Welcome to your new home, Ross.

Two guards walked me down the hall, and i'd just finished talking to Sooth. As we walked, I listened to the guards talking.

"house....dad....killed....mom"

Tensing my jaw, I spun around, decking the guard on the left. "don't you dare talk about my parents you coward."

As I finished my sentence, the other guard tackledme. As I fought them off with my strength, more and more guards came. They really needed stronger guards.

A crowd gathered. Sooth came. Everyone froze.

Kei

The guards led us past a bunch of kids who looked dirty and stared at us like we were food. I tightened my grip on Ronan's hand who looked down at me reassuring. "I'm scared," I whispered.

"Don't worry Kei, I'll always be here," he told me. The guards led us into a building marked The Lounge. Inside, there was a commotion. Sooth was there standing above two guards and a large group. Under the guards was a kid.

Sooth looked at the guards and shook his head. The guards led us into a room and left us there. "I guess this is our room" Ronan told me.

Ronan

The guards lead us through crowds of pitiful people and Kei tightens his grip on my hand. I glance down at him and continue to follow the guards elsewhere.

"I'm scared," He whispers.

"Don't worry, Kei. I'll always be here," I tell him.

We head into the main tent, the end of a fight in the middle of it. A kid no older than I is on the ground, two guards standing above him and a crowd surrounding them all. Sooth joins the group and shakes his head as the guards take us to a room and leave us there.

"I guess this is our room," I say, looking around.

I sling my bag onto the larger cot and sit down, releasing my grip on Kei's hand. Sighing, I study him for a moment before standing. I drag the other cot across the room and attach it to the end of mine, not wanting to be too far from him. Patting the cot, I sit back down and watch as he sits.

"I don't want you to leave my sight, okay, Kei?" I lower my voice so no one else can hear. "I have a bad feeling about this place. Stick with me, alright?"

He nods. I flash a smile and bring my bag around, pulling out the last of our food.

"Hungry?"

Gemini Lazarus.

I kick the door into my room wanting to get some sleep only to see I have two room mates how unlucky of me, I plop down on my side of the room and kick my feet up to take off my shoes. I then look at the two who hadn't said anything.

"Ok here's the rules, first off done cross me if you don't want trouble. Second off what's mine is mine and whatever you take from my side I steal from you. And finally when I say shut up and stop the kid from whining that best be what happen's." I tell the two curling my finger's and creating lightning.

Hello everyone :) I'm taking sylverdawn's empty slot!

Name: Atarin Settler

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Power: Atarin can change the composition of solids, liquids and gasses. For example, he can draw oxygen and hydrogen gas from the atmosphere, concentrate them in one point, and use them to make an explosion. He can only use what already exists, though, so he can not change lead into gold. Gasses are the easiest, with liquids being harder and solids the hardest. The more complex the matter, the harder it is to manipulate, with organic molecules as the worst. He can suffocate his enemies in CO2, purify most water (only as long as he knows what's in it) and even heal wounds. The catch is that it requires a lot of concentration and a lot of energy. After healing a wound, Atarin usually has to sleep for about a day. If he needs to, he can make/break compounds, like CO2 to oxygen and carbon, but this drains his strength.

Appearance: Atarin has dark hair that flops over his forehead, steady brown eyes and a determined mouth. He is a medium size, maybe a bit taller, reasonably well built, but not very muscly. He wears loose khaki pants and a warm jacket, along with sturdy hiking boots.

Personality: Atarin is very understanding, ready to listen and help if he can. He is patient and calculating. But in battle he tends to desperately try to protect everyone, leading to exhaustion and frustration. Despite looking tough, he cannot take it when people get hurt or die. He is highly protective, and might irritate people who don't need protection. He gets furious when people do careless or unfeeling things, and will take on anything he doesn't feel to be right, to his detriment.

History: Atarin grew up in a middle-class family, had a normal life, until he took the drug and turned out like this. He lives with his family in the city, undercover, because his power is not too obvious. He has a younger sister whom he fiercely protects, and studies chemistry so as to better know the composition of matter and thus manipulate it better.

Other: He carries a notebook with the composition of different substances in it, a lighter (to use on manipulated gas) and a knife in his boot, which he knows how to use. He is certainly up for love, especially someone who needs protection.

Atarin

I blew another cloud of vapour into the dawn air and watched it diffuse lazily. Lizzy held my hand tightly.
"Why do I have to go to school so early?" she moaned. "I'm always the first person there."
"But you run around the track until they come." I shifted her school bag on my shoulder.
"But it's scary!"
"Do you want to walk alone?"
Lizzy pouted. She was eleven years old, and had a promising career as an athlete ahead of her. I oversaw her training, of course, just to make sure that she wasn't pushed too hard. A sharp sound echoed from the mist behind me. I spun, jerking Lizzy's arm.

