I Am Totally a Real-Life Wizard (Not Clickbait, I Swear!)

Vendetta giggled. "Neither do I. I don't know a single person who like Guy."

Valeri faked looking shocked. "Wow, and that coming from such a nice person like Vendetta... you know Guy's unlikeable-ness is serious."

The line shuffled forward until the V siblings and Amy were almost at the counter.

"Alright!" Vendetta pulled out their wallet. "What are we getting?"

Valeri looked up at the menu behind the counter thoughtfully. "I'll have that fruit tea with lychee jelly. Should we get some chips too?"

From Valeri's purse, there was a whispered, "Yes! Chips!"

“Dawn, you can’t eat chips.” Vendetta shook their head fondly. “So you don’t get a vote.”

The sword was silent, but Valeri was sure she could feel it sulking. They laughed. “Alright, Dawn, chips it is. You want anything, Vendetta, Amy?”

“I’ll just get chips too.” Vendetta narrowed their eyes at the menu. “Yeah, just chips.”

Amy gasped. “They have confetti cake pops here!”

Valeri looked suspiciously at Amy, then at the cake pops. "Do your powers extend to setting confetti cake pops on fire?"

Amy shook her head, giggling. “No, silly! It has to be my confetti. Why would I want to set my food on fire?”

“What do you mean by your confetti?”

"Confetti made by me!" Amy giggled. "Confetti made by other people aren't special like mine."

Valeri raised an eyebrow and nodded. "Alright then... if you're not going to set that cake pop on fire..." Valeri put the chips on the counter and placed her drink order, then asked for a cake pop as well.

Within a few seconds, they had paid and made their way to a table. Vendetta sat down with a small smile. “Okay! This is nice.”

Valeri settled into their chair and crossed their legs. "Ahh... yes." She groaned. "I can't wait for all this Joe stuff to be over. Then we can take a relaxing vacation and hang out at cafes and not have to worry about sketchy wizards." There was a sympathetic hum from her purse.

“Imagine how Cody and Khalil feel.” Vendetta shook their head. “I wonder if Cody‘s going to restart his company.”

Amy shrugged.

Valeri took a sip from her drink as she listened the hubbub of other customers around her for a moment. They frowned. "We've got to expose Joe and make sure everyone knows, beyond a doubt, that Cody's innocent."

"We will." Vedetta loudly crunched a chip. "I know we will."

Amy grinned. "Love the confidence. That'll make Joe mad."
