*i can get us to land right now*

Kei-

Kei glanced around nervously, it was too strange, the Erasers shouldn't have given up that easily. Slowing, she drifted back to fly level with Cody and Rose. Since it seemed like right now he was theunelected leader.

"Hey Cody. There's a town not too far North from here. We can land in the woods now and use the stars to navigate when night falls. Once we're in town we can catch a bus to a big city and lose them.

**It's Colt, :D **

Colt-

Colt nodded, "Alright, what do the others say." He looked around, "We all can sense different things, if one of us feels very uneasy about it it probably isn't a good idea. We need to be discret and safe." He said looking at everyone else.

*Yes!!! I was wanting to land in some woods too for some reason...*

(ZT)

"I say we land," I said. "It seems like we're fairly safe, and some of us need to slow down. Besides, I haven't really met anyone except Mayze...."

I couldn't help it, I blushed every time I said her name... and it was seriously ticking me off. I needed some frickin' self-control! (Not that I minded the feeling, though....)

"And also," I continued, "it's kind of hard to, y'know, go on with my arm...."

I blushed again, this time because of my damaged pride.

"Okay," Nate said, dropping back and taking leadership over "the guys", aka me and Colt. "I say we land, then. ZT's not the only injured."

(Rose)

Everyone began to land carefully in a small clearing in the woods. Colt sat Rose by a thick tree then went to organize plans with Nate. ZT was standing in the centre of the clearing, glancing around uncomfortably and clutching his arm. Mayze stood up and walked over to him. He blushed again as she tried to help him. Rose giggled. Colt and Nate looked over at her and frowned.
"Is she delarious?" Nate asked with a smile.
Colt shrugged and they went back to discussing ways to saftely get out of here. Kei was making a small fire to keep the group warm.
Rose curled up under the tree and fell asleep. someone would wake her when it was time to move.

[Arro]

Arro felt a little out of her depth. Everyone was talking and socialising except her. She laughed silently at ZT and then walked over to a tree and leaned against the trunk, she liked to just observe people.

She couldn't see Max among all the others and she assumed she had left the new flock. Afterall, a large flock like this would be much easier to find than hers.

I felt like I had to do something besides just stand here. I reached into my pocket, feeling to see if anything was there. I had to stop the bleeding in my arm. Instead of scabbing over, it had started to open more. Luckily, the bullet had sliced through my arm from the side, instead of burying itself in my arm.

I ripped some thin bark off of a tree and wrapped it around my arm. It helped, sort of... but it was more painful than before.

I sat down by a tree and held my arm, teeth clenched, eyes closed... trying not to cry.

It had been hard at the school, but they hadn't ever shot me.

I looked around. Everyone was just sitting up against their own tree, no one talking to anyone else. I hated sitting here doing nothing, and I needed something to distract me from the pain in my arm.

I saw Mayze. Alone.

What could I do besides walk over there?

Kei-

Colt walked over and sat down next to Kei. She sighed, waiting for the accusations to come, he might not trust her now, but they were out of the sky. Instead Colt simply asked. "How did you know that there's a town near here? None of us have ever been outside before."

She looked over at him and smiled. "I have. They thought my ability was too dangerous, so I was trained in the outside. Since I was four years old. Granted they put a bomb around my neck, if I had tried to run away I'd have died." She looked around the clearing and saw that everyone was looking at her now, Kei shrugged and kept talking. "Even if they didn't want me to learn about the outside world. I at least managed to get the lay of the land, as it were."

((Once again, I am apologizing for not being here as often as usual. I haven't slept in my own bed for a week XD))

((Mayze))

I sat the outside of a small grassy clearing I had found. I had decided to take to first watch so everyone else could sleep peacefully, which they were in the trees behind me. I watched the golden currents flitting through the tan grass around me. I loved losing myself in the way the gold strands whipped around objects right before they collide.

I heard the swish of the grass behind me and saw the wind change its direction and flow past me. I smiled and turned my head; ZT was starting to sit down beside me.

"Couldn't sleep?" I asked.

He shook his head and moved his hand over his bark bandage. I gasped, "That'll make the wound worse! Try and take that off."

ZT's shoulders sagged and he started taking off the bark wound around his arm, "Ok."

"Sorry for being so harsh," I apologized after seeing his pride hurt, "but putting bark on your arm will not help it heal. Stay here."

I stood and beat my wings hard. A standing take off was harder than a running take off but the wind was perfect where I was standing. I flew above the trees and spotted a small creek a little ways away. I flew over, landed, and ripped off a leg on my pants. I soaked the cloth in the clear water and took off again. I returned to the clearing and ran towards ZT.

ZT had taken his bandage off and was sitting tensely on the ground. I went over and told him to show me his arm. He winced as he lifted the wound to my eyes. The shot hadn't gone too incredibly deep but it looked painful. I wrapped the cold cloth around his bleeding arm and tied it tight. He winced once but stopped himself from doing anything else.

