(hey, my novella has a surprising number of moments where sky colour comes into focus).

Ok, but this is such a cool idea. I love it when authors use the sky as a metaphor or for symbolism. And these subtle details are what make a story unique and interesting!

Great going, Lim! :)

Day 18

Described the rules of how magic works in this setting. Listed some geological features that could appear in the story when characters are travelling from one place to another. My next move is to try and explain or redesign the specific ecosystems I used in the story draft. I've already come up with a way to explain the lake that mirrors the state of your soul (which is a plot-important location) such that I don't need an explanation of how souls work in this universe (it's just the magic present in someone's body) and also I don't have to make the water itself uniquely magical (it's just bioluminescent critters that by mysterious means react to the magic in someone's body upon contact).

Day 19

Listed the ecosystems that the characters pass through in the story (or mention) and started working out the details of the titular 'Amber Forest' (not to be confused with a real-life nature reserve of the same name. I might change the name of mine if some brilliant idea strikes me.)

Sorry I'm so late, but it's so exciting that you were able to finish a draft of your last Camp NaNo project and you've started a new idea. It sounds like you've been doing some serious development on your worldbuilding and story lore, which is amazing. You've got this :)

Day 20

Did a little bit of stuff today, and decided to record it here even though it was just a small part. I did some research on plants to decide that yes, I can put fictional variants of lichen and bamboo in the Amber Forest. Also made a note to look up army ant behaviour for one of the magical creatures.

Day 21

Figured out how those magical creatures work and also what sort of plants and animals I might put around them.

Day 22

Didn't work for 23 minutes today but I did come up with some significant details about the main human society that appears in this story.

Day 26

Somewhat finished the Dark Forest except for one little quibble and some older notes to sort through. Decided most things about the lake except for what lifeforms live in it.
