I'm not sure if I've got everything here @_@. Honestly there was so much going on this year, I feel like I'm definitely forgetting some big things whoops. Overall, though, I'm pretty happy with how I've progressed in terms of writing and socialising. I definitely would never have been able to talk to this many people this often last year.

YWS Memories
- I really loved NaPo in general, but one of my favourite parts was when @alliyah combined everyone's thread titles into one poem.
- @soundofmind wrote some wonderful songs! I still have 'nullify you' stuck in my head.
- I absolutely adored the positive messages @starlitmind was sending out throughout the year.
- @Arcticus and his name dreams meme definitely made an interesting time.
- I started painting/drawing digitally for fun again after quite a few years of not touching my tablet + stylus. Also, I uploaded some of said art pieces on Some Things Liminality Drew. Sharing my art is likewise something I've not done in a long time, so it's a pretty big deal for me to have started again this year.
- One YWS event I really liked was the RevMo review workshop. I felt I learnt so much, and teaching via highlighting the positives is a review principle that I still hold and will continue to hold.
- I started writing more statuses for the wall. they shouldn't have let me discover the tanka shh
- I bribed incentivised some posts for the worst poem thread.
- Speaking of that thread, I also combined a bunch of my own 'worst poems' into a longer 'not-so-bad' poem: profile.php?u=59293&c=1402592
- I discovered what the YWS outbox is.


Writing - on YWS and beyond
- I tried NaPo for the first time, with the theme Language and the Human Race. One of the interesting things I remember doing was rewriting the first poem I put up on YWS.
- I also joined NaNo for the first time and wrote about 30,000 words for [NaNo 2020] The Land After Miscreants (working title). It was great fun and really got me into the habit of joining in on WFPs.
- Overall, I wrote loads of poetry this year! On my WordPress blog, I had several months where I wrote one or more poems a day (though alas, that chain was broken once uni started in September). I mostly wrote free verse with a strong focus on imagery.
- I experimented with short stories in a variety of genres.
- I submitted my pieces to publications here and there. I was really happy to get the chance to work with the editors at one of them on a short story I submitted. I also had some of my poetry published on an online magazine.

I can’t believe I’ve only been on here for a little over three months. This website already means so much to me, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this amazing community. As of the time I’m writing this, I’ve been part of YWS for 101 days. That’s a lovely number, but I know I’ll be around for much longer.

There’s something really special about here. Maybe it’s the funny spam I see all the time on the People tab. Maybe it’s the magic of the storybook and roleplaying forums, where writers collaborate beautifully to bring their stories to life together. Or maybe it’s the chats going on night and day in the WFPs, connecting lives and bringing smiles to faces. Whatever it is— I love it, and I always will.

WRITING AND REVIEWING

When I first got here, I did about three reviews a day for a bit over a week, earning my first two stars within seven days. Soon after that, I decided that was enough for a while, and took a break. I’m planning to start reviewing more in 2021!

I have not yet published any of my works, but I am planning a novel that I got started on in November for NaNoWriMo! It’s called The Nightmare We Became, and I’m very excited to see where it’ll go. If anyone’s curious to read it, just let me know! I’m thinking about posting chapters soon. I also write poetry every now and then, and some of those will get published in the future.

Most of my work here is in roleplaying, and I’m also in a storybook. The reason I joined YWS was for the continuation of a roleplay created by @Vil that is part of a saga of other roleplays, and the story has been in progress for years! Daybreak started long before it came to YWS, but we’ve decided it’s here to stay. If I Had A Heart by @RavenLord has also been a great story that I’m glad to be a part of! The storybook I recently joined is @Magebird's The Bard’s Concerto, and I’m very excited for it to start.

MEMORIES*

This list is by no means complete, but here are some great moments I will always treasure!

• That time I nearly got into a war with @Carina, @Euphoria8 and @HarryHardy over ComicSans font.
• The Burning Sock Puppets, and how it came to be.
• Every single pad party I’ve been to!
• When @starlitmind lost her potato and we had to go on an epic quest.
• I still don’t understand #classified. Help.
• Putting together my sound collage project to make songs for some friends on here! That was so much fun.
• Does Daybreak have a stalker, or a secret fandom? Because @Vil once saw our characters’ names being used by a player in a game. Not going to lie, that was weird.
• There was a day when I spent hours working with @Stringbean to create a new poison for nearly killing a beloved character, and I felt so evil but also so proud. Muahahahaha.
• Cursed chai. Enough said.
• Among Us games with friends. Oh, those were the best…
• Discovering @soundofmind’s music!
• I'll never forget that time @starlitmind, @Euphoria8 and @Vil were fruit in a very confusing love story.
• I found Arc’s snow leopard, did I mention that?

REVIEW STUFF
- I joined in June, and jumped right into the chaos, writing my first review on @Thisislegacy 's Boring, and getting my first review star 5 days after that!
- #RevMo was 2 days after that, and I wrote 20 reviews, getting a medium slate blue username! RevMo was so much fun!
- I started my journey to be a KotGR on September 11, and completed it on September 26th. I claimed my sword on October 18th, and my shield on December 7th!

