Through the Eyes of a Werewolf- Ch.8

Chapter 9

Chapter 7

Chapter 1

“NO! OH GOD, NO! We wouldn’t do that! Don’t you remember anything?! Just think!” Sage cried back at me with a look of shock and disgust.

I stood awkwardly, realizing that I really didn’t have any idea what had happened. I thought back, memories slowly coming back to me. I remembered there was fear. A full moon… What else? Um, a wolf! There was a wolf in the bathroom! It was… IT WAS ME? I WAS A WOLF? I REMEMBER.

I gasped and croaked out, “I remember it now…” Then I became fearful. Am I going crazy?! What if they try to kill me…?

He must have seen my panicked expression because he quickly said: “its okay, we know. I kind of have A LOT to tell you…”

I nodded my head and gulped. How could they know? Then again, I most likely hadn’t magically appeared in my bed. OH SH*T. So they’d have seen my body one way or another? I sighed loudly- well there goes me NOT feeling violated.

Here, follow me. Sage said. Well I think he said it, his lips weren’t moving. I looked around in wonder but did as told. I wonder if I could change into a wolf again… I thought back to me being a wolf and what it was like.

Running through the forests and attacking the bunny. Poor bunny… I forced the itching feeling up onto my skin and before I knew it, my bones were cracking and I was a wolf! At least I think I was, I was on all fours and felt a tail on the back of me. Oh wow! I was well past Sage’s waist as a wolf! Sage looked down at me with an unreadable description but I just wagged my tail like a puppy dog. For a second, he looked like he was in pain but it had gone away quickly. I could smell and hear everything! Thorn was downstairs cooking something, Sage’s breathing, and someone else walking- maybe Sylo? Ronex had harder steps.

Sage led me to a room I hadn’t seen before. It had papers and folders everywhere- even hung on the wall! I huffed then realized something- my clothes had ripped when I’d changed into a wolf! I looked at sage uneasily then tried to tell him I’d be back in a sec. with my eyes. I ran off to my room and dug out clothes. I grabbed them softly in my jaws and headed back to the secret room. Sage was still in there, waiting. He nodded his head when I walked back in and began talking.

“Okay so, first off. All of us are werewolves- purebreds, actually. Ronex, Thorn, Sylo, and I.” He said easily, as if it were the most casual thing. I looked at him in utter shock but he didn’t pause to let me sink it in.

“You’re of the prophecy- you are Kamalia, the she-wolf. We had to get you before the blood fang pack did. So now, you’re one of us. The blood fang pack isn’t exactly what you’d call good. They definitely aren’t saints either.” Even their name gave me the heeby geebies! I thought. “Since we were the first pack you changed with, you are part of us. I’m not sure if you can see but now you now carry the pack markings on your fur.”

I craned my neck but couldn’t really see it. When I looked back to sage, he was fiddling through a folder. He held up a picture for me to see. It was of a wolf with unnatural fiery red fur. It was posing for the picture. On its back, there was a symbol. It was a bright silvery white color and seemed to break off in different directions from a circle. It twisted at random points but caught your eyes. It captivated me until Sage put it back into the folder. Tearing my eyes away from it, I looked back up at his face. He was staring at me but once he realized I was looking back, he looked down at his shoes as if embarrassed. I waited for him to continue.

“Basically, it’s our pack versus theirs. We’re not sure how many members they have but something we are sure of, is that they outnumber us greatly. You have the power to find purebreds like us in the world. I’m not sure how but it says so in the prophecy.” I wondered what exactly the prophecy really said but I just nodded my head.

“Well, we need to get as many recruits as possible and we need you. They want to take you to lead their pack, then they’d become the strongest pack in the world. They’d use you for bad though. Blood Fang pack feeds off of humans instead of regular animals. Human blood makes them go in a frenzy…” his eyes started to look distant. Was that a hint of hunger I saw in them? He shook his head before I could look closer into his eyes.

“Do you think you got that all?” he asked. I was kind of sure…

“What about my mom and dad?” I blurted out.

“Ahh, they were in on this one too. You’re mother’s dad, or should I say you’re grandfather? Was a pureblood werewolf- a very powerful one. Everyone had respected him. After a while of living the werewolf life, he found his… mate.” He gave me a weird look when he’d said mate but continued talking. “Well they had a child who was obviously you’re mother. He wanted to have a son since the werewolf gene could only transfer through males. To make a long story short, since he was so powerful, the gene was passed down to your mother and then to you.”

I nodded my head, still a little confused but decided not to question it since he most likely didn’t know the answer.

When he finished talking, he led me to the door. Outside were three other wolves. One with fiery red fur turned around. He was gigantic! At least bigger than me that is! His muscles rippled through his pelt as he walked towards me. He seemed to be sizing me up. His icy blue eyes scaled the length of my body and stopped to examine where I thought the markings would be. He nodded then walked towards sage.

I LOVE YOU’RE FUR COLOR!!! Can I touch it…? Thorn’s voice raged through my head. I jumped up in surprise. How was he doing that?! I wondered.

Oh yeah, you can talk into other wolves’ minds. It’s how we communicate. I looked at him in shock. That’s so awesome!!! I focused on his head and sent back Sure! He must have gotten the message because he came bounding over to me and began rubbing his body along mine.

Its so soft!! I heard him send back. It’s a wonder how we were able to do that! His purple black fur brushed lightly against mine. It felt like someone petting me. Now I see why cats and dogs force you to pet them all day long! Then I looked up at Sylo. His brown fur was spiked up as it was when he was a human. He was looking at the forest in a daze, as if it were calling his name. The moment I looked at the forest, it too called mine.

I really like this story. :) That was totally NOT a meaningless chapter. I just had to say that- you had Sage explain the blood fang pack (should you maybe capatilize that since it is important... Like a title?), the prophecy, Kamalia's family lineage, that wolfs can communicate with their minds, what more could you ask for? It is very cool that Kamalia can be so happy-go-lucky even though she is in a very serious situation. It's like she doesn't really mind... I also wonder what the prophecy really says. Will that be revealed later on?

Only one nitpick-
"“Well, we need to get as many recruits as possible and we need you. They want to take you to lead their pack, then they’d become the strongest pack in the world. They’d use you for bad though. This bothered me. A lot. All their dialogue is clumped together without a line in-between each paragraph. Please separate them. It'll be easier to read and easier on people's eyes. :)

Again, I really like your character. I like the light-hearted feel to this chapter and story. I love that you're continuing with the comical feel to certain points with the character. I'm pleasantly surprised you used the phrase "gave me the heebie jeebies". It made me laugh :)
In all I'm really enjoying your story. It doesn't sound like some cheesy Twilight/Jacob Black knockoff or anything, even though they have similar characteristics between the wolves' abilities. Keep up the good work!

Keep writing!
<3 Sara.
