raven wailed. “No…he can’t be dead…he can’t be.” Tears fell as she shook violently, fighting to keep it in. Scarlett knew then that his heart had stopped beating. “No…our efforts can’t be for nothing,” Scarlett cried. Saber was staring in horror at Dylan. Suddenly, as he closed his eyes, a tear trickled down his cheek. Raven looked at him. Scarlett had never thought that the brave leader of Eclipse could cry. She gently hugged him, feeling his body rack with sobs. “Saber…I’m sorry…” Scarlett murmured softly. Suddenly, Dylan blinked open his eyes feebly. “Dylan?” Scarlett asked, shocked.

“WHAT!?” Riven screeched. “How is that possible!?”

“Dylan,” Storm addressed him with a look of awe and concern. “Are you alright?” Dylan nodded slowly, determination sparking in his eyes. He had a serious neck wound, but he looked like he could handle it. “Riven tried to kill me, but I dodged the blow, it hit me on the side. Whirlpool…he brought me back.” Dylan looked at Storm. “It’s time to defeat him once and for all.” He grabbed the knife beside him and approached Riven. The four guards backed away. Scarlett and the others backed away. It was the final clash.

Riven snarled and lunged at Dylan, two daggers in hand. “I am winning this battle!” He screeched. Dylan just matched his blows, managing to hit lots of them in. Finally, Dylan sent a powerful wave of water, knocking him down. “Help me!” Riven screamed at the guards. They just shook their heads, looking down guiltily. “You don’t deserve mercy after all you’ve done to the Tribes.” Dylan drove the dagger across his throat quickly. “I hope you will regret it, ex-leader of Phoenix.” Dylan searched for Storm. He was standing there, watching the clash coldly. “Riven…Dylan is much more like a brother to me,” Storm muttered. Riven went limp. He closed his eyes. Dylan stood up. Suddenly, he staggered and collapsed. “Dylan!?” Saber hissed.

CHAPTER TEN

Scarlett looked over at him. He was panting. “His neck…it’s worse,” Scarlett observed. Saber ran over and pulled out a white cloth. “Here, hold this on his neck. Apply pressure, Raven,” he murmured quickly as he handed it to her. Raven pressed the cloth firmly against Dylan’s neck. “He’s exhausted,” Saber whispered.

“Scarlett!” Scarlett turned to see Helix, her father running up to her. He gave her a big hug. “Don’t scare me like that again, Scarlett!” He scolded. Rex was behind him, glaring at her. “Why did you ditch me?” he hissed. Scarlett sighed. “We are too different. And…I don’t have feelings for you.”

“Then who do you have feelings for!?” Rex snarled. Scarlett was stuck. She didn’t know what to say. Finally, she made up her mind. “Saber.” Rex recoiled in shock. “The leader of the Tribe that killed your mother!? Are you crazy?”

“Yes! I have feelings for Saber,” Scarlett snapped. “Saber was just born when it happened, and Dylan and Raven weren’t even born yet!” She caught Saber blushing at the corner of her eye. “It’s not their fault!”

“My question is…why’d you betray me? Betray Phoenix? Why’d you set him free?” Helix asked quietly. “Riven was a horrible leader. And I don’t belong there,” Scarlett muttered. “Dylan doesn’t deserve to be an EXPERIMENT!” Scarlett spat out the last word. “He’s human, Helix. He’s been through a lot. Just like me. I’m not going back to Phoenix. I belong in Eclipse. With my friends.” Helix shook his head sadly. “I’m sorry, Scarlett. I never gave a thought about how you felt. It’s your life to govern.” Scarlett ran and hugged her father. “Thank you,” she murmured. Rex was staring at Scarlett with anger. “I will never forgive you for leaving me.” Scarlett ignored him. “Leave her alone, Rex,” Dylan breathed faintly. She looked at him with a grateful smile. Rex shot him a furious glance, turned, and stormed away. Helix took one last look at her, and walked away as well. Scarlett was left alone with her group of friends.

