omg. your sketches and characters look amazing, Raven!! :0 the lines and gradients are so smooth aaaaaaa. and also the details and shading of the cup on the column !!
@RavenAkuma how do you like Procreate? Currently I just use Sketchbook but I am considering getting another digital app. Do you like it? How is it compared to other apps, if you have used others?
Ps: these are so amazing and I love seeing these!!
Who's to say that my light is better than your darkness? Who's to say death is better than your darkness? Who am I to say?
Thus far, I'll be honest; I haven't been able to explore a lot of alternative apps, and I am limited to iPad and Apple Pencil only. From what I remember, ProCreate costs a bit more (I think it was 10, maybe 12 dollars USD last I checked??) but I love it! It's pretty easy to pick up, you get a huge array of tools by default, a range of share and download options, and you can customize brushes, canvas sizes, etc.
The only cons I can think of are that sometimes, it's hard to get a smooth line?? Like, a lot of strokes can look a bit pixel-ey, and it gets worse when you zoom in. Sometimes it even gets mistaken for "noise" which means some drawings can get flagged for AI by the less accurate checkers. The app is also a hardcore drain on your memory space and battery, especially if you decide to keep the "record your progress" feature on. Like, I've used my tablet pretty much exclusively for ProCreate over a course of maybe six years?? And it's stunted the battery so bad that now when I plug in the tablet to charge, if I start using the app, the battery still goes down O.O But that could also be an equipment issue --I'm willing to bet newer models handle it way better.
Edit; oh, and the gradient tools! One of my friends who does digital art on her PC remarked on it when we swapped devices for fun. Apparently, it's normal to have a gradient tool, but Procreate does not. So gradient has to be drawn manually (the blur, smudge, and soft brush tools are your best alternatives)
That's about all can say about it. Hope this was helpful!!

Long time no see, anyone who follows this art thread!
I’ve been experimenting with other tools, styles, etc…and not finishing projects lol. So I got a couple that are gonna break the pattern here.
To start, here are the custom eeveeloutions I drew. Tbh, I know it’s not the most original idea for fanart, especially in the pokemon space, but I was feeling nostalgic and wanted a little break from the more intricate characters I’ve been working on (coming soon-ish! lol)
Before diving in, I want to clarify: yes, the pokemon I drew use the original eeveeloutions as a model, specifically the sprites you see below. I was just doing this for fun, and I’m not so good with animals yet, so I used them as a reference point and…reinvented them, I guess, lol. I also styled these guys with their own pokedex entries, and yes, they all have the same height, weight, and gender ratio because I accidentally rasterized the text layers too early and didn’t want to re-edit nine pages lol…But to be fair, all eeveeloutions are similar in size, and roughly 80-20 in the gender ratio. So, that said…I’ll let the entries speak for themselves here
Which of these eeveeloutions would you want on your team, if any? ^^

My other alternative-style piece! I was going for a more painted, Tim Burton-esque, doll-like vibe here (also took some inspo from Hollow Knight), so it’s very different from my standard characters. For that reason, sorry if the quality isn’t up to par ‘:D
You can probably guess the theme from the characters and names alone, but those who’ve known me a while will be even less surprised lol
*Listing names from left to right, in case they’re too blurry to read: Ratón Pendul, Fortuna Chianti, Mordere Bernice, Pluton Féles, Ravena Media-Nocte, Annabel Leetra, Gélu Oculi, Ruby Prospero, Rodelíne Usher, Lenora Paean
I honestly made these guys on a whim, with only the faintest idea of a potential storyline or world they could belong to…I’m open to hearing any ideas of what to do with them!

Honestly, I could see these guys in a gothic romance story, maybe you could even put them in your Delirium storyline! If not, then just like a gothic romance story with a possibly corrupt circus involved.
This art definitely gives off Tim Burton and Creepypasta vibes.
There’s a little bit of Halloween in all of us…

I was once known as Vampricone6783…but now, I hath changed into what I represent best.
Background practice! And yes, ngl, I did rely on a lot of ProCreate "cheater" tools (e.g, the wildgrass brush, flare, cloud brush, etc...)
A simple moon:
Taking it up a notch with some planets. Not perfect...but I kinda liked it.
Technically, this is just a banner I was gonna use for the Elden Ring fanfics I had planned, but I scrapped it at last minute because it felt too...I don't even know, but it didn't fit the theme XD But I liked the colors and the leaves came out well, so I salvaged it.
I definitely took WAY too big of a leap, trying a forest heh...I regret this it's so bad XD
Dialing it back, I went back to the moon, then tried a little cliff with a pretty branch. Better! I know the grass is a bit teal, and the sky kinda purple—yeah, the colors are a bit off, but...I dunno, it's kinda unique?? Am I crazy?
Took another leap, and this one was much better!! Yay, snow!
*and then I also finally finished this after it was sitting in my folders forever. Technically it's character art, but as you can see, it was the perfect place to try a water theme ~ I cropped out most of the character because it's [REDACTED]-related and I don't want to show him off juuust yet...But I did leave the tail because it fit too good