CLUB STUFF
- I started my first club, the Avatar the Last Airbender Fanclub, on August 30th, and it currently has... *checks* *weeps* only 10 subscribers.
- Then I became part of the wonderful Newbies Club, started by the wonderful @Soccer23!! We welcome new members, answer questions, and make friends!!
- AND THENN I was voted to be admin for the Drawing and Art Club, started by my friend @FlamingPhoenix! We make art challenges together, and hang out and have fun!

LIFE EVENTS

• Added another blue star to my collection.
• Graduated sophomore year of high school with all A's!
• Am on track to finish up my first semester of junior year with all A's, including in two AP classes. I'm also taking an extra class this year, as well as all-honors courses. It's been a tough semester and I'm proud of myself for maintaining this course!
• Earned my first promotion at my part-time job. In August, my training manager told me she hoped to make me one of her trainers soon. In November, I earned the first promotion on that journey, complete with a new uniform and new nametag. I've built some amazing relationships with some of my managers and other leaders at my work who have helped develop my leadership abilities and invested in me. I'll forever be grateful for that.
• Bought my first car! It's been faithful and loyal to me so far, and I'm proud of the price that I negotiated for it. Hopefully it continues to take me far!
• Bought a 3D printer with the hopes for using it to start a nonprofit focused on helping people with disabilities through small innovations. It's been a difficult but rewarding journey, and I'm hopeful that 2021 is going to bring even more advancements!

A spot for me!!

I was going to mull this over a little more but now I think I'll just contribute the fact that not only did both me and Wolfi change our usernames at almost the exact same time, but we both shortened our older usernames AND it was done by two different Global Moderators. A day to remember, I think

2020 is the year I was introduced to this beautiful place which has been an escape for me from my stressful life. I got into the habit of writing and expressing myself in front of others.

Becoming FM, completing Team Tortoise twice and getting 4 review stars by the end of 2020, engaging in so many fun activities on here and having loads of fun with so many stupendous users were indeed some of the most joyful moments for me this year. I am not sure if I'll be active so much in the coming years but surely 2020 was the year when YWS was a big part of my daily life.

This is the one things that kept me going on throughout the lockdown and it would have been impossible without all these wonderful souls on YWS <3 I know I did not have much interaction with most of them directly but still you guys had a huge role in making me feel like I'm a part of this.

@Liebensteiner I guess you have already been tagged by many who all share the same feeling as me that you are the most positive presence on YWS. You have been very kind to each one and never failed to amuse us with your posts.<3
@Magebird I know I haven't interacted directly much with you but I always see you as a very dedicated and organised writer. I hope I'll get some of your good traits in me one day. Your presence on YWS is highly appreciated. <3
@alliyah Thanks for starting that exciting Chicken movement, we all witnessed some amazing poetry during this time. You are a very kind person and an amazing poet. Poetry Queen of YWS

2020 is a year I will never forget. I'm not even trying to sound sappy or anything; like, how am I supposed to forget that there's a pandemic and a crazy presidential election and wildfires and protests? But amidst the craziness, I have reappeared in YWS, and I'm so glad I did. It has been a complete blast being involved again in the community this year. Here is to so many more years of happiness, friendships, & good health. <3

So much more happened in 2019 than 2020 (think: graduation, new job, relocation, traveling, new friends), but there's still a good amount that happened this year!

• I changed to the modeling (from experimental) work group in my lab! It's definitely more aligned with my interests.
• I got accepted into grad school! (Although, I've decided to defer my admission to Fall 2021.)
• I came back to YWS! YWS highlights are detailed below, but it has been a big part of my life these past few months, I just had to have another bullet point highlighting this. :)
• Despite relocating to a far away state and having to cancel travel plans due to the pandemic, I'm so grateful that I have wonderful friends who still keep in touch.
• I improved my dancing by a lot. I feel so much more confident dancing with strangers.
• I decided to get serious with exercise! I say, as I took the entire month of December off lol
• OH!! I got a new kitty, Moon! Now my other cat, Toast, won't be so lonely.
• Probably goes without saying at this point, but me and my boyfriend are still doing wonderful together. :')

Now on to highlights from the site:

• I... REGREENED?!? And I haven't regreened since 2014?! Crazy.
• I rekindled my love for roleplaying, and it has been an absolute blast.
• I reconnected with a bunch of old users and have strengthened some awesome old friendships. But I also made plenty of new friends with new users as well!
• Pad culture has been amazing. It's fun to pop in for some writing, only to stay for the chatter.
• I met up with @veeren again, for the second time! Here is quite possibly the best photoshoot I have ever taken.
• CHAOS!! Am I citing a particularly instance? Nope, but it's been fun to create random chaos in the site.

And now, the most important part of yearbooks: shoutouts! There were sooo many people I wanted to mention... so here it is in alphabetical order. :)

@Elinor: AHH ELLIE I'm glad we got to bond over roleplaying and life in general. It's been fun talking to you and screaming about roleplays. I admire your dedication and determination to put your work to reality, and I can't wait to see what other movies you come out with in the future. <3

LUCKY ME asdfjhsdk like, you are such a joy in my life and uhh I'm pretty sure that whenever I hear a Discord notif, I'm thinking it's from you screaming or replying to our wonderful roleplay. so congrats, u have trained me like a dog lol. I can't decide whether I am thrilled or concerned that we're insane enough people to binge roleplay 40+ pages in a month and somehow come up with a perfect story, but either way, I can't wait for 2021's chaotic conversations and roleplaying/friendship adventures!