“Do you really mean it?” Saber asked her hoarsely. “You like me?” Scarlett smiled. “Yes,” she answered simply. Saber’s eyes filled with tears. “I love you,” she repeated, and embraced Saber with a kiss, feeling his strong heartbeat. She felt like she was on top of the world. Her destiny was complete. Saber was the last piece, awaiting her.

“Aww…how nice,” Dylan rasped softly. Saber turned to him. “Dylan, you alright?” Dylan groaned feebly. “I’m fine…” Raven rolled her eyes. “Dylan, can’t you speak the truth for once? I know you’re hurt.” Dylan smiled faintly. “I’ll be fine, I swear,” Dylan insisted stubbornly. Raven couldn’t help smiling and hugging him. “You are the most reckless person I’ve seen in my fifteen years,” she joked.

CHAPTER ELEVEN

Raven, Scarlett, and Saber managed to assist Dylan all the way back to Eclipse. “I wonder who the new leader of Phoenix will be,” Saber murmured. “I hope it’s not anyone like those ambitious three.” Scarlett muttered an agreement. They were in their bedroom. “We better make space for you, Scarlett,” Dylan murmured. His neck looked much better now that the doctor had treated it. Scarlett was happy to stay in Eclipse. It was made up of young adults and teens, she noticed. Most of them were youthful. The moment they reached their bedroom, Dylan let himself fall onto the bed. “I never want to participate in a fight to the death ever again,” he muttered. “That’s good!” Raven climbed onto the bed with him, getting close. Saber and Scarlett also squeezed themselves into the bed.

“At least…the clash of the Tribes is finally over,” Saber whispered. “Let’s move another bed into here,” Raven said, gesturing to the room. “We’ll have to move over.” Saber and Raven pushed a bed into their room, with additional efforts from Scarlett. “Do you need help?” Dylan offered. Raven glanced at him softly. “You’re not strong enough.”

“I’m not a kid!” Dylan protested. Raven just smiled. “You have the spirit of one.”

After they were done moving the bed, Scarlett got on. “Comfy,” she observed. Saber laughed, and climbed on with her. “Dylan, are you okay? I mean, from Helix…” Raven murmured. She put her hand on one of the marks, and he inhaled sharply. She recoiled. “I’m fine,” he muttered.

“Take your hoodie off,” Raven ordered. Dylan hesitated, then did what Raven said. Scarlett closed her eyes, memories flashing. Riven’s whip. His torture. The chains. His wails of agony. She heard Raven gasp, and opened her eyes again. Raven was placing her hands behind his neck, hugging him close. “Poor Dylan…”

“I never thought it would be this bad,” Saber muttered, and joined him. “I’ll be okay,” Dylan breathed softly. Raven broke down in tears. “We should’ve got you earlier, we should’ve believed Scarlett…I’m so sorry, we-” Dylan kissed her, breaking her sentences. “Shut up, Raven, it was not your fault. Or Saber’s. It was no one’s fault but mine.” He put one arm around her, and looked at Scarlett with his blue eyes full of emotion. “Thank you for saving me,” he choked out, his voice thick. “I couldn’t just let you suffer there,” Scarlett whispered gently.

“I hope the new leader of Phoenix is better than that. What if we pay Phoenix a visit?” Saber suggested. Scarlett nodded in agreement. She wanted to see her father again. Dylan put his hoodie back on. The four then went to Phoenix.

The new leader of Phoenix shouldn’t be so bad. I know some of the people there, and I know some are good.

CHAPTER TWELVE

“Scarlett? What are you doing here?” Helix asked when he spotted her. He gave her a brief hug. “We’re here to see who is the leader of Phoenix now,” Saber said. “Phoenix did horrible things to Dylan…” Saber turned to him. Dylan sighed and lifted up his hoodie to reveal sickening, long whip-marks. Helix glanced at him, guilt and defiance in his gaze. “I know that I did some wrong, but I am not responsible for all of his pain.”

