Rotting Tombs

In Imagery poetry

Hey everyone! Been a little while since I posted so I think I'm gonna try a little gothic style poetry (my favorite). Anywho I know this is a little rusty and I feel like I end this poem abrubtly. I reposted after I edited a little. Thanks so much! Happy reading!

Rotting tombs spout
black plumes that fester in the somber air.
While ravens stand shrieking,
like a clock that's clicking,
barren branches are creaking.
As tomb stones are eroding away,
and their dirges have whithered in the grave.

Imprisoned within a swirling culdran
of seething dirt and rotting flesh,
decaying kings disintigrate to dust.
Worms to lords
and kings to dust.
All serving as slaves
to time's plot.
Tick... Tick... Tock.

In a dark and dreary murk,
time poisons our lives.
Clawing and gnashing at our throats
until its all but
shattered our rhyme,
and doomsday will chime.

Wow you are the best writer. I really loved your extensive vocabulary. And the format if the story. It really makes the reader want to read more. My favorite part in the poem is when it goes the timeless plot, that really is great description. I don't know we're you learn to rite like that.

And I thought I wrote depressing poetry xD
This was a piece, if gothic stuff is your thing - and I've got to say it's not my favorite, but I can see the appeal is holds for some x)
Honestly ... it scares me. The rhymes also seemed a little awkward (but rhyming is super tough for me so I get that).
Good job, and I'll be reading your other works! :)

Thanks for reading Harbours! And yes this poem is really kinda suppose to scare you and the rhyming is more random because the constant rhyme line after line has an up beat tone which doesn't really work in gothic
