  • Poetry » Dramatic, Spiritual Re: In Spring

Hello, This is one of the more mature poems I've read on YWS, despite its conciseness and simplicity. You use simile very well, and your structure compliments your poem well. ...

  • Poetry » General, General Re: It Hurts

Hello, I cannot really comment on the poem aesthetically, as you appear to be a much more direct poet than I. I tend to bury what I'm saying in symbols ...

Hey there, Maven529! It's Q the Solemn here for a review. Wow! What a disturbingly ruthless and uncannily horrifying tale you've spun with this one. It was so raw and ...

Hey there, Soulkana! It's Quenterino, dropping in to give your poem a review. Before I begin the actual review, I feel I should point out a small nitpick. In line ...

  • Poetry » Dramatic, Other Re: Flawed

I think the first two lines of your second stanza are your strongest. You convey your message effectively through a relatively interesting image. The problem is that the second two ...

I don't even know what this is. It is far from cohesive, not to mention coherent. It is borderline obnoxious, in fact. Even the intentional typos and spelling errors are ...

  • Poetry » General, General Re: Computer

I feel like nothing in this poem is working towards the whole. It's short enough to be cohesive, but thematically it doesn't compute with me. I suppose the title is ...

I'm shocked you haven't received more reviews, Davey. What I liked about this story is that it took Joycean themes and stylings, and placed them in a modern context. I ...

Dave, I've known you for a long time, and we read the same types of things. Therefore, I can comprehend the underlying idea of this poem just from knowing you ...

  • Poetry » Realistic, Narrative Re: Do You Remember?

As a fan of Anne Bradstreet and John Berryman, I really love elegiac poems. The intimate, conversational tone appeals to me, as I feel it reveals a more general observation ...

  • Poetry » General, Realistic Re: Simplicity

For a poem that was free-written during a "lull" in English class, this is extremely cohesive. The sparse style of the poem works very well with your theme of simplicity. ...

The last line evoked a chuckle from me. I know quite a few band-geeks, who only talk about band. I feel like this poem is one of the few humorous ...

I really enjoy this poem, Strange. What really catches the eye is the interesting things you do with your rhythm and rhyme. Stylistically, you control the poem very well. All ...

  • Poetry » Lyrical, Other Re: Beauty in a Thousand Words or Less

Like Castiel, I detected an expressionist influence in the poem, but this influence caused the poem to become somewhat too free. There are times when the words do not contribute ...
