I was so ubelievably... siked! This was so awesome! My adrenaline was pumping as hard as it was humanely possibly... but then again, I'm only 98% human...
Almost all of the mutants were out... I think. I've helped most of them... I need to get out of here!
I took off, waiting for the wind to rush past my wings. I had never flown before... I wondered how if felt.
There! The door! I ran until I reached it and felt the cold draft press against my skin, urging me forward.
There! I was out! I could see some figures in the sky. I unfurled my wings and pounded them. I lifted off like I was nothing but a feather.
I couldn't believe how wonderful the wind felt against my wings. Just be be up and in the air was amazing. To not feel like I was stuffed in a box made for an ant. I spun around, I felt like a little kid that had just been given a treat, I was FREE! Oh man did it feel amazing. I dipped down and then back up. The others better hurry or I was leaving without them. I stayed close to Rose to make sure she was ok, she seemed a little weak.
I met up with the experiments that had just flown out and asked them if they were all okay. They were shaken, but no one had any injuries.
They seemed to know each other, but me? I was the outsider. No one had any feelings towards me. So I had to wait. I bit my lip nervously. What if they hated me, and I wasn't welcomed into the new flock with them? A lot of people didn't like me because they thought I was too flawless, too perfect for them. I seemed strong, smart, I could fly, I had a sweet artificial eye (at least they thought it was sweet...), and I had good reflexes and I was precise. So physically, I might seem perfect.
But no one, no one knew me on the inside. I had been stuck, alone, in a cage all my life. This was really the first contact I had ever had with anyone besides whitecoats. So I didn't know what to do.
Physically, I seemed perfect... but I was so flawed. I was emotionally weak. And that's bad... I wondered if anyone could help me.
I took a breath, I wasn't angry that they had rescued me I was quiet grateful. I knew the white coats would soon find the others and I couldn't risk all of them getting caged up again. After becoming released I knew I had to make a distraction and fast if I wanted to make it out alive. I felt my eye color change from blue to purple when I was scared or frusterated. I jumped onto the table as I heard footsteps of the white coats. When they reached the door way I turned around and gave a smug grin.
"Sorry boys. Time to fly." I said jumping out of a window. Covering my face with both arms. My wings broke out and I soared to the ground. I fell flat on my face... they had done something to my wings? I turned to see glass in my wings and blood gushing down. I looked up into the sky as thunder clouds raced around screaming at the top of my lungs.

Then you are my star... ™
The scream stopped almost as soon as it had begun, Max had pulled me out of the sunlight, nodding in sympathy. I rubbed my eyes in expectance of blood. There was none.
“Go.” It was the first word I had spoken in a long time, to anyone but to myself that is.
Max looked ready to say something, but I shook my head, “Go.” She nodded and sped off to find her flock. Someone, a boy with blonde hair and pure white wings rushed past me. He didn’t notice me standing there as he rushed into the sunlight. As soon as he stepped outside the door, he unfurled his wings and sped into the sky.
By now, I couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down my face. My eyes burned, I closed my eyes.
I suddenly came up with an idea.
I closed my eyes and concentrated on looking thorough them. Just like…well, you can’t really call it normal…usual, I saw everything outside my eyelids.
I tentatively looked outside the door. The sunlight didn’t burn my eyes. Without hesitation, I ran outside and followed the boy. I was free.
"What are you doing?"

As Arro passed a window she stopped. Max? She was flying around with the others. Arro rolled her eyes, "Trust me to go on a wild goose chase." She began trying to find her way back and spotted the boy with the black eyes carrying a girl.
"Hey!" He didn't turn around. "Fine! Ignore me!" Arro ran to catch up with him.
As she reached him, he flicked one eye in her direction and once again decided to ignore her. So she ignored him.
Arro was thinking hard. She didn't know what to do. Max had been saved so she assumed the others had too. There was no real reason for her to stay anymore, but all the same....
She wasn't sure if she liked the idea of the outside world, you never knew how the humans would react to such a large number of winged beings.
The door came into view and she sighed. There wasn't enough time to decide.

Rose and Colt had just landed beside the boy. He looked nervous and was glancing from Colt to Rose, waiting for them to say something. Rose eyed him up closely trying to decide what type of person he was. She was interesting by the scar above his eye. Colt broke the silence.
"I'm Colt, this is Rose, nice to meet you." He said kindly.
Rose smiled as the boy looked down at her. He smiled back but still seemed a bit unsure.
"I'm ZT," He answered.
All three of them stood in a tense silence. Rose turned her hands over to inspect the damage. Black bruises were appearing down the side of her clenched fists. She sighed. Colt was staring up at the sky, waiting for the others to arrive. Rose looked back at ZT. He ran his hand over his forehead. Rose caught sight of his scar again.
"How did you get scar?" She blurted,"It looks interresting."
Before ZT could answer Colt gasped. Rose swung round to look to where he was pointing. A few, winged silohettes were coming towards them. Rose couldn't see how many there was the more the better.
"Finally, I wonder what took them so long" she exclaimed.
Colt and ZT frowned down at her then glanced back into the sky. Things were gradually looking more hopeful for the experiments.

