What They Call Us

Lacie

I smile as Kei takes Snow. "She'll protect you." I nodded. She lets out a purr-like sound. "That means she likes you. I'll teach you how to tell what she's saying to you but it might take some time." I chuckled, bringing Ivy back to my rist.

Arah-

I sit quietly on my bed for a long time before I hear a bunch of people walking outside my room. From the sounds of their conversations, it's dinner time.

I get up off my bed and walk out of my room, opening and closing the door with telekinesis, a habit that I've picked up.

I walk through a couple of hallways before I finaly get to the dining hall. It's packed wall to wall with kids and adults. All talking about being at the camp I assume. Many of them must have escaped from facilities.

I find the dinner line, and grab my food. I carry it to a table to the far left corner of the room. I sit down and eat quietly...

Ingrid

Roe and I walked to go get dinner, joined by the hands. As we progressed, I spotted someone i'd never seen before - a new person! Tugging on Roe's hand, I pointed at him.

"Roe, look"

"Ingrid," she scolded "I told you, it's not polite to point"

"I'm sorry. But look, he's new here!"

I quickened my step, speeding towards the boy with Roe behind me.

Once beside him, I slid my hamd into his and said "I'm Ingrid - i'm twelve. And this is Roe. What's your name?"

Ross

Food in hand, I looked around. Where should I sit? I spotted a group of people sitting together, and decided to head over there.

Sitting down, I looked at the people around me. Everything was silent. We were all just looking at each other.

And then, someone asked "What's your freak?"

A smile broke across my face, "Strength - just call me super man, eh?. How about you guys"

Lacie

I flashed a smile of the new guy that sat with us. "I'm Lacie and I control nature. As you can obviously tell..." I chuckled, putting Ivy wrapped around my upper arm again. I look at Gem, Sol, Kei and Ronan, waiting for them to answer too.

Gemini Lazarus

"Names Gemini Lazarus, I earned the nickname "Scourge of The Sky" because I brought down a few planes before coming here," I said curling my finger's making my black lightning.

"Yea I'm a real fear when it comes to flying around in the sky." I said dismissing the Black Lighting.

Atarin


Where am I? Definitely not at home. My body is pounding. One side of my face is pressed against a cold, hard surface. I feel metal on my wrists. I am caught? I replay the last few minutes I remember through my head. Lizzy running. The tranq dart. Damn. Now I must be in... some prison. Imprisoned. The word has a bitter sound to it.
I taste blood in my mouth and there is a hard crustiness on the side of my head. Could I possibly escape?

“It’s awake.”

Suddenly there is a commotion. My head rings as sounds swirl around me. I open my eyes slowly. My throat burns. I blink sleepily, trying to clear my blurred vision and make sense of what I see before me.
Bright lights. People clad in white coats.
I raise myself onto my elbows, hearing chains rattle. I am chained to a table. This is positively medieval.

My head starts to clear and I close my eyes. Relax. Slowly I work on the chains. Iron, oxygen. The new compound eats away at the bindings. I feel my strength draining, but continue.

"Have we ascertained the abilities of this test subject?"
"The results are coming in five minutes, sir."
"We cannot allow this one to escape. Especially since we could not get the girl. We have no control over it."

They didn't get Lizzy!
I almost lose control over the process for sheer relief. I terminate the reaction. I realise that I am still wearing my original clothes with a hint of satisfaction. I haven't been here long. The people move around me. Nobody has touched me yet. Quietly I force my wrists through the channels of rust in the cuffs, spilling powder over my clothes. Then I am up and running. People scatter before me as I hurtle out of the room. I see a barred window at the end of a corridor and close my eyes. Iron. Oxygen. I open my eyes just before I jump. I cannot waste energy on breaking down glass. I hit the bars. The rusted welding crumbles and I fly through the window. Glass rains down around me, but I roll and get up again, with only a few scratches. Then I run. I run as fast as I can.

