What They Call Us

Gemini Lazarus

"Hey! Get you're grubby little hands off me!" I yell as I struggle against the guards.

Were brought into another room as the guards hold my arms and I can feel the rubber gloves they have on, so it was useless in trying to use my powers against them. After struggling for what feels like a half an hour Sooth snaps his finger. The guards let go of everyone but me and I knew instantly I knew I was in trouble for. Frying one of Sooth's stupid shadows.

"If you wanted our acquaintance, you could have just asked," Ronan hissed.

"Yea, and you should tell these guards of you'res to let me go! So I can shove a foot up you're-"

"Please Ms. Lazarus no need to be rude now." He interuppt's me.

Kei

When we were brought into the room with Sooth, I hyperventilated more. For the first time, he's heart felt cold. The blood in him seemed normal, but near the heart it was freezing.

"If you wanted our acquaintance, you could have just asked," Ronan hissed.

"Yea, and you should tell these guards of you'res to let me go! So I can shove a foot up you're-" Gemini started.

"Please Ms. Lazarus no need to be rude now." Sooth says interrupting Gemini.

I saw Ronan looking at me when his face got blurry.

"Ro-," I started to say when I passed out, my bunny clattering to the flood, the zipper undone and my dagger sliding on the floor. My head fell forward limply.

Ronan

Gemini lashes out at him as well, but he gives no clues as to why he'd taken us. I glance at Kei, sensing something wrong, and swallow, breaking free of the guard and catching him as he passes out. His grip releases his bunny, a dagger sliding out of its back, and I am quick to retrieve both, the dagger's hilt burning my palm. Setting them back with each other and in Kei's limp arms, I glance around and wonder if anyone else noticed the weaponry.

Why didn't you tell me...

I cradle him in my arms, very well aware of each pair of eyes on us, and gently tap two fingers against the side of his face in hopes of waking him.

"Kei?" I call worriedly. "Kei, breathe. Wake up."

Kei

Someone was shaking me. I moved a little but gasped with pain.

"Kei, breathe. Wake up." Ronan's voice drifted towards me.

I opened my eyes to see I was floating in my sub-conscious. I screamed for Ronan and felt more shaking. Everything started to turn blood red and I started shivering as the temperature began to plummet. I blinked and noticed I was inside a bloodstream.

I shook remembering the first time this happened, when I entered Ronan. I tried to wake up, but couldn't. My mind drifted through the bloodstream and I gave up and went with it. The farther we went, the colder it got. Then I remembered this feeling. I was inside Sooth's blood.

When the bloodstream took me to Sooth's heart, I started to chip away. It had to of been way below zero. the blood in me was even freezing. The last time this happened, I changed and started midnight training. There was a chance I would become like Sooth. I started crying when something slapped me hard. I blinked seeing Ronan's stone hard face.

"Kei, why are your eyes red? Did that happen again?" he asked me. I nodded weakly.

Ronan

I feel him fading, shivering in my arms, and the worry overwhelms me.

"Kei?" I call again, shaking him. "Kei, please."

He starts crying and I slap him without thinking, freezing as I look at him. His eyes open, staring back at me, and I bring my hand to where I'd hit him. I try to rub the mark away, apologizing in a whisper.

"D-don't do that again," I whisper, hugging him.

I check my notebook for calculations. Perhaps it would take less energy for me to draw oxygen into my lungs than to gasp for it. No such luck. I get up and stagger away from the tree. I had run through the night and my legs are unsteady under me. And there is always that silent threat: as I am slowing down, somebody is surely catching up. I finally give in and fall flat on my face. Scabs crack and my blood starts to oxidise. Maybe if I had transformed a quarter of an inch less... Then I hear the voices. Voices in front of me in the distance. In the distance, yes, but not too far to walk if I use my strength of will. I grit my teeth and get to my feet, sway for a few seconds, then take my first step towards the voices. I would get there.

Sooth

I staggered back as I felt the boy's power. He had tried to influence me, perhaps kill me. He was much more powerful than expected. I had to have him as my own or kill him.
"Let's cut to the chase," I said, grimly. I nodded to one of my guards, and they knocked Gemini out cold. They held a gun to her head.
"Kei. Trying to kill me is very rude. Very rude indeed," I continued. "This brings me no pleasure... but you force me. Don't play when you have no cards in your hand."
"W-what d-do you want?" Kei stuttered, paling. Ronan clutched him protectively.
"Simple," I replied, smiling. "Cooperate. Work with me, behave, play nice, sort of thing. If you don't, I kill your friends, starting from Gemini. Then Ronan, and so on"

Gemini Lazarus

I felt a slam in the back of my head, I was dropped to the floor by the guards. I had a soaring headache and not the good kind either, I was barely concesious of what Sooth had said, I knew Sooth was bad news and this was only proving myself further. I tried my bet to conjurer up some lightning only to have it disappear, my mind fell under only to have it soon awakened by a shaking at my side. I opened my eyes slightly to see Ronan, he looked worried and anxious to get on out of here, and I understood why. I get to my hands and knees only to get kicked at my side by one of the guards.

"Son of a bitch" I mutter in a low voice holding my torso.

Solstice

The guards hurts in on our quiet donna party and dragged Gem, Kei and Ronan away. "Gem! Get away from her you freaks!"
Next to me, Lacie had grabbed onto another one of the guards and was using her powers to summon up a set of vines. I closed my eyes and concentrated, trying to visualize outer space, but the noise and little Kei's screams made it difficult to concentrate. All of a sudden, the noise stopped. I opened my eyes and looked around - they were gone.
"Fuck. I really have to get my concentration under control."
Lacie was lying a few feet away from me, a gash on her forehead and vines supporting her head. "Lacie. Lacie, wake up." I said, trying to shake her awake.

Lacie

I got knocked out, only hearing the sound of nature. Someone shakes me and I jump, opening my eyes slowly. "Lacie! Lacie! Wake up!" I hear Sol. I look at her. "I-I'm fine." I said. Ivy bites one of the guards and he falls to the ground from the poision. I flash a smile, vines wrapping around my rists.

Kei

I was crying after Sooth threatened us.

"I wasn't trying to kill you. I was pulled into your bloodstream against my will," I cried. Sooth was threatening to kill Ronan. If Sooth killed Ronan, I would be left alone. That thought made me cry more.

"Kei, please hush. I'm right here," Ronan told me hugging me. Sooth was looking at us with a smirk on his face.

Ronan

All the color drains from my face at Sooth's words, holding Kei closer.

"I wasn't trying to kill you. I was pulled into your bloodstream against my will," Kei cries.

I hug him, shushing him. "Kei, please hush. I'm right here."

I glance at Sooth and then Gemini as she holds her torso.

"We weren't doing anything," I tell Sooth, still looking at Gemini. "There's no need for threats."

Deep down, though, I know that there's no way in hell I'd work with that man after this...
