Maximum Ride: The New Breed

Colt closed his eyes, he could hear everyone escaping. He put his hands on the doors and started pushing. His wings shoved out of his back and started pushing against the wall behind him. The metal started to groan as did every limb in his body. He gave one last shoved before falling on the bottom of the cage. The door screeched open and he jumped out streaching his aching limbs and wings. He quickly ran to catch up with the others.

I looked over and saw someone trying to push open the bars. I ran over quickly and saw him fall over inside the cage. After seeing others open them, I thought I knew how. So I tried opening it. It didn't work. So I reached out and ripped the bars off. I couldn't get them off from the inside, but it worked easy on the outside.

As soon as he was out, the other (Colt, I found out later) ran away immediately.

I followed him, knowing that there would be heck out here, as soon as "my" whitecoat woke up.

I hoped I'd done the job well enough that it wouldn't be soon.

And I hoped that the rest of the new flock had gotten nearly everyone out, or else my plan was dead. I would never receive the whitecoat's trust again--and I'd be stuck forever.

(ZT) (Sorry I'm writing so much, but I kind of want to say this, and I don't know if I'll have time later... is this not allowed, please tell me, 'cause I can stop!)

As I ran down the hall, I saw an opening in the wall. Another hallway merged into it. I looked straight down it and zoomed in... there was a door not too far away with a little tiny window. And there was a whitecoat looking out of the window. I turned and ran that way.

The door was locked when I got there, but I twisted hard enough that the handle ripped off. Sweet! I pushed the door open, and it swung the whitecoat into the wall, knocking him out too. There weren't any experiments in the room, but I noticed on the video camera TV a bunch of whitecoats heading our way. Fast.

The alarm had been sounded.

I turned away from the room and ran back to the flock, quickly catching up. I ran as fast as I could towards the exit, stopping only to rip off the doors to every cage I saw, whether it had someone in it or not. Unfortunately, there were a heck of a lot of them, and I wondered if everyone would be able to get out before the whitecoats got here....

[Arro]

Arro had put her talent to good use and had stolen a magnet from the pocket of one of the whitecoats and now, she had freed the last experiment.

She had spotted Nate and Blade running into an operation room and was just about to follow them in when a guy she didnt't recognise with black hair and black eyes came out and crashed into her.

'What the hell was that?!' He shouted jumping up.

Nate and Blade were right behind him. Nate grinned. 'I think you just found the one who began this escape.'

Arro reappeared and smiled at Blade and Nate. 'I got a magnet, I think it opens the doors as well.'

She handed it to Nate. Then she turned to the guy who had run into her. 'Arro. What's your name?'

The boy was only about a year older than her, but he held himself as though he was her superior. 'Sam.' He looked her in the eye and didn't blink.

Nate spotted the challenge and brought them back to the real world. 'Hey! We need to get out of here, so please co-operate.'

Arro shook her head. 'No. You guys go, I am going after Max and the others.'

Checking to make sure that everyone had escaped, I ran towards the door. Nate and a few others were stopped, but I ignored them and ran by, knowing the danger of the whitecoats coming. As I ran by them, I called out, telling them that they were coming.

I ran around the corner and saw three whitecoats blocking my path. Dang it! There was only one thing I could do. I whipped out my wings as far as I could in this corridor, and reached back to punch. Two of the whitecoats were hit by my wings, the other slammed down by my fist.

Perfect.

The door was in sight.

I ran towards the door to go outside, but as I neared it, I heard a gunshot. My head swiveled, and automatically my right eye zoomed in on the bullet. I watched it come, and barely pulled my wings in to my body in time. The bullet thudded into the wall next to me.

Without hesitation, I ran through the door and flew into the air. Once I was a safe distance away, I turned to see if anyone else would make it out.

I hoped all my work wouldn't be for nothing.



Hey, sorry that this was kind of rough, I wrote it quickly. And please tell me if I'm posting too much here, I'm having a lot of fun with it, and I think that I'll slow down a lot once everyone escapes. It's just that I kind of want to meet some people so that I can see if I can actually join the "new flock", or if I'll be an outsider. Anyways, thanks... and thanks for a great storybook idea!

Teh Wozzinator

It was so strange, being able to run. Yet it was all I wanted do. Someone had burst into the room and torn all of the cages doors off of them. Before I had time to thank him, he’d run off. I pushed myself out of the cage and ran after him, slowing only to find an exit through the walls.