Saber dipped his head. “I know. Riven is at fault for that. That’s why we want to make sure Phoenix has a leader that is bold, yet is sensible to his or her choices.” Helix nodded slowly. “We have a leader now. I think he’s a good choice.”

Thordis emerged from the Base, and approached the group. He greeted them politely. “I promise to be a good leader. I will rebuild Phoenix into a Tribe that they can be proud of,” he murmured. “I’m sorry, Dylan, for the pain that Riven caused. I know he was cruel, and I was wrong to follow his orders.” Dylan lowered his head in acknowledgement. “It’s not anyone’s fault. Riven was too ambitious for his own good. But still, we'll never know what Riven’s backstory is,” Dylan said.

“The clash of the Tribes…it’s over.”

EPILOGUE

“So it’s a fifteen-year-old boy causing trouble, eh?” The government concluded. “Yes, sir,” said the police chief. “I fired two shots at him for stealing the expensive jewelry, but he got away.” The government narrowed his eyes as he continued listening. “He had two friends with him. One a teenage girl, one a teenage boy, looks to be about seventeen.”

“We shall not tolerate this. Where’re they headed?” The government gruffly asked. “To the lands near the west of here, sir. Looks like they live freely, not under anyone’s rules.”

“I didn’t know about this,” the government hissed. “They will be arrested for robbery and living here illegally.” He looked at the police chief. “Find them. Hand out posters saying wanted. Dead or alive.”

Alright, hi cats and here goes 😊

I appreciate the person list at the beginning ^^

My first thought is that you could work a little on your paragraphing. Each dialogue/speaker deserves their own paragraph. It really improves readability.
Right now, the prologue feels really disjointed and rush bc of that. Things happen without you giving us the time and space to appreciate their impact.

An example, this one here, would be just one line:

“Come, daughter. I have something to show you. My latest works.”

And the next sentence would be a new paragraph since this is Scarlett reacting to the speech.

I don’t know what it says about her tho that her first thought at seeing a chained and helpless character is thinking that he’s cute while her father is prepared to just use him as an experiment… Or the fact that she thinks abt his availability and not the dehumanizing condition he’s in. It feels… very out of touch.
I like the descriptions a lot and his reactions feel realistic. It makes Scarlett’s thoughts feel even less fitting to the situation. But at least her father knows her very well, not expecting her to help or anything and he was right :)
I’m also curious in why torture was necessary to draw out the magical powers or in general. Since he’s already been captured and all and you technically don’t want your only test subject to die on you.

Oh and I’m surprised that Scarlett kinda new about it. It felt a little like she didn’t suspect it. But I guess that does explain her chill reaction to all this.

Hmm I like that she decides to help in the end even if it took her a while. Would have liked more of a reflection on all that. It feels all a bit too… clinical.
Also it feels very rushed in that she can just casually go to the other tribe in what feels like no time.

Why wouldn’t Dylan talk about Scarlett? It’s not like they had a conversation. He really doesn’t know what she’s up to so this is just needless defiance, not?

So I have a lot of thoughts in general about the story. I like the ideas of the different tribes and the idea of Scarlett’s dad being so burnt by what happened, that he’s ready to be cruel in turn. I like the magical powers and that Scarlett wants to help etc
It’s just that you jump around in the narrative a lot, only describe a selected few things and there’s not a real grasp on how much time reasonably passed. It’s also hard to read bc of the long paragraphs. It feels like the story passes way, way too fast and I can’t get a good grasp on all the characters and that makes it hard to care about them. My tip is to really focus on each scene and describe where everyone is, the most important features of their surroundings and maybe their expressions etc. That would really help with getting immersed!

Thanks so much! Appreciate your feedback and your reactions, and I do agree it is a bit rushed and I need to work on the paragraphs. Thanks SO much again!!!!

Review

Hello again, CATS! This is Alex, back again with a review. I'm left with a bittersweet feeling as I realise this is the last book of the series as of now, it's been one amazing journey till here. Let's dive right in. I've got to win this for our team , you see.