Solstice

"What's your freak?" I asked.
A smile broke across his face as he replied, "Strength - just call me super man, eh. How about you guys?"

Lacie turned and replied to him, as did Gemini, and she looked to me, Ronan and Kei. I smiled, held out my hand and said,"I'm Solstice, but most people here call me Sol. I'm very imaginative, or so I'm told." I said, earning chuckles from Lacie and Gem. "I'm sorry, did I miss a joke?" he asked. Ronan and Kei looked confused as well, so Lacie smiled and explained. "Sol's power is imagination. It's sort of difficult to explain - which is the reason she doesn't bother doing it most of the time."

The boy nodded, smiling now. "I get it."
I looked back at him, smiled again and asked, "You never told us your name, Mr. Superman."

Barefoot, you runnin' from Sooth's lot? Or are these other guys?

Sooth

"It's time I had a little talk with those children," I muttered. Then I turned ti the platoon of two dozen guards, armed with tasers and semi-automatic machine guns, dressed in black body armor. Many of them were mutants, armed with a host of powers bent incapacitating or hindering.
"Bring me Kei, his brother Ronan, and the girl, Gemini. Unharmed. Kill them if they act up or try to escape. Tell them this. Fail, and, well... Hannibal is always hungry.

Rocky: Hannibal is the substitute super-minion. He eats people. Is that okay?

Kei

I looked at Ronan and was having a hard time breathing.

"Kei? Are you okay?" he asked me.

I shook my head. "Come on tell me!" he pleaded. I pointed at the door just as it was shoved open. Two dozen guards mrched in and I screamed. Ronan stood up, his hand in front of me. I gripped my bunny, my hand on the tiny zipper, noting that I would use it if I had to.

The guards looked around and then focused on us. The leader, pointed at me and I screamed again. Ronan stood in front of me, before remembering he left his handguns.

The guards came over and grabbed me, Ronan, and Gemini, and drug us out of the room as we kicked and screamed and fought.

Roe Pendragon

Ingrid took the hand of a new arrival. "I'm Ingrid - i'm twelve. And this is Roe. What's your name?"

"Sorry about that. She's very affectionate," I said, smiling at him. He was feeling happy enough. "You'll get used to it."

A door burst open and in marched a bunch of heavily armoured guards. I could sense no emotion from them. If I asked they'd probably say, "Just doing my job." A little boy screamed. The guards grabbed the child, the bigger boy with him, and a new girl, and dragged them out of the room. Others stood up to protest, and a few started moving away, so they wouldn't be taken next. I was bombarded with feelings of fear on all side.. Overwhelmed, I had to sit down on a nearby chair. I held my head in my hands. When everyone else's feelings had calmed down enough to allow room in my head for my own, I looked up at Ingrid and said, "This is strange. I've never known Sooth to use force without cause before. And certainly never on a child!"

Double I....just PM me before posting the fact that Sooth has an assistant thing that eats people. It would have been nice to know beforehand.

Nice name though. Very clever.

Ronan

Another kid is shown to the table and is in the process of introducing himself when Kei starts hyperventilating.

"Kei? Are you okay?" I ask in a whisper.

He shakes his head.

"Come on, tell me," I plead.

He points to the door just as it's busted open and I wonder which one of us really has the psychic abilities. Guards march in and he screams. I stand, setting a hand before him, and reach for my handguns as he screams again.

Dammit.

I remember I'd left them in my bag and push Kei all the way behind me, gripping his free hand. The guards grab us along with Gemini and drag us out of the room. I struggle to keep sight of Kei, who is kicking and screaming behind me, and imagine myself looking a lot like a wriggling fish in a net.

We're brought into another room, Sooth waiting with a smug smile, but aren't released. A guard keeps his fingers wrapped around my one arm while stilling Kei and Gemini. I glance at them, my eyes setting on my little brother, before looking back to Sooth.

"If you wanted our acquaintance, you could have just asked," I hiss, my adrenaline still pumping from the thought of separation from Kei.