I wiped my arm across my forehead and leaned back to look at my bandage job. It looked pretty sturdy. I leaned my back onto a tree and felt ZT release his tension a bit. The dark was lit up by the right half of the moon overhead.

"Thanks." ZT said from the ground beside me.

I looked down at the boy laying down beside me. I saw his scar and wondered where it was from.

"Where'd you get your scar from?" I asked, looking back up at the stars.

(Rose)

Rose woke suddenly and leapt to her feet. Her wings unfurled either side of her. She didn't know where she was. People were staring at her. She shook her head and looked at them. Something in her brain clicked. When she looked back up she recognized everyone who had escaped. They were all sitting by their own tree, staring at Rose with startled expressions. She could tell by the smiles still slipping from some faces that she had just interrupted a happy conversation.

Rose sat back down slowly with her wings still spread out. She knew there must have been a reason she had woken up. She used to wake up at the school when something was wrong. She looked up past the trees. the sky was quite light and cheerful.
"What's out there?" she asked know one in particular.
Everyone stared at her with worried looks before glancing into sky. Rose knew she had bent their emotions slightly to make them more aware and she hadn't meant to. They had looked so relaxed.
"Rose there's nothing there," Kei asured her.
"Maybe you should just sleep, you look terrible." Colt suggested.
Everyone slowly went back to their conversations. Rose was tired but instead of falling asleep she lay under her tree and watched the flickering fire.

"I got the scar when I was young," I told Mayze. "Really young. It happened when they were... experimenting." I winced at the memory. "I have an artificial eye now..." I hoped that would explain it enough, because it was hard for me to talk about it. I had lain in the room screaming for... hours. And the eye, if you looked closely, looked terrible. But it's powers had been the reason that I had escaped.

All the thoughts ran through my head quickly, but it was too sickening to me to repeat them.

"Oh," Mayze said, obviously expecting more.

I could tell that she was expecting more of an explanation, and I wished that I could tell her... I wanted to make her happy--or at least satisfied. But it was impossible, the words wouldn't leave my mouth.

But she glanced over at me, looked into my eyes, and then nodded. She seemed now to understand my pain. Maybe the tear rolling down my cheek helped.

Trying to turn the painful conversation-turned-awkward-silence into something better, I asked her a question. "How did you know about the bandage thing, if you've never been out of the school?"

I tried to feel hurt that she knew more than me about survival--I thought that I was the expert, thanks to the whitecoats lessons and experiments--but I couldn't. Instead, I was surprised to find that I was grateful. I hadn't really felt that way before. I guess that's because I'd lived with whitecoats all my life. I couldn't be thankful for anything they had done.

Then, I was more surprised to find that I was happy that she knew more than me about something. I wasn't competitive anymore....

Must've had to do with that feeling thing. I wished I knew what it was... and what to do about it.

I wanted to touch Mayze...

But I settled for listening to her voice as she answered my question.

Tears fell onto the grass as Rose lay crying. She was listening to ZT and Mayze talking together just behind her. She had two reasons to why she was crying. The first was that she had missed out on all her training. Everyone else seemed really strong and powerful at their own talent while she just lay there weakly. She didn't understand what everyone else had been through. The whitecoats had thought she was unimportant and a waste of space.

The second reason was nobody had ever really spoken to her properly. She hadn't had a real conversation. ZT and Mayze were finally beginning to feel happy, Rose could feel it.

Someone threw a few more logs on the fire. It crackled merrily. Rose turned away from ZT and Mayze and went back to watching the fire as she drifted back to sleep.

**So, i need to bring my guy in. Hope you don't mind BF*

Colt-

Colt tossed more logs on the fire then looked up and saw Rose. She was curled up tears glistening on her cheeks. He walked over and brushed them off her face looking into her eyes.

"Whats wrong?" He asked looking her face over.

Rose blinked and looked up. Colt was crouching down next to her. Unlike the looks the whitecoats had always given her, Colt looked like he actually cared. Rose leant on her shaking arms and shook her head.
"I don't know," She whispered misreably.
She didn't know how to explain her sadness. She always had a smile on her face. Colt had noticed this.

"Cheer up," he said brightly.
Rose dropped her gaze, brushed her fingers across the grass then looked up into the sky. There were no erasers.
"It's just frightening." She replied simply.
Colt sat down then looked round at clearing.
"I think we're all scared but if we stick together we will be safe."
Rose bit her lip and frowned. Everyone had always lied to her, she didn't know who to trust.
"Promise?" she asked.
colt nodded and stood up.

"Is everyone fine now?" Nate called out.
A series of nods and 'yes's' met him. Rose smiled for the first time in ages. She folded her wings behind her back and moved out of the shadow of the tree.
