I hosted a Lyric Writing Contest, and Cat_910 took 1st place in it, so I was to write music to the lyrics she submitted. The lyrics are as follows:

To Dream the Dream of Others

by Cat_910

Mysteries of others

can seem so vast and strange.

Their feelings and their thoughts;

a charade that's due to change.

To understand who they are

is harder than it seems.

The only true way to do that

is to dream their dreams.

To dream others' dreams,

to know of their thoughts.

To understand their feelings

of misery and loss.

Of cheer and peace and happiness,

of a joy that truly gleams.

To understand a person

you must dream their dreams.

This is the url to the music. I am singing, and yes, I suck, so please you don't need to comment on that. ^_^ What I'm looking for in here is how well the music goes with the lyrics, and any adjustments you think I should make. Praise is good, but critiques make us better, you know. ;)

Happy listening everyone! Angel of Death's The Talking of Swans won 2nd place, and I will promptly begin writing her music.

Wondermous Bear. You truly aren't that bad. I'm gonna like bug you for the music. I think Cat said she was going to get our band teacher to let her play it on her clarinet but I'm not sure. Good job.

Awe, Jared that was good!

The music went well with the lyrics and for some reason, it made me think of The Phantom of the Opera. With Cat's amazing lyrics and your genius this was simply great.

P.S. Your voice wasn't all that bad. You actually sing better than some people I know. And I can't wait for mine!

.........

Awesome.

(end of the amazing critique made by yours truly)

Also, curious question? Are you going to make three different versions still? Just curious.

This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much all of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.
