Mr. Fog Morning Kiss

Warning: This work has been rated 18+ for mature content.

I wake up and reach for you, inhaling my morning kiss.

I embrace the warmth and the vibrating feeling that comes after,

I hate that I need the kiss, but I love the kiss,

The first thing I think of is the kiss.

Like a vampire's bite I'm hooked.

Time for another kiss.

Hello! Time to leave a short review on your poignant and emotional work. Because of its brevity, I'll be able to review your poem by line. COOL! Okay, let's goooo

I wake up and reach for you, inhaling my morning kiss.

The first thing you look for in the morning is usually either a habit, like brushing your teeth, or something that gives you pleasure, like smoking/vaping. In this case, the narrator immediately reaches for a vape early in the morning, showing that they have been addicted indeed.

I embrace the warmth and the vibrating feeling that comes after,

It's so familiar to them they don't feel the sensation of a cough anymore. Beginners usually cough after smoking/vaping because of the smoke. It's evident that the narrator has vaped a number of times already.

I hate that I need the kiss, but I love the kiss,

Here it is. Our narrator admits their addiction and dependency on it, however, they are not willing to let go of it.

The first thing I think of is the kiss.

This repeats what I observed above when they reached for the vape first thing in the morning. It tells the readers that yes, it's the only thing on their mind.

Like a vampire's bite I'm hooked.

This is an interesting and accurate description. The addiction can be referred to as the vampire, biting into the flesh and claiming the narrator for themselves.

Time for another kiss.

Here you show the gravity of their addiction. In about five lines, she is seeking for the vape once again just after describing how it feels. Like drugs, she longs for it more and more and more until it utterly consumes her.

Overall, this is a thought-provoking poem that details the emotions one feels when they are addicted to smoking. It is also enlightening to the audience, looking how addictive something can be and how we should be brave enough to break off from something that is harmful to us.

Hello!
This poem is short, but it does capture the idea of an addiction. The repetition of the word "kiss" brings a sense of need and love. In this poem, the kiss it a hit off of a vape, but it can be seen as an actual kiss, or just love in general. Wanting a kiss can be seen as a need over time, as well as a vape; an addiction some would rather not have. The line "I hate that I need the kiss..." shows that the narrator might not necessarily enjoy what may have started as a want, slowly turn into a need.
Very good poem overall, with a few punctuation changes, your future poems will come out great. I'm a big fan of shorter poems because they make the reader think deeper into the meaning with such little information.