Prologue

Wow, this was an emotional backstory. I barely know this character- Helix, but I feel intrinsically connected to his pain. To lose your wife and the mother to your newborn daughter to an attack by the Eclipse really goes to justify his stand against them. I'm still with the protagonists but I understand his position. Completely heartbreaking! I was not expecting for you to begin so boldly. I'm really excited now!

Chapter 1

Okay I loved how you begin with extreme clarity, I like to know what we're getting into. The power dynamics and purpose were very served here, without making it too elaborate.

It's really fascinating to see Helix refer to Dylan as 'it'. Is his hatred for the Eclipse tribe really that strong. But I think that's not quite it, for I sense a hidden implication. Helix sees Dylan as nothing but a vessel for the power. To him, our protagonist holds as much importance as an object. And that justifies the pronoun. Am I getting that correctly?

Scarlett is the most interesting character right now. Based on how she's portrayed, I have a feeling she might switch sides later on. I did find the romantic outlook odd like why can't a girl see a guy and not think he's cute all the time. She has a nice empathetic nature, and views Dylan as a person unlike her father. Asking his name and tribe acts as an undeniable testimony to it. The contrast between the father daughter duo is rather striking. Very well thought out!

I do think her dialogues could use more material though. Her conversation with Dylan seems hollow and she barely reacts to her father's words. She's unique but she needs a little more polishing in the presentation aspect. She has loads of potential, given her inside position. I'd excited to see you tap into it!

Chapter 2

Well, I wasn't wrong. But I find it odd that Scarlett just hurries to the Eclipse base after promising to help him in secret. For a girl as terrified as she is of Riven, I'd think it more realistically if she were slower and more cautious in action. Maybe keeping her intentions hidden untill someone from the Eclipse tribe inevitably comes to rescue him? That sounds like a much better plan than bursting into enemy territory unarmed, even if she only wished to help them.

Also, for Saber, I just can't believe it. Why's he so cold towards Dylan all of a sudden? He pulled back from the robbery and now refuses to rescue him. Why's his character going though a degrading steep out of the blue. Has the jealousy kicked back? Those little references suggest otherwise but I really don't know what to make of this. He could've atleast interrogated her more to find out her legitimacy and loyalty but he didn't. Even if he couldn't trust someone from the enemy tribe (a valid concerns) wholly, sending a guards to help Scarlett in the mission is pretty much the least he could've done. I hate to see that she took all this risk for nothing.

Raven's silence on Saber's questionable decisions troubles me even more. If she loves Dylan so much, why doesn't she push Saber to ensure Dylan's safety? She's aware that she could still impact but it's like she doesn't care which is so odd indeed. I would've expected more resistance from her, seeing his boyfriend is being left without aid.

Scarlett showing herself to Riven was a really bold move on her part. While it does contradict her timidness, I believe she did it to protect Dylan from more harm- & that checks out with the empathetic eyes she's always had for him. It does look like she's got no way out no, it's about to turn ugly.

I feel I must point how the protagonists are acting too inconsistent these last few chapters (of the previous book upto this one). Saber is always turning away from the trible Dylan lands in and Raven is as quiet as a rock about it. Scarlett is taking more action to rescue Dylan than his own girlfriend, like is that actually supposed to make sense?

Chapter 3

I thought fooling Riven was going to be a little more difficult than that but perhaps he's more muscle than brain. That does should like s real possibility, actually.

A clever tactic on Scarlett's part to act like she is interested in her father's research. I specifically liked how you nailed the detail of her using 'it' for Dylan, to subconsciously impress or call to Helix.

Rex was quite realistically portrayed here. It's only obvious that he'd fear Riven and the retribution they'd face for rescuing an enemy, if discovered. I had actually forgotten that you mentioned him though. It makes her little crush on Dylan even more awkward, as she is herself commited to someone else.

