Raindrops and Raspberry

In Poems

I wonder why
Failure has always been my friend.

Usually the jerk is there when I don't need him—

                 Crumbling my energy and
                 Kissing my faith away
  In the hopes of
Nursing me like a cloud until I rain my tears.

  Grotesque he may be,
He still colors my world, but in annoying shades of gray.

Alas! I forgot that it is my responsibility
                 To shut him out
Everytime he wants to show up.
    My goal is very simple,
And that is to keep him from chewing up
                 The fruits of my labor.

Had I not forgot to remove that
Stupid key from its lock, today would have been...
                 Okay, but right now
My friend is by my side, and
Unless I learn to blame myself and not him,
  Chances are sure that my
    Happiness is not totally extinguished.

Can you guess the hidden message in this poem?

The title is the first thing that caught my eye. Its very imaginative and different. The way you have written this poem and set it out is also another thing that caught my eye as its different and you can read it easier :)
I really like this poem as its unique and different :)

I was thinking about what a good poem this was and the title was awesome!
And it was kinda funny because recently I wrote two poems, ''Embers to Emotions'' and ''Sadness to Sunrise'' So this poem title really sounded like some thing I would have wrote! So I thought that was kinda funny...OK so now I'm getting way off track.

Anyways, great work on the poem! I liked the question at the end but It kind of threw the poem at an awkward stance because then It just left me trying to read the poem again and what I came up w/ was, maybe, likening the situation to nature?? Like you wrote [Crumbling](earthquake?)
and [shades of gray](Storm) and [cloud until I rain my tears](storm) and[fruits] (Um..tree)
So...yeh....I dunno if that' s what you were trying to do... but, no, I don't think I guessed the hidden message! (haha) But nice job, it was creative and really took you in when you read it..if ya know what I mean.;) -Deleted12

Thanks for your review! LOL Ithink you are very funny. :DcAnyway that's not the hidden message...it's not about nature. I'm sorry if it left you with that thought. You could keep guessing it or I could already spill the beans. :)

I like this poem. I think the layout that you have is unique and it really kept me interested. The opening line immediately catches the reader because, honestly, I think a lot of people can relate to failure.

I also liked how you personified failure into a person. As a reader, it makes it more interesting to read than just talking about how failure stinks. I'm not quite sure what the hidden image is, but is it perhaps rain falling? I wasn't exactly sure, but from the unique style of the poem, it looks like the lines and stanzas themselves form the image. Great job! Keep writing!

Thank you for the review! No, it's not the rain falling. :)

This is a good poem. I like it. I can kind of relate with what this poem says, about how failure is always around.

Do you get this feeling often, or just after calculus?

I'm not really sure what the hidden message is here, is it don't be hard on yourself? I really have no idea.

Thank you for your review. No that's not the hidden message. You could find it in the poem itself, it's there. :)

I often get this feeling, I just don't know how to put it in words. But somehow after taking Calculus I just felt inspired to write. :)

is the hidden message don't blame things on others?

Hello gauravkundu32 is here to review:-
I really like this poem. But I could not understand why have you put the whole poem in a strange manner. I like the theme of the poem and completely amazed by it. The words are flowing like butter. I am not into poetry but according to me the message of this poem is that we always blame the other and never see our own fault. We should also look at our mistakes and learn from them. I may be wrong. I really want to know the real message here so please tell me. Anyway superb pen and superb imagination. Keep up the good work.
All the best

Keep Writing

Thank you for the review! Sure I'll PM the hidden message to you. :)