My eyes were switched to see the air currents. The gold strands were moving around hectically, every direction at once. The must've meant there were a lot of people around, all with mixed emotions. I sighed and peered around the corner. Of course, with my luck, my face landed in the chest of a White Coat.
I stumbled backwards with a yelp of alarm.
"Well look here." the man said as he grinned and took out a taser, "I'll get promoted for catching a run away."
The air currents were rushing towards him, his intentions were clearly hostile. I didn't need the currents to tell me that; I braced myself and glared at him. The White Coat shot the taser at me. I attempted a dodge but the taser caught the edge of my wing. I screamed at the pain but cut it off. I ripped the taser from my wing and threw it to the ground. He discarded the taser and went for a small hand gun at his belt. He looked up to find me leaping out a window, soaring towards the sky.
I gave a quick 'yeehaw' that was promptly cut off by a few gunshots. I swiveled back and forth until I spotted a group of experiments. I waved and all three of them waved back. My eyes picked up an easy current and I moved over to it. My wing pained me a bit but I landed without much trouble. The three experiments on the ground ran to me.
"Mayze!"
I turned to see Nate land beside me. He ran up to me, smiling.
"Isn't it amazing?!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms and wings outward.
I laughed, "Indeed it is."
I looked back at the three experiments, "Hey." said the one with the scar.
I grinned, "I don't believe I've met any of you before."
They shook their heads. "I'm Colt." Colt said.
"Rose." introduced the girl.
"I'm ZT." said the scarred one. I decided I liked them, the scarred one especially.
Nate introduced himself quickly and looked up at the sky. A few more experiments had spotted us and were spiraling down to meet us.
I moved quickly, flying was as natural as breathing. Hard, but natural. I saw who knows how many mutants. I knew almost none of them, only recognizing Colt.
When I landed beside the others, they looked at me strangely; not unkindly, just differently. It might have something to do with my eyes being sealed shut.
“Hi, I’m Nate.” The blonde boy who had surged past me said.
“Stella.”
A girl with short brown hair and pretty blue eyes smiled, “Mayze”
“HI! I’m Rose!” a smaller girl with bright green eyes gave me a grin.
“ZT.” A boy with a scar above his eye said.
“Why’re your eyes closed?” Rose blurted. I couldn’t help smiling.
“The sun…” I started, and then stopped because I didn’t really understand it myself. “I can’t see with the sun out.” It seemed so weird to be talking like we hadn’t been poked and prodded our entire lives.

I looked at the new arrivals. Finally they talked to me. But did they like me? I couldn't really tell, but I hoped so.
"So, um..." I started, unsure of what to say.
They waited for me. "Sorry!" I finally blurted. "It's just that... I've never seen anyone before. Besides the whitecoats. I'm not really sure how to talk to people... to experiments. Umm... so, is this like a new flock?"
I really wanted to ask them if I could join with them. But there was no way that I could say that. So I just waited nervously.
I grinned, "You need to calm down, friend. We won't hurt you or anything."
ZT shifted his weight from side to side, "I knew that!" he said a bit too loud. He blushed.
I laughed, "As for the new flock, sure. I guess you could call us that." I looked at the rough band of run aways.
ZT glanced around too. He looked like we were going to eat him or something. I rolled my eyes and walked up to him. I draped my wing across his shoulder, "Seriously. We don't bite...unless biting is called upon then we might use biting."
ZT smiled a bit. I grinned, "So, anyone got any suggestions about what to do?"
Now that I knew they could be trusted--and, more importantly--they trusted me, I smiled slightly. Now I was feeling good about this. Mayze seemed nice. I liked her.
I hope I didn't blush right there....
Then I wondered how I knew her name--how I knew everyone's name! It seemed like... I was mentally connected to the new flock somehow.
I could feel trust, feel friendship among all of them... except one. Someone, far off... I wasn't quite sure who it was. Can anyone else feel that? I wondered. But among their feelings, most of all I felt fear.
And I heard whitecoats.
Now that I wasn't scared, I had to get out of here. But not without the new flock--my new friends. "Is everyone out of the building?" I asked. "'Cause we got to go!"
My head hurt my wings ached. I needed to find someone. I needed help I just lay limply on the ground feeling defeat. Glass had shattered into my arm and became a new addition to my wings. I started to walk around outside as if waiting for someone.
does anyone out there need help? Please respond
I knew every word I had just spoke into all the experiments minds would sap my strengh. I sank to my knees and tears came out of the ends of my eyes. I couldn't breathe for a second and began to fade in and out.
*I know it's short but I can't think of anything else... could someone find me?*

I saw someone lying on the ground outside a window. There wasn't any time, so I flew over and picked her up. Lexy... I knew. I flew back to where the others were, and Nate said that everyone was out.
"Then we gotta go, hurry!" I yelled.
The whitecoats were coming out.
"We need to do something with Lexy!" someone said. "She's hurt."
"Well," I said, "we're all going to be a lot worse than this if we don't get out of here!"
"Hey!" said Colt. "You're a little small to be carrying her... I'll take her." He gently pulled Lexy out of my hands.
I knew it was meant to be nice, but I couldn't help feeling insulting. I was strong enough to do that easily... even if I was the youngest here.
But I liked my freedom.
We all took off into the air...
I saw something in the distance.
"Erasers! Flying ones!" I yelled, as my eye automatically zoomed in. "And these are the newest versions!"
--
Colt was busy carrying Lexy, and everyone else stopped, so I flew forward, pumping my wings towards the erasers. I didn't care how dangerous it was, I wanted them dead--and I was extremely stupid. But luckily, I was lucky.
One of the erasers was leading the pack, so I curved over towards him. He carried a machine gun. Other erasers were pulling guns out.
The eraser started to turn the gun towards me, so I lashed out with my foot. The gun fell...
I dived and picked up the gun, then pumped my wings back upward.
"Mayze!" I yelled, then, blushing, I added the names of the rest of the new flock. "Get high, now! The erasers don't function as well when they're up high!"
Then, to protect the new flock, I sent a scythe of bullets towards the growing ranks of erasers. Then I waited.