You and I are done.” She turned away. “Scarlett, you can’t do that! Your father chose me for you!” Rex shouted after her. “I don’t care. This is MY life. I get to choose, not my dad. He has his own life to govern.”

Empowering scene! It's very skillfully written. Additionally, I think it gives Scarlett's character so much strength. I'm loving her development, hopefully it stays this good. I might actually like her more than our protagonists, as of now.

I'm curious of this sudden attack. Did the Eclipse tribe decide to help Scarlett in rescuing Dylan afterall? I do think that to be the case. If true, this could be the redemption they've been needing for a while. Onto the action sequel!

Chapter 4

Saber holding onto Scarlett for a moment too long- do we have our new ship? I must admit, they don't look too bad on paper. But it is embarrassing that he dismissed her when they first met, saying he couldn't trust her. Not sure if this the the foundation people can build a relationship on.

The inner conflict was very well condensed here. Scarlett stands at the crossroads, having to choose between morale and kin. Wonderful work in portrayal.

An acknowledgment of the severity of Dylan's wounds was a nice detail. It makes the torture look all the more real and the pain even more agonizing.

Chapter 5

I'm curious which lake is being referred here. Is the one with the magical healing powers? But if that were so, Dylan would've recovered right away. At the same time, I don't think you've mentioned any other lake nearby. Or maybe I'm just overthinking this, I don't know.

Okay, I'll admit, Scarlett's slip up was a little cute. It's innocent and yet get the points of Scarlett having a crush across to the reader.

Their actions spoke a thousand words.

Indeed! I fear I may have been too harsh to Raven due to her indifference towards Dylan running in harm recently. But at the end of the day, she's the one who gets hurt. I can't imagine it difficult it must be for her. Loving a reckless hero is not a task for the weak of heart. She's as brave as our beloved protagonist, if not more. This depiction of their love was so pulling as it really conveys the worry and longing extremely well.

Chapter 6

It was a nice change to give the girls a scene to themselves. Away from the confusing actions, I think this scene really sets up a heart to heart talk and moment for them to reflect on their true thoughts and feelings. Raven is always portrayed as the younger sister, building other girls in love. Seems to be exactly the case here.

Okay the correlation Scarlett draws between Riven and Dylan is interesting to say the least. I believe the argument would've stood if he never joined the Eclipse but that just isn't the case here. He may have been manipulated but he is a whole another person now than who used to be Thorn's cold assasin.

The sudden ambush definitely reminded me of your usual style which was more commonly seen in the early chapters. A little nostalgic, to be honest. But oh no, Raven's injured. That's new, as it's usually Dylan going through the injuries. On a more technical note though, I feel this scene was extremely well written. From Raven becoming defensive of Scarlett, to the boys coming to the rescue and Riven fleeing but not without a warning that he'd return- in the form of the attack on Raven.

Chapter 7

I'm actually torn on how you proceeded things here. I do think Dylan's reaction might have underplayed a bit. His girlfriend just lands a fatal cut and he goes to plan a way to get rid of Riven? That sounds like a not so important matter now. It'd make much more sense if he focussed on her instead. I do acknowledge that he did heal her but it still feels a little too sudden to plan their enemy's fall. If I were him, I'd stay with her for some time just to make sure she's actually fine and there are no effects of poison from the cut. But cutting Dylan some slack, he is not as caring as Raven. Considering a practical outlook, his actions don't appear that cold. She had people to look after her, but only he could remove the threat altogether. In fact, one could argue he's just being protective on a longer term basis and is going beyond to ensure her continued safety. Either way, I don't think there was a perfect choice here. Waiting too long would give Riven power and going too soon looked negligent.

A duel was a nice revival of something you introduced a while ago. It seems a respected way to solve conflict with the least amount of bloodshed. First Dylan vs Saber and I think Dylan even fought this other girl whose name I can't recall at the moment.