"Ouch!" I took no notice. All my attention was focussed on the impenetrable mist. Dark shadows flickered in the depths. I stopped. Waited. There was a report, and a dart whizzed through the air and clattered against the wall beside me.
"Run! Run Lizzy!"
I pushed her away from me. I heard her sprinting down the street. I had to move. Dropping the bag, I fled. Booted feet sounded behind me. Another report. I fell, rolled and came up running. They must have missed. FDA. How did they find me? I tried to gather my wits and change the air, but another rifle fired, and the dart struck my shoulder. I ripped it out, stumbling. Clink. Another hit my arm. Voices, shouting. The dreaded lethargy muffled my mind. My extremities numbed. Footsteps, nearer. My cheek hit the pavement, without me having tripped. My fingers fumbled at the shaft of the dart.

Blackness overtook me.

Lacie

I hear all the violence outside and run out, seeing a poor boy fight off the guards until Sooth came. I swallowed, memories coming back to me. Ivy made his way along my arm and I tensed. Happenings from when I was three came back to me and I backed away.

Mom...Dad..

I looked away, gripping my fist and leaning against the wall. No one knew that if I got sad or mad nature started to die. Leaves rusted and flowers died at that moment, causing me less strength. I manned up, taking a deep breath.

Your strong, Lacie.

I kept my distance from everyone and sat against a tree.

Sooth

"Now now, kids," I said. "We don't want to be fighting ourselves. It does us no good."
Several of my guards broke up the fight as best they could. Me talking certainly helped. The sneaky thing was the poor children never suspected anything.
"I really don't like these scuffles." I decided to lay on the pressure. "Really. This time, you'll get off easily, but the next time I won't be so lenient."
The guards hurried the children back to the Lounge.
"Which one was the one that attacked Shadow?" I asked, out of the corner of my mouth, once they had gone.
"Kid by the name of Gemini," replied a guard, equally impassive. "Quite the little rebel."
"I need to have a little talk with Gemini. Bring him to me over dinner along with the others tonight. And if he acts up again, eliminate him. Nobody likes insubordination in an army. I plan on running the first combat practices later this week."
I turned and strode away. I had a a dinner to prepare.

Spoiler
LHeart, sorry if I messed up Gemini's gender. You guys, remember you have an 'appointment' with Sooth this night.

Kei

I gently sat my bunny down on my pillow. When Ronan turned his back to search his bag, I looked in the bunny's neck to make sure my dagger was still there. I closed it back up just as Ronan turned his head back.

"Hungry?" he asked me.

I nodded and shuffled to him, and accepted his offer of a piece of bread and jerky. There was enough for both of us. I quickly ate mine and smiled.

"Don't we have a meeting to go to?" I asked not clearly remembering what happened.

Ronan

"Don't we have a meeting to go to?" Kei asks, taking a piece of bread and jerky.

I nod and zip up the bag, saving the rest for later. Just then a girl with an attitude walks in and sits on a cot I hadn't seen before, blasting off conditions to staying with her.

"Wait, I thought we had the room to ourselves," I tell her.

She shakes her head and begins rambling off about how long she's been here and about how much she expects of us and hopes we don't do. It takes me a few moments to come up with a response, glancing at Kei and sending him a look of disbelief, which gains a smile out of him.

"I'm Ronan," I turn back to her and offer my hand. "This is my little brother, Kei. We prefer to stay out of people's ways, so you shouldn't have a problem."

Gemini Lazarus

I smiled to him happy to hear we came to an understanding between the two of us. He introduces himself as Ronan and his little brother Kei, I nodded only half hearing what other stuff he was saying. As I pulled out my bracelet from my pocket that I had to take off so the electical wires didn't hurt it in anyway, I read it for the I don't how many times now, and then looked at him.

"Uh, names Gemini, Gemini Lazarus. I'm not here with any family, cause I have no more family. There all gone." I told him.

"They're all gone," She finishes.

I swallow, glancing at Kei before looking down.

"Yeah, Kei and I are all that's left of ours," I say for no reason whatsoever.

Clearing my throat, I remember the dinner meeting and stand.

"So, yeah, that meeting... We should get going," I say.

I wait for Kei to stand and open the door, looking back at Gemini to see if she'll follow.

I remember we have the meeting thingy and I stand from the tree, walking inside. I get to where everyone else is and I sit, making Ivy stay under the table. I grow a flower on my palm and put it in my hair, looking back down at my snake who was hissing under the table.

Stay put, Ivy. This won't be long. Behave yourself.

He wraps around my ankle and I sigh, twiddling my thumbs.
