Skylar Adkins: Love in decaying hearts

*This story is underneath my folder titled “Love in decaying hearts”. Gacha Club character designs are under my forum titled “My character designs<33[2]”. Enjoy!*

There once was a sixteen year old girl named Skylar Adkins who had a friend the same age named Melanie Angelica. Melanie loved to write supernatural horror and romance stories ever since they were ten, Skylar was more interested in doing her own makeup. It wasn’t super colorful makeup, but it enhanced her face more and it made her feel good.

Though they both had different interests, they still loved to talk to each other about anything and nothing important. Maybe it was because they had to be partners with each other when they were in Kindergarten and that childhood connection grew. Maybe it was something they couldn’t explain.

Whatever the reason, they were both happy to be each other’s friend. Melanie loved Skylar’s makeup and Skylar enjoyed reading Melanie’s stories. They cheered each other on and told each other when they were wrong. They only had one another as friends and Skylar was fine with that. She liked Melanie. As gloomy and off-putting as she seemed, Melanie was the most interesting, kind person that Skylar ever met and she wouldn’t trade her for anyone else in the world.

But one day, Melanie and her family had to move. Melanie would call Skylar, tell Skylar how much she missed her, how she wasn’t sure if her writing was that good and Skylar would tell her not to worry, that her writing was wonderful and that they’d make time to see each other.

Then Melanie stopped calling. She wasn’t the most outgoing person, but it wasn’t like her to stop calling. Friendship was her top priority before writing.

Skylar’s parents talked to Melanie’s parents on the phone and apparently, Melanie went missing. She was just…gone.

Skylar wanted to find her, she wanted to make sure Melanie was okay, but she didn’t know where to start. And even with the calls, something had felt off. Like Melanie was lying to her. Like Melanie was hiding her true feelings.

Skylar hated to think of it, but could it have been that…Melanie didn’t want to be her friend anymore? That moving away really made her not like Skylar?

Had they grown apart?

Ah and this is another fairly recent one. But one without speech so no reason for me to be upset xd

I like it when people are friends despite not having much in common :3 When they can just enjoy the other’s enthusiasm 😊

Oh I can so relate to the feeling of losing a friend bc they move away. And how easy it is to lose contact. Knowing you this probably is some bigger plot about sacrifices to demons or a witch’s curse but it still works as a metaphor for real life. Makes me feel melancholic for my own childhood.

I%u2019m glad you enjoyed this ^v^