I definitely saw Dylan volunteering from miles away XD.
It was actually sweet to see Raven being understanding of this decision of his, even if it puts him in danger. As much as she must wish that he just not, she can't stop him from being himself- the very same person she fell in love with. She predicts it and let's him go, even if it means betting her own love at the stake.

My one complaint here is how this makes the plot extremely predictable. Dylan can't die because he's the main character so we know the outcome of the battle already, ruining the suspense. I actually think Storm would've made for a much fitting opponent, given his blood relation and angst. But let's see how you take things from here, I don't want to judge too quickly.

Chapter 8

Whatttt, why does this battle have no ground rules?!

I'm actually with Riven on this one. Dylan does have an immense advantage of magic on his side. Plus when he's dying, he literally asks Whirlpool to save him? Like how could he ever lose like this. I don't deny the poison dagger was a low blow, but Dylan is playing this a lot more unfairly. The guards interfering was the last straw though like what is even happening! The duel turned to be pure chaos. I deserved much better conduct from Dylan at least.

Saber was pretty stupid here as well. Stopping because Riven's guard asked him to like you're not supposed to listen to the enemy!

Chapter 9

Saber rushing to Dylan side by pushing through the guard was so painfully delayed like finally!! But frankly I didn't expect him to grow emotional like that. It's such a vulnerable moment for him. It's a great counter reply to my initial complain of him abandoning Dylan, maybe out of unsolved jealousy. But this really shows how much he cared about him. He may not agree with Dylan's reckless antics at times but he really cares for hom as a friend. I feel like the weight of responsibilities really compels him to put his own life (as he's an important figure to lead his tribe and they need him) and Eclipse's safety over helping his friend who doesn't have the best plans. I might've really misunderstood him for a while there, when he was just bound by tie in the situation.

Okay I frankly didn't expect for you to bring in Storm so late. We all know what his fury can do! Afterall, we got an entire book on it XD

I should really not be saying this but Ravena- where's your CPR now that you actually need it? Like stay consistent, for heaven's sake!

I actually liked that they restored order for the final combat. Finally, Riven's slayed! But Dylan has fainted, yet again. If I had a hundred points for everytime he does, I'd never have to review again XD

Chapter 10

Helix and Rex making returning for some much needed closure was a nice surprise. After the duel, it feels like you're tying loose ends- a good practice. I do find Helix's sudden redemption a little out of the blue though. While Rex reclaims his image as the toxic ex, Helix seems to be completely transformed and I'm not sure I like it. In a way, you're killing his entire character as there was no implication to a soft core deep inside him. I do think this change of heart a little unnecessary.

So it's finally out in the open- Scarlett x Saber are offical. I'm actually you impressed you waited this long for it. While the hints may not have been subtle, you gave some buffer time to the reader for evaluating the couple themself. That's a visible growth for you, as a writer.

Dylan and Raven's playful exchange was surprisingly refreshing here. Even after all this time, their love is lighthearted and fulfilling. They're in such a healthy relationship and all these scenes make sure the reader knows it. I actually wasn't so sure of them when you started with the ship but they've really grown on me. Through all the disturbing ambushes and risky missions, they've acted as the much needed anchors to the story. I really love their effortless chemistry.

Chapter 11

I should've talked about this in the previous chapter but enough was going on already and the consequences begin really begin to play out here so I thought a better place. The topic? Scarlett staying in Eclipse. I feel that has become a consistent theme with the series- the good guys stay in Eclipse. It started out with Dylan staying back after he defied Thorn and is reviving as Scarlett. I think these both have some fragile but valid justification- romance. Dylan stayed because he fell for Raven and Scarlett is staying for Saber. Personally, I think Eclipse might be getting too crowded with major characters, while the rest are barely getting by. Take Glacier for example. Before Storm, they were almost nothing. Frost may be a noble woman but that woman isn't made the kind of strong it takes to rule. With storm at her side, she's a lot more secured. Even Cobra as of now, survives solely on Snake. Dallas seems alright but he has no spine in the main plot. As time has progressed, we've seen more and more less of outside Eclipse. And it isn't getting busy in a good way but instead a suffocating way. No many plants in the same pot kills them all. I'm afraid that's what we're heading towards. Worry not, I have an easy solution.

