Khalil smiled softly. "I know." Xe squeezed their hand.

After a moment, Cody's eyebrows furrowed and he asked, "What was being a cloak really like? I'd imagine there's a certain amount of trauma that comes from being turned into a nonliving object, especially if Joe's involved."

Khalil hair engulfed Cody in xer arms. He was warm and feel and his skin ignited xer human skin. “It hurt so bad, Cody. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t sleep. And Joe he’d- he’d-“ He sobbed again and pulled Cody even tighter still.