A hand grabbed my arm and I whipped around, expecting a white coat to bring me to the floor. Instead, I saw the one and only Max. She brought a finger to her mouth. I nodded and she let go. When she started running, I followed.

(Rose)

Rose slumped in her tiny cage, her hands still gripping the bars. She hadn't escaped in time. The stranger had not seen her cage. Everyone else was probably gone by now. she called out for anyone and listened for a reply.

Rose couldn't hear anything. Things moved and cages she couldn't see. Distant footsteps began to echo off the floor. Rose's heart began beating, adrenaline pumping through her body. Had she attracted the attention of some whitecoats. If they came in they would realise the others were gone and she didn't want to get anyone in more trouble. Nobody appeared.
"Help me," Rose whispered.

Sighing, she crawled onto her knees and began beating her fists aganist the cage. If she made enough noise someone might come. Rose knew that doing this would hurt but it would pay off. She began screaming to make more noise.

Fifteen minutes later the crashing and screaming was finally heard by someone. Two whitecoats burst through the doors. They strode over to Rose's cage and peered in at her.
"What do you think's wrong with it?" the first whitecoat asked quietly.
"I don't know. Open the cage, it looks too busy to notice," the other answered.
'yes' thought Rose. slowly the whitecoats open the cage door. She carried on screaming and flailing her hands but watched them closely.

The first whitecoat looked at Rose with interest. Without any warning Rose slammed her fist into his face. the whitecoat staggered back clutching his nose. Rose shot out of the cage and ran like a bullet through the doors. she carried on running blindly down corridors until her lungs burnt and her head felt light. she ducked down another corridor and leant aganist the wall. She knew everyone must be around here someone. Rose felt lost and lonely on her own with no one to take instructions from.
"Someone will find me," she said optimisticly, sliding down the wall and sitting in a tight ball on the floor.

Colt-

Colt was starting to get out when he saw a girl dash across the hall way. He followed and watched her sit down in a tight ball.

"You wont be able to get out of here just sitting down." He said helping her up. "Come on, let's get out of here."








**Sorry, all I had**

While I ran, I tried to concentrate harder, trying to find the trouble before it happened. It was when I saw Colt reach down and help up a smaller girl. I smiled, but continued following Max.

I had been distracted by the scene and barely had time to see the whitecoats coming around the corner in front of Max. Grabbing her arm, I stopped her anxious run. She whipped around and opened her mouth to say something when they came around the corner. I opened my mouth in terror and started to scream. Max slapped her hand over my mouth.

“You’ll alert the rest of them!” she said angrily and pulled me into a run.

Rose had been wary of the older boy at first but once she knew he was helping her, she let herself be dragged along behind. She glanced up at his profile as they ran. He seemed very demermined to escape. It was hard keeping up after all the running she had just done.

Together Rose and the boy broke through the doors. A cold,refreshing wind broke over their faces as they began to run over the concrete. Rose glanced back and stopped to stare at the ugly building behind. The boy noticed she wasn't following and swung round.
"Come on," the older boy urged Rose.
Rose welcomed the command and snapped into action. The boy unfurled his wings and launched into the air powerfully. Rose followed his lead and let her wings spread. The gold streaks caught her eye. she gave a small hop and set off, feeling relieved by whistling breeze.

Sam sighed as the girl ran passed him. He looked back at the younger one still on the table, "Can you move?" She tried to get up, but flinched, "Guess not." He walked over and picked her up.

"What are you doing Sam?" Nate gave him a nasty glance.

"I'll get her out of here, you get the others organized. Such a job doesn't suit me." With that he sped off.

My wrist hurt after only seconds of being yanked behind her. We turned so many corners; I thought that I’d end up with a concussion if she let my wrist go.

Max stopped and I felt a breath of fresh air. I closed my eyes and suppressed a scream. I pulled away from her and turned away from the sunlight, suddenly remembering my albino genes.

“Um…aren’t you going to escape?” Max, trying to help, pushed me out into the sunlight. This time I did scream.

I waited for a few minutes, dreadfully thinking that no one else would come. I would hate it by myself. Then two others, a boy and a girl, ran out and flew into the air. Yes! I thought as I flew towards them.

*Sorry, guys. I seem really stupid right now. It's just that you guys have been posting like crazy (which is good, mind you) and now I'm completely lost. So, where are we right now? Have we escaped? lol*

**Some of us have, some haven't, you haven't yet. So far it is just my guy, Rose (Blue Fairy), and ZT (SirWozzell). Everyone else is still inside. I think we are all going to meet outside somewhere. XD**