The idea is simple- Scarlett OR Dylan move to Phoenix. Scarlett has lived her entire life there and just inherently fits there. She might not have liked the atmosphere before but things are bound to change now. She knows the people and the place- she might even lead them in a new era if she took over the leadership. Alternatively, Dylan could take charge. It seems only logical as he's the one who defeated Riven, even if he announced beforehand the battle is not for the throne. I think it'd give him a change of place and some room to grow. You could make the partner move along in either cases. I can imagine distance being hard on a new couple plus Saber giving away his rule would be too much. So Dylan taking over Phoenix would be more sensible. At the same time, a crazy idea came to me- what about he returns to his home Cobra and the brothers rule together? That'd be certainly a unique plot. Whether Raven accompanies or not is a coin toss for me. If she does, we get her settling in a new environment and all the development that comes from it. If she doesn't, we get to how distance impacts their stable relationship. And there's also her friendship with Saber which could blur with love again given Dylan is away. The idea I'm least excited about is Saber abandoning Eclipse to go with Scarlett to Phoneix. Just is because he has such an established image as the leader already and I don't want to ruin it. It also brings on the least amount of change, making things monotonous. Any option you choose, moving half the protagonists to Phoneix might be a good option. This would really give more room for each of them to shine and allow the narrative to cover multiple Tribes consistently.

Let's return to the chapter itself. It looks mostly filler. Which is not a bad thing after all the chaos. It's definitely the silence after a storm. The scenes between our main couple are extremely endearing to read. I actually missed this. This is really redeeming Raven's absence in the narrative, as I once pointed out earlier. I'm actually curious to see who's the new leader. Is it Helix? Actually I might understand his awkward redemption arc then, if you were to showcase him as the transformed noble leader now.

Chapter 12

A new character for a leader? It's a classic safe choice you couldn't go wrong with. Though I'm not particularly fond of this, as it's essentially pushing into the plot a character we know nothing about. I personally prefer it when a character is given power after the reader is made familiar with them. But it's your call to make of course, and we actually didn't have great options to begin with so it's completely fair. It's nice to see Dylan's pain acknowledged. Recognising and taking accountability of the wrong is the first step towards doing right!

One thing I genuinely feel though - the idea of a clash of tribes was pretty exaggerated. It was more of combating Phoenix really. The unnecessary fight scene of all the tribes on Eclipse felt like a forced show to justify the title of the book. I just believe it could've done a whole lot better if you went in a different direction with this.

Epilogue

Oh my lord!! Never did I foresee this in a million years. Government interference in the lives of tribes? This is one hell of an exciting idea. The 'dead or alive' was really a nail in the coffin. The police means buisness this time - that's rich, coming from people who just let the protagonists take the jewelry with them. Ahhhh you've certainly got my attention with your future project.

For this book, I feel like I was developed some major complaints about the character degradation. Saber wasn't too keen to help Dylan, Raven grew absent in the narrative even when her boyfriend needed her to speak for him. But in the end, it all came together. I'm thoroughly impressed with how well you turned things around, even before my concerns could reach you. I'm not unaware of the insane amount of talent it'd take to pull this off as successfully as you did. I may not agree with a lot of the plot decisions you make, but I can recognise how much you've grown as a writer.

With this, I rest my review. I'm overcome by a feeling of love and longing for this beautiful journey of an elaborate series. My last review of today as well, let's hope this is enough to make us win. I still can't imagine I read so much of this tale. The characters will always stay in my heart. Your talent of coming up with twists is unmatched. I'll miss doing this, Dylan, his beloved Raven and their dear friends, the tribes, the battles, the love stories and everything. It has been a pleasure reviewing this for you, CATS. Hope you're having an amazing time at the swim meet. All the best, I know you'll do great.
