We want users to feel safe knowing that any details of a report they make are private and will not be shared outside of moderator forums. Whenever reports are made, they are taken very seriously by the moderating team, and are always investigated thoroughly prior to action being taken. Hey there! How have you been doing?

RandomTalks As bad as I could be, I guess. I completely butchered my last exam and it seems like I am on the way to do the same with my next exam. How about you? You still have one left right?

ForeverYoung299 That's honestly very sad. You know, the exact same thing has been happening with me since my maths exam. Yeah, I still have one left and I don't even feel like opening my book...

  • I slept less than 1.5 hours yesterday, had at least six mini meltdowns, nearly threw up three times and studied every waking moment of the day for my exam - only to make the silliest, most idiotic mistakes any person could have ever made on this Earth.

Announcing 2023’s first Gen Lit Clinic!

What is Gen Lit Clinic? Gen Lit Clinic is a pad discussion where everyone brings a question or two related to the topic of the month. This month, that is story arcs.

The term ‘story arc’ can be used in a variety of ways, but for simplicity we’re going to take it in a very broad form. A story arc is basically the progression of your narrative across your short story, book or perhaps script. If you have a question about what kind of story arc you’re shaping, how to make it engaging, or what to do about conflict, ask it below!

An example question: how do you write an engaging redemption arc?

Gen Lit Clinic will happen on this date/time:

The pad link will be posted in the People’s Tab, so stay tuned for that!

  • Here in the spirit of #ThankaReviewer for #SocialMonth ! You've given me suuuper helpful reviews on many of my stories and scripts, and I appreciate them so much! I've especially been going back to your reviews on my Lady Alberta story; I've been thinking about writing another story starring her, and your comments on the descriptions and pacing are very useful to keep in mind as I write! So once again, thank you so much ^-^

RandomTalks Thank you so much! That means a lot to me!

    FEBRUARY 28
    WEEK 4

We hope you've had a wonderful Social Month this year!

For one of our final events, we want to say a big thank you to those that do some amazing work on YWS. Have you ever received a review that made you go ooh with a new idea, or that brought some super-helpful tips or a fresh perspective? Is there a reviewer who's been keeping up with all your chapters that you want to shout a million thank-yous to? Well, today you're encouraged to do exactly that! (Okay, perhaps not exactly-- a million is a lot-- but you get the idea)

Your challenge is to write a thank-you note to a reviewer you appreciate!

That reviewer can be someone who's reviewed one of your works, or someone you've seen around the site that you'd like to thank! You can even try writing a thank-you note from the point of view of one of your characters! It's up to you how you'd like to write your thank-you note(s), but be sure to give yws's amazing reviewers all the respect and appreciation they deserve! :D
