"We weren't doing anything," Ronan tells Sooth, still looking at Gemini. "There's no need for threats."
I was shaking terribly. I could already feel myself changing a little from being to close to Sooth's heart. Sooth looked at me, and something in me switched. I pushed Ronan away and ran toward Sooth, hiding behind him.
Spoiler
Going to go on and talk about Sooth taking Kei :3. So, he's basically being overrun by Sooth's power since he's weakened, and he thinks Sooth will protect him.

After the fiasco with the guards, I needed some air. "Eat your supper Ingrid," I said. Leaving her sitting at a table with her dinner plate, I grabbed my coat and slipped out the door.
I walked near the wall, close enough to feel the emotions of someone just on the other side. I hated how weak I was, always at the whim of whatever other people were feeling. I got around the edge of the dining hall, just as far as Sooth's office. There was an interesting mix of emotions coming from in there.
I paused to listen at the door and taste the emotions in the room. A couple of people were indifferent. I assumed these were guards. One was ticked off, two were scared, and one I had trouble decifering. I always had trouble detecting Sooth's emotions. Of the two scared people, I guessed one was the child. Children's emotions are far less complex than adults'.
I stayed a moment with my ear up against the door. "We weren't doing anything. There's no need for threats," I heard. All of a sudden, the grown-up afraid person was sad and confused. "Kei, w-what are you doing?" I caught a little bit of some sort of positive emotion coming from Sooth.
"Oh no," I said quietly. "You have to do something, Roe," I told myself. "Sooth just got a hold on that little kid. The poor kid. The poor big brother! But what am I supposed to do?" I sank down in the snow against the wall, trying to come up with a plan.

"Kei, w-what are you doing?" Ronan cried as he watched me go over to Sooth.
"Ronan, Sooth said he'll protect me," I said. Spoiler
Hallucination from Sooth's power
"Kei! Please, come back over here," pleaded Ronan. I shook my head and Sooth patted my head.
"I would like you two to leave," Sooth said. The guards nodded and dragged both Gemini and Ronan away.

I shake my head as the guards drag Gemini and I out of the room.
"Kei, no!" I shout, emotion burning behind my eyes. "Kei, what did I say?! Don't do this to me!"
They drop us outside and I stay on my knees, staring at the door. He doesn't come out. Gemini slings one of my arms around her shoulders and helps me up. Numb, I glance at her. Her friends come to her side and I try to compose myself, looking back at the door.
I feel like I lost him....just as I lost everyone else.

I'm never what I like I'm double sided And I just can't hide I kind of like it When I make you cry 'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up Inside
I finally come to the second I feel someones hand on me, I break away and get up on my own. I look to see Ronan in ruins and Kei behind Sooth, I exchange glances with Sooth and I know from then on I have to find a way to put Sooth down one way or another. I keep my power's from showing as I slowly walk out with Ronan looking like he break into tear's at any minute now. I walk slowly with him, my heart pounded my thought's raced with what I was going to do to Sooth. I put His arm around my shoulder and help him up after he falls to his knee's. Lacie and Sol see me I gave them an urgent nudge and they bolted up from the table and came straight to my side. And from here on was where my friendship with Ronan began.

I spot it. The camp. The perimeter of barbed wire is guarded by a host of large men. What is this place? I stagger up to the guards. Several surround me, looking threatening. "Please," I gasp, "please give me some water." "This camp is for mutants only," a guard snarls. "I am a mutant," I plead. Why are they wasting so much time? "Prove it." I groan and fall to my knees. The soil is dry and unyielding. But the air... Hydrogen, oxygen. I fumble for my lighter and click it to the air. A roaring snake of gas touches the air for a second before disappearing. The ground blurs before my eyes. More wasted energy. "I think we better take this one to Sooth," I hear. Without further ceremony, two men grab my arms and drag me into the camp.

"Well, Kei, your friends and your precious brother left you without that much complaint," I said. "That's not so protective of him, is it?" I knew I had to keep talking, even though my influence was still strong on him. Kei shook his head, tears pooling in his eyes. "He promised he would always stay by your side," I resumed. "H-he did..." Kei whispered, in a small voice. "Well, he didn't," I stated, triumphantly. "He left you, abandoned you, leaving you with me. But don't worry - I'll protect you, take care of you. Be the opposite of your traitorous brother" "Yes," said Kei. "Now, go to bed," I said. "The guards will show you to the luxury chambers." Not all that luxurious, to tell the truth - not compared to the suites I knew populated the earth outside this accursed camp, but certainly better than what this kid was used to. "Hannibal," I said, once he had gone, turning to face the hulking seven-foot brute that he was. "Bring me Lacie and her bitchy friends. I'll take no acting up from anyone." Hannibal nodded - he rarely spoke - and lumbered off, monstrous ax clasped decisively in one fist. Then I turned to another, far more sneaky, minion: Aurox, the telepath. "Monitor Gemini and Ronan. The kill order still stands."

Hah. Sooth is turning out to be a lot less nice that what I had originally intended.
Ivy slithered back up my arm and I smiled, thanking him. A saw a huge man coming my way.
"S-Sol...Who's that?" I ask, taking a step back.
"I don't know." She replies. "I have a bad feeling about him though, Lacie." She says, moving closer.
"I'll take care of it." I say, stepping foward and closing my eyes.
Nature bursts in, flowers with vines grabbed every guard including the huge man and tripped them, hooking onto their ankles and pulling them upside down and hanging them from the ceiling.
All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie-dust!
Guards burst in for a second time, beelining for Lacie, Sol, the kid who fought the guards, and the others. Without hesitation, Lacie whipped into action. Flowers, vines, leaves. They came from everywhere!!!
I ran through their memories, spotting the one with Sooth's most recent orders.
Just for the fun of it, not to mention our protection, I obliterated every memory of Sooth they had. They looked around, horrified, confused, lost. I couldn't help but giggle.
"Lacie, Sol, can you two handle those guys? I'm a bit tied up with Ronan here!" I asked quickly.
They nodded, and I didn't doubt since Sol must have taken out those guards. I moved quicker down the hall with Ronan, eventually hearing the fighting die out as we finally got into our room again. I opened the door with some work and placed Ronan down on his bed.
"God damn your heavy." I said taking a deep breath and dusting myself off.
I sat down on my own bed as Ronan cryied his tear's out. Sooner or later I have to get Kei back, how I don't know. But it looks like I'll be forced into starting something, I had to defeat Sooth at one point or another. How was just the question.
