12. Quiet Space

Spot me in crowded places, cornered rooms with
busy people, foul breaths and alone
Watching awkward conversations with my eyes
while my mind wanders off to someplace safe
You’ll find me there in a corner, while I’m in some quiet space
in my mind, cold water streams, books floating in
Soft frontiers, coloured walls, and silent sounds that spin
I’ll be sweeping fatigue away, brushing past those common days
Mingling voices left lingering outside the door, forced smiles that adorn the floors, thus
If you spot me in huddled masses, I’ll be wandering down the corridors of something safe
Thinking of a quiet space

i love a good checklist
That i can stare at
Like a colourful decor on my desk
After 2 TV hours too long, i confess
Mindlessly scrolling, a mental mess,
On pages of intrigue on YWS
Then follows a good 45 minutes,
Where i have life choices to address

Attitude can be served on a clean silver plate
You may receive a sculpted snowman of mashed potato
But take heed of the server from whom you take your fate
Lest your dish be a battlefield of chillies and a smashed tomato

15. Tidy Endings



Sculpt a tale about icemen and dragons
Lively places and fire dungeons
Let the villain be a entity of darkness
Or the prince a toad of prettiness
But in the end, do keep things tidy, for
It would be a shame to see the royal his
Head splattered across the page
Due to his lack of vision that the princess
Might as well be perfectly capable of walking
Out of the burning fire herself

16. tomorrow's fear



They say do the worst and best you can today,
And fear tomorrow, for it may not appear
From what I have tasted of desire,
Leads me to heed their words

But blame it on my human heart, so eager to care,
That I glanced behind to the fear of tomorrow
Sitting lonely beneath the blossoming cherry tree
Filled the empty seat beside it

Sitting terrified together
With hope in my beating heart
Beside a heart of fear
That the roses blooming under our feet
Would see the colours of the morning sky

Being naive enough to care
I sat still, contemplating the time that passed by
Wondering, ever so foolishly, if tomorrow was on its way

Envy those
who speak their truth
Without worrying about what they litter
But stick close
to those who do not, too
For then you’ll truly learn of life’s bitterness

i can feel the warmth in my bones already
Like chili flames on my tongue, and
Burning tiles on the rooftops
For t’s almost as if i can imagine the prickly spices
Under cool market tents
Filling the air with something peculiar
Hanging around the horizon
A vague scent of summer

19. writer in disguise



i like to think i can rhyme like water
That glides over smooth glass
flawless pirouettes of ballerinas
wrapped in cold calming silk

feeling and seeing things of a
kind that look like sea creatures
of emotion, though i can sit and think i want
to think i feel as a mer in a wild wave
as i pull over my glamour of my poetic-self

i’m a person, no other being than one with a
Sword, in my vivid thoughts, that slice through
parts that create a once-upon-a-
long-lost-time, a tale-sculptor, still i cannot know
what it takes to be a poetic-being for then
i am afraid i’ll be all alone with theories
That do not fit in novels and do not possess
imagery enough for poetry

so i’ll say i’m a poet
one with ideas and thoughts
feeling as if i’m feeling (no,
really, i’ll be feeling) thinking i’ll be thinking
that i’m a poet (no, i’ll believe i am), but
truth as blind and rough
i’m (just) a writer in disguise

20. Salt and Pepper



Don’t separate a man with his beating heart
Or a lover with his soulmate, so full of fate
Leave just the day for these roses before they wither away
Do not take away the fork from next to the knife
Nor place the brink of day between the moon and sun
That for, I beg of you, o cruel little life so sweet
Do not to separate me from my books
For that is where I find my dreams
We’re like salt and pepper, making the table complete
So if you walk in front of me, tread carefully, please, for
I have sprawled open my books and heart in front of you
