seekerswhoarelovers

my love for you is traced along
the borders of east nowhere
pennsylvania
lingering in the middle
of me being verdant
& withering

your chest is
shangri-la (i cry when i think about it)
i want to break into you & live inside
the coating of your skin
like an apparition, you were never even there

Fox your poems always have such a strong confident sense of voice! Love the unexpected contrast of "verdant & withering" here and the sense of both place and place-lessness. Hope to keep following along, I always enjoy your poetry!
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

youteartheworldintwo

i would become the moon
to relive those cyan minutes
where you loved me
wholeheartedly

you unwind time
like poetry, leaving traces of your
idiosyncrasies from all the seasons
inside the seams
of your pillows

i want to find you
on the verge
of complete absolution

you ask me why the
silken birds fell into the night
when i let you
touch me
like an apparition, you were never even there

Spoiler
foxtails!!

There’s a vulnerability here that’s both reverent and devastating!! Like, the emotional palette drifts between yearning and surrender, and I love how the geography of love (East Nowhere / Shangri-La / the moon) becomes both metaphor and map. Beautiful!!

i want to find you
on the verge
of complete absolution

ESPECIALLY this stanza!!

Ooooooh! That last poem is so interesting and imagery-full; I always enjoy your unique phrasing foxtails!

<3 the way that you tip-toe to the heartaching part in the first stanza creates a sort of anticipation for the rest of the poem. Nicely written! Looking forward to reading more!
